BomiBox Luxe June 2019 Review
This month's BomiBox is filled with ingredients to refresh, nourish, protect, and soothe your skin during the scorching hot summer months.
BomiBox has detailed info cards for each month’s box on their website. The info card provides a description of all the items included in the box and instructions on how to use them. This is great since a lot of the products have instructions that are not in English.
Nacific Fresh Herb Origin Serum, 1.69 oz – Retail Value $31.90
This antioxidant-rich serum promises to enhance skin elasticity, prevent premature wrinkles, balance oil, moisturize, and tone skin. Aloe Vera is used in place of purified water which has a calming effect on the skin.
This serum has a slight citrus scent that smells great, it's fast-absorbing, and not oily. I have a slight sunburn on my cheeks and this serum didn't irritate my skin and left it feeling hydrated.
Elensilia French Propolis 82* Resistem Gold Ampoule, 0.51 oz – Retail Value $12.50
This gold ampoule is made with 82% propolis extract which is a substance created by honeybees known for protecting, repairing, and soothing skin. It also contains niacinamide to brighten skin and Resistem and berry extracts to protect against signs of aging.
I love the gold flecks in this ampoule which gives the product a luxe look and feel. It has a very light scent which I liked but the texture of the ampoule is thick, and it felt tacky on my skin. I don’t think this will work well for me during these hot summer months, so I’ll hold on to it for now and try it again in the fall.
Pyunkang Yul Face Oil, 0.9 oz – Retail Value $23.10
This quick-absorbing oil hydrates and restores skin. It's made with a powerful blend of plant-based oils including jojoba seed, sunflower, geranium and rosemary oils.
Thumbs down! This oil is very thick and greasy on my skin. It does have a light fresh scent. I may end up repurposing this for my hands and elbows but will definitely not be using this on my acne-prone skin.
innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder, 0.17 oz – Retail Value $6.60
Apply this sebum control powder after makeup or sunscreen to absorb excess sebum from the skin. It helps balance oil and leaves skin bright and radiant.
This mineral powder is magical! My skin tends to get really oily halfway through a hot and sunny day. This mineral powder zapped the oil off my skin and left it feeling silky soft. I also didn’t have any issues applying this white mineral powder to my darker skin tone – it disappears once applied.
Duft & Doft Nourishing Hand Cream in Stockholm Rose, 0.3 oz – Estimated Retail Value $1.96 (Buy a full size for $9.80, found on sale here for $8.82)
This rich, fast-absorbing, and non-sticky hand cream contains shea butter and vitamins that leave skin moisturized and nourished. The rose fragrance smells great and is long-lasting.
This is one of my favorite hand creams! I have the full-size version in my purse right now. It takes your skin from ashy to moisturized in just a few seconds! It’s not greasy or sticky and has the perfect light and rosy scent.
Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel, 1.01 oz – Estimated Retail Value $4.95 (Buy full size here for $16.50)
This trial-size soothing gel contains aloe and propolis known to help soothe irritated skin, fade acne scars, brighten skin tone and provide all-day hydration. Because it’s antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, it's great for acne-prone skin.
Via BomiBox, I’ve discovered and come to enjoy Benton products! This gel absorbs nicely into my skin. It smells and feels fresh and leaves my skin looking hydrated and smooth.
I'm Sorry For My Skin Black Mud Mask - Tightening – Retail Value $4.50
This natural clay mask is made with volcanic ash and bentonite to draw out dirt and impurities from your pores and replace it with minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants.
A mud mask without the mess? Sign me up! This mask was a little awkward to put on – it comes in two pieces. It also took longer than expected to dry. However, the results were great! My skin felt super clean and only slightly tight and dry, unlike other mud masks that leave my skin extremely dry and irritated.
Leaders Ex Solution Mild Cotton Mask - Aqua Coating – Retail Value $2.20
This mask promises to hydrate dry and tight skin leaving it smooth and radiant. It’s made from natural cotton that hugs skin to allow better diffusion of the active essence.
The best thing about this mask is how soft and breathable it is. It left my skin feeling slightly more hydrated than before. I’ve tried other Leaders masks and this one is my favorite.
The Verdict: I enjoyed trying out all the products in this month’s box. The herb serum and the mineral powder were my favorite items. I am especially impressed by the mineral powder. Where has this been all my life? Also, the hand cream is a must-try. The face oil was a fail although it does contain good quality oil so it'll be repurposed for sure.
I liked the variety of products in this month's box – some from brands I've come to recognize and enjoy. There however was only one body product and it was a small sample size. I'd like to see maybe one more body product like soap, shower gel, or body oil.
This box cost $38.99 and has an estimated total value of $87.81. This is about the same value as the last box and is double the price of the box itself. This is a great value! BomiBox consistently delivers high value and the opportunity to try a wide range of unique Korean beauty products.
