August 2019 Dapper Dog Box Review

August's box theme is Under the Sea!

Each box comes with two info cards, one listing the featured item of the month—the Dapper Dog monthly bandana—and the other has some social media info as well as a little more info about the charitable nature of this box.

Murray is ready to dig in!

Under the Sea Bandana - Listed Value $20

This reversible bandana is so fun! One side is blue with starfish and whales and the other side also has starfish but seashells and bubbles, too! Here is the bandana modeled on my BFF Murray; its triangular shape and size make it really easy to tie on Murray, and this month they sent him a smaller size (we usually receive extra large, but this month we received a medium) which fits Mur much better.

Fetch Pet Products Hatchables Turtle Toy - Retail Value $8.99

I don't think Murray will ever lose interest in this toy since this little turtle has many functions!

The shell part of this toy is hollow and has elastic around it so you can easily turn this little guy into himself to form a ball.

Another very entertaining way to use this toy is to put your hand into the turtle's shell and grab your pooch! Haha, trust me he'll love it! Murray loves chasing my hand with the turtle on it, especially when he is the victor of tug-of-war.

Bocce's Soft and Chewy Salmon Recipe Treats, 6 oz - Retail Value $7.50

Murray started his love affair with Bocce's treats, thanks to Dapper Dog, but none of their biscuit treats compare to the love Murray feels for these soft treats. They are very fragrant, keeping him begging for more!

He is obsessed. This recipe has a few more ingredients than their hard biscuits, but Bocce's is committed to keeping all of their ingredients 100% real with no cheap fillers.

Red Barn Natural Dental Treats Chew-A-Bulls - Estimated Value $2

According to the doggo, this treat is the show-stopper from this box. He would not leave me alone as I unboxed all of his goodies, and I had to chase after him 3 times because he kept stealing it from the box.

Needless to say, he really loves this bone. Red Barn provided this bone as a preview, just for Dapper Dog, so it will not be available to purchase until fall. I love that I can pronounce each ingredient, it is highly digestible, and it supports dental and gum health.

Max and Neo Lobster Toy - Retail Value $6.99

I was happy to see a different type of toy offered this month. This lobster seems a little more rugged than your typical plush, and I really like its look! There seems to have been a little bit of a stuffing leakage, but it didn't stop Murray from giving this guy a violent shake - no mercy!

This toy is made out of 100% polyester and includes one small squeaker in its midsection. Max & Neo donates one toy to a rescue for each toy they sell, which is definitely a company I can get behind; plus, Murray seems to like their product!

Verdict: Another winning box this month with a value (using retail and estimated prices) of $48.48. This month's box definitely kept Murray's interest, and he found a new favorite toy and treat this month. This month's box felt a little light, since we normally get either an extra product or treat to try out, but since every item was a winner for my boy, I think it was worth the cost.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, order before August 20th to receive the August box!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $35/month with a value of $48.48, giving each of the 5 items in the box an average cost of $9.70.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Is there a Dog box that does just treats? No toys, no bandannas – just treats? Two of my four boys just don’t give a flip about toys so I have a giant donation pile from my many years of Bark Box loyalty. I would subscribe in a second to a box that just sent treats, chews and cookies.

We love max and neo! I foster for an organization called passport for paws and we’ve been on the receiving end a few times with max and neo toys and gears. Our foster pups love it and it gives them a toy of their very own to start their second chance.

I love your doggy reviews! My BFF is also a Westie, so your pics always make me smile! My boy’s name is Rowdy and he looks a lot like Murray. ❤️
