ORLY Color Pass Fall 2019 “Dreamscape” Review

Orly Fall 2019 info 1 Orly Fall 2019 info 2

This box includes an info sheet detailing the bonuses included, as well as a nail art idea using the colors.

Orly Fall 2019 coffee 1 Orly Fall 2019 coffee 2

Yes to Coconut Energizing Coffee 2-1 Scrub and Cleanser Stick, 2.5 oz - Full-Size! Retail Value $9.99

This box typically features two extras, one relating to nails and one not. This is the non-nail extra, and while I appreciate receiving a full-size beauty item, this isn't for me. I love the smell of coffee, but this has coconut oil as the fifth ingredient which I won't use on my face. I did end up using it on my chest and shoulders in the shower, and I enjoyed the refreshing coffee scent and the ease of applying thanks to the stick packaging.

Orly Fall 2019 striper 1 Orly Fall 2019 striper 2

ORLY Striper Brush - Retail Value $10

I was excited to see a nail art brush as an extra in this kit, but I found the performance to be a bit lacking. The brush bristles were pretty firm and unflexible, which made the lines thicker than what I was going for. When I am using a striping brush I really want crisp, thin lines, and this didn't deliver on that.

Here are the lines the brush made with the shade Astral Projection. I was actually so unsatisfied with the end result that I took the nail off and just repainted it and left it plain.

Orly Fall 2019 full set 1 Orly Fall 2019 full set 2

Here is the full set! Isn’t it gorgeous? Two things to note—the following photos were taken with no topcoat, and all of the bottles are full-size. Now let’s dive in!

Orly Fall 2019 dreamweaver 1 Orly Fall 2019 dreamweaver 2

Dreamweaver - Retail Value $9.50

Dreamweaver is a soft mauve creme, and while it is *fine,* I find it to be a little boring- it looks pretty similar to the shades that came in the Spring 2019 collection, and nothing about this shade in particular really fits the theme for me. Like all creme polishes I have tried from ORLY, though, this formula is perfection.

Orly Fall 2019 ethereal plane 1 Orly Fall 2019 ethereal plane 2

Ethereal Plane -  Retail Value $9.50

This shade, on the other hand, is my favorite of the entire bunch. It is a gorgeous pearly pink with a reflective blue sheen, and I love that the flashes of blue transfer well on the nail when the light hits (sometimes colors like these don't look as good on the nail as they do in the bottle). This formula is a little thinner than the creme polishes, but I still only needed two coats.

Orly Fall 2019 free fall 1 Orly Fall 2019 free fall 2

Free Fall - Retail Value $9.50

This is another really lovely shade- it's a light lilac-grey shade with silver sheen and a slight pearlescent finish, and this color was exceptionally shiny even without a topcoat. I did experience more tip wear than usual with the shade, though I do rock climb and that can be tough on the nails.

Orly Fall 2019 astral projection 1 Orly Fall 2019 astral projection 2

Astral Projection -  Retail Value $9.50

Astral Projection is the perfect grey creme polish- the formula is great, the shine is extra shiny, and this is my personal favorite shade of grey.

Orly Fall 2019 into the deep 1 Orly Fall 2019 into the deep 2

Into The Deep - Retail Value $9.50

This is a charcoal grey creme with a smoky finish, and I think the name fits the shade perfectly. The first coat of this went on a bit sheer, but it evened itself out with the second coat.

Orly Fall 2019 mystique 1 Orly Fall 2019 mystique 2

Air of Mystique - Retail Value $9.50

This is a really pretty dark teal shimmer, and while it does show some brush strokes when it dries down (most shimmers will), they weren't that bad at all. This teal has a bit of a smoky tinge to it, and I am really digging it.

The Verdict: I enjoyed the Fall 2019 collection from ORLY much more than the summer! I thought this had a good mix of fun shades and wearable neutrals, and I love that the entire collection isn't too dark for fall. ORLY is an established brand that has really nailed their formulas down, and I love that all of their polishes are vegan, cruelty-free, and 12-free. I know it can be hard to swallow the sticker shock of an annual subscription upfront, but you really will get a year’s worth of quality and fun nail polishes. This month's total value is $76.99. Considering the quarterly cost of the box is $29.75, finding the whole collection for cheaper than the Color Pass price will be difficult. If you love nail polish, I really suggest giving this box a shot.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Does anyone know when the orly boxes are released (and shipped). I don’t love this season and am wondering when the Winter one will be out so I can sign up then!

I really like ORLY, but I’ve seen recently that they’ve started doing sales pretty frequently. They had everything 50% off a month or so ago (and I’m pretty sure you could apply that to subscriptions). I’d follow them on instagram if you’re interested to keep up with sales.

Orly is my favorite brand of nail polish right now as the performance is unmatched for me, not to mention I love that the formula is vegan/12 free. Even as an avid purchaser of nail polish, I CANNOT get past the upfront cost.

Love the three grey colors and the teal. I wonder if they sell these individually?

Hi Jody! Yes, they do sell the Dreamscape bottles individually and you will find them here: https://orlybeauty.com/pages/dreamscape

I would not get this box but I can use the Orly breathable nail polish. I am a Muslim so I need a polish which is water permeable, so wish they would offer a box for these breathables.

Great review. You clearly may get your nails done at a salon but yet you still take the time to polish them with the nail polishes that you receive. Thank you so much for going above and beyond. I think this is awesome. It’s a great way to really see what the nails will look like when polished with these colors.

I just got my box yesterday. The colors are a bit plain for me. I prefer metallics and darker colors, so the teal is definitely my favorite of this bunch. I’m looking forward to trying the cleansing stick. I like the idea of using it on the body. I’ll try my face too and see what happens.

You sound like me. I don’t care for any of these colors except for the teal. I definitely prefer more exciting colors, too. Neutrals are not for me. have you ventured into the world of multichrome polishes? The shade shifting is so beautiful!

I have tried the coffee scrub before and like it. I can’t remember if it felt harsh on my face – I started using it on my face but then moved on to using it on my body and preferred to use it that way.
