Paper Source Subscription Box Review

This installment of the Paper Source subscription box came with a catalog of theirs. It doesn't go over the items inside the box but does have a few of them featured throughout.

You'll also find a helpful color chart that explains how certain colors impact us. The back has a stationery component size guide as well.

Lastly, for accompanying paperwork, you'll get an envelope that introduces you to the "Celebrate Color" theme of this limited edition box.

Paper Source Rainbow Colorscope Custom Journal - Retail Value $19.95

Included with it is a voucher and code to redeem online for your very own personalized colorscope journal. I thought I'd go ahead and see what steps I had to take to collect on this. Turns out, it's SUPER easy. I just followed the provided link and was able to choose my font, color, and words to personalize my journal. I was also able to customize the page style (I chose graph) and I'm also happy to report that it included free shipping so it's truly has a full $19.95 value! I find this voucher much better than the previous one to take a class which was not available in my area.

UPDATE 8/30: I received my notebook in the mail yesterday and it's just lovely. Here are some pics:

As I mentioned, I chose to have graph paper in my spiral bound notebook and instead of my name, chose to personalize it with the quote "Chaos Regins" in a matte gold color. This notebook has 60 sheets of paper but seems like more. Stoked to have this and since I didn't have to pay shipping, it was totally free with the voucher.

Paper Source Colorscope Re-Usable Bag - Retail Value $12.95

Paper Source is kicking off this ridiculously colorful box with a HUGE rainbow-striped reusable tote bag! Totes like this are just the best for grocery shopping and hauling stuff around in between home and work since it's large but you can also fold or roll it down to a much smaller size. The bag is lightweight nylon which means it's a little slippery on the shoulder, but it will also soften with wear and is machine washable. With the 19.5" x 16.5" size, you can really stuff SO MUCH in this tote, so it's a big plus for me.

Kitsch Velvet Scrunchie - Estimated Retail Value $2.99 (Buy 5 for $14.95)

I secretly love velvet. I have lilac velvet socks that make me wonder why all of my socks aren't velvet anytime I wear them. Scrunchies have somehow made a fierce comeback over the past handful of years but sadly although this soft pink is a lovely color, it easily slips out of my fine hair. Maybe Megan will want this for her gorgeous mane?

ban.do Get It Together Roses Pencil Pouch - Retail Value $14.95

ban.do makes some really cute items that are hard to resist. I am very fond of pencil pouches but am bummed that I got this floral version. The designs people got vary in this box, and I am just not a flowery gal so it's a miss for me. The inside is a really cool metallic gold though which matches the sturdy gold metal zipper.

Paper Source 2019-2020 Paint Chip Calendar - Retail Value $24.95

Yaaaay! I'll need a new calendar for my kitchen for 2020 and this paint chip beauty from Paper Source is a great way to brighten up each day. Mimicking the pleasing visuals of the paint chip aisle at the home improvement store, each month features a soft transition of color from day-to-day. Since each month is a single simple page, this takes up less room than the cat calendars that my Mom buys me for Christmas. Since it starts in August 2019, this looker is already ready to keep track of your events.

Stabilo Pen 68 Marker Set, 15 ct - Retail Value $18.00

Gahhhh, these are so nice! I love Stabilo fine liners so these slightly fatter tips are a welcome change to the skinnier ones I'm used to. There are 15 solid hues in this pack ranging from pale peach to bold blues. Can't wait to use these on the colorful stationery from the box this month!

Stressed by Design Stress Ball in Olive - Retail Value $11.95 (Found here for $8.99)

I was surprised by how strange and wonderful this stress ball feels in my hand! It's really super squishy and isn't foam like some other stress balls, but rather gel-like. I used to keep a stress ball in my car for when I am sitting in traffic (my least favorite place to be) and this one will be a welcome replacement for the one I got rid of a while back. This is also fun to play with at work when I'm procrastinating or trying to figure out the best way to describe a product I'm reviewing. What a super fun item!

Paddywax Fresh Meyer Lemon Travel Candle, 3 oz. - Estimated Retail Value $8.61 (Buy an 8 oz. for $22.95)

Nothing says summer like fresh-squeezed lemonade, and that's exactly what this 3-ounce travel candle reminds me of. It comes in a silver tin with a lid so you can keep it in small areas like bathrooms or bring it outside to a gathering on your porch to add a fresh summery scent to the air. Yummy!!

Paper Source Notecard Set, 20 ct

I used to be a full-fledged stationery addict, but truth be told, I don't write as many letters as I used to. This set of 20 blank cards each comes with its own solid colored envelope to create a beautiful rainbow of hues. Since the white cardstock is blank, you can use the included markers to draw your own greeting or get creative with it in other ways. I can see myself using these for various occasions like friends accomplishing goals or just saying hi to those who live far away.

Dots Candy, 2.25 oz. - Buy a case of 24 for $22.99

While I don't often buy a lot of candy, it's nice to get a treat in a subscription box for some unexpected indulgence. Dots are little colorful gumdrops that embody the color theme this month. The box can easily be smuggled into the movies next time I go. Shhhhh.

Sticko Holographic Star Stickers

Who doesn't love stickers? Especially when they are colorful and holographic, like this sheet of stars. There are a whopping 93 stickers in various sizes and come in pink, blue, purple, yellow, and green. They're thick plastic that is slightly raised to give an added dimension. Super fun to stick anywhere you may need a little glitz.

LAPCOS Derma Care Sheet Mask in Tea Tree - Retail Value $3.00 (Buy a set of 5 here for $17.95)

I think LAPCOS makes some of the best sheet masks available, so I was happy to see this tea tree mask in the box. Everyone got a random mask from the set linked above, but I was pleased to get this minty version. It felt cooling and refreshing while I had it on, and once I removed it my face felt super dewy. Once dry, it did feel slightly sticky which I hate, but I powered through it and in time, it soaked in and left my skin feeling soft.

Paper Source Current Mood Leatherette Journal - Retail Value $19.95

For some reason, this item wasn't listed with the original lineup, but here she is. This pink leatherette journal is embossed with gold lettering on the front that says "CURRENT MOOD" which is just perfect for a diary. I've been meaning to start writing down my thoughts to get them out of my head and to just generally keep track of how I'm feeling, so this came just at the right time. The journal is well made and the lines are printed using soy-based ink and have metallic gold edges to match the embossing. It even has a pink ribbon to mark a page so you don't lose your spot! Looking forward to filling this baby up.

Verdict: Although I love neutral colors for my wardrobe and home, this season's Paper Source Subscription Box really delighted me with their colorful box of stationery and home goods! Everything in this box brightened my day and I find each item to be super useful, even if it's not my particular taste. Many of these products would make great gifts (the candle, journal, pencil pouch, etc) so nothing will go to waste. I'm eagerly awaiting the personalized notebook that I ordered using the coupon code and will keep you updated on when it shows up! If you're a fan of well-designed office and home goods, then this is a wonderful box that has a great curation. There are a few items I couldn't get solid prices for (the single box of Dots, the stickers, and the notecard set) but this box is at least worth $137.30 without counting those. I'd say that's a great value for a $49.95 box!

I’m in love with that calendar

I didn’t order this for the same reason as everyone else–that year long commitment, but it’s SUCH a nice box! The winter box isn’t nearly as tempting. Guess I will have to watch for sales and buy my favorite items from this box!

Meg

I LOVE this fall box… these items are all so fun and/or useful. But after seeing the winter box spoilers I’m glad I didn’t sign up and commit to the year long service.

This looks like a great box! I was very tempted when the spoilers were released, but I just couldn’t do it knowing that they lock you in for a year. I ended up buying the markers, the thing I wanted most, for a tiny fraction of the cost of the box and will keep an eye out for that calendar on clearance next February. 😛

I would have totally bought this subscription but the Fall box is gone they’re already onto winter (it’s still August!). I’m not feeling the winter spoilers. Oh well…

I am putting my stress ball in the car. Thanks for the idea Marne! I wouldn’t have thought of that. It is a very unique feel but I do like it.

My pleasure- driving and traffic are probably the most stressful things I deal with so I find it the perfect place for a stress ball. 🙂

I loved this box. There was also a coupon to order a colorful journal with your name on it. I just used the coupon from the first box for a free class, $40 value. This is such a fun lifestyle box!

Hi Pamela! I did mention the voucher for the notebook right at the beginning but can see that the way I arranged the photos made it a bit confusing. I’ve updated it to make it more clear. Did you order yours yet??

Pam

Oops sorry I missed that. I did get mine. It’s really nice, same rainbow stripes and you can pick the typeface and size for the name.
