CatLadyBox August 2019 Review
CatLadyBox is always full of fun, cat-themed lifestyle items. Let’s see what was in store for August:
I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month. And the back has more information about the items in the box. This month’s theme is an ecological one.
Buzz the Bee Wand Toy – Listed Value $5.99
This was something Angus particularly liked. The wings are made of something crinkly and iridescent. I think I would make the string about half the length, though. It was a little too long.
Manny the Meownatee Catnip Toy - Listed Value $5.99
Here is this month’s second toy. It has a soft, felt-like surface and Madison really wanted to snuggle with it (Monkey just rubbed his face on it).
Cattastic Stainless Steel Straws, Set of 4 – Listed Value $14.99
I’m extra happy that this included a bottle brush of an appropriate size for cleaning the straws. I have some glass straws at work and I kind of don’t like them (I think they’re too big) so I’ll probably take these in, instead. (If you are wondering, like I was, “what does this have to do with cats?”, these are engraved with cat-centered words and phrases, but I tried several times to capture this in a photo and it was just not working for me.)
Glass Water Bottle with Cat Sleeve – Listed Value $18.99
I think I will start keeping this next to my bed. Glasses of water are out, because I let several cats sleep in the bedroom with me, and I don’t want to “share” my water with them or have them knock it over. But this is definitely more environmentally friendly than a plastic water bottle.
"Cats Make the World a Better Place" Shirt – Listed Value $22.99
Here is this month’s shirt. I like that it goes in a different direction with color than some of the recent shirts. This will be good for weekend errands (lots of people notice my cat shirts when I’m out and about). Monkey and Sneaky helped me take photos, as you can see.
Angus plays with the bee toy. No, I have no idea why he wants to play with toys from this chair lately, but whatever. He’s a cat.
Madison really liked the manatee.
Madison and Sneaky investigate the manatee.
Sneaky decided not to bite this stick.
Monkey just wanted to rub his face on this. This was the only picture I got that showed any of his features at all.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $68.95 for the August 2019 (Crazy) CatLadyBox. I found the lifestyle items particularly practical this month and was pleased to see Madison actually enjoying a toy, which is something he doesn’t do too often. I liked how the toys tied into the ecological theme for the box.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Officially your subscription would start with September’s box, but way back when I signed up, I was contacted to say there were a few of the current month’s box left over and asked if I’d like one of those. So it may be worth inquiring.
