Stitch Fix is a monthly clothing and styling subscription service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences. After choosing when you'd like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks 5 items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Stitch Fix for Women July 2019 Review

This is the invoice that was sent in the box. As you can see, it provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items. My total came to $216, but with the 25% off (which they take off BEFORE deducting the $20!) and the $20 credit, my total drops down to $142. That’s a savings of $74 on these items.

This is my style sheet that includes a note from my stylist and features the five items I received along with different outfit suggestions and accessories that might pair well with them. My stylist is Kacey and she does an awesome job of checking out my Pinterest page for ideas of what I like!

Mavi Jake Cuffed Short, Size 10 - Cost to Keep $58

These shorts (pictured below) are nice and I love the wash and slight fade along with that rolled cuff. Unfortunately, I just bought an inexpensive pair the other day because I wasn't quite sure what my Fix would have in it and I needed another pair before we left for the beach! These are much nicer than the pair I bought and they fit really well so had I not just bought the other pair, these would have been keepers!

Papermoon Elaria Keyhole Knit Top, Size L - Cost to Keep $34

I love the silhouette of this shirt with the keyhole top and that halter neckline, but I wasn't as crazy about the material or the pattern. This felt really busy to me and I didn't like it as much on me as I thought I would. It's cute and comfortable and fit me well, but I just didn't love it.

Tinsel Millicent Short, Size 10 - Cost to Keep $38

These shorts were unexpected due to their bright color, but they fit nicely and are comfortable. I do really like them and for $38 I think the quality is really nice - nicer than some of the shorts they have sent that retail for more actually! They are a thicker material, soft and more dressy than your average shorts. I think I could easily dress these up or down though. They have a hook closure and an extra button along with a zipper as well as side pockets and back pockets. You can see them pictured below with the next top.

Alice Blue Havana Halter Blouse, Size L - Cost to Keep $38

This is the perfect tropical, beachy top! The material is light and flowy and will be forgiving when I am enjoying my favorite beach meal of fish tacos and strawberry margaritas! 😉 This is a lot bolder in design than what I would normally choose, but I really love it and I think it looks great with the yellow shorts. This outfit, while not too crazy, is a bit outside my normal comfort zone, which makes this one of the reasons I enjoy this service - it forces me to try something new!

Here is the top paired with jean shorts. I love how different the two looks are!

French Grey Alonia Brushed Knit Dress, Size L - Cost to Keep $48

This dress was soft and the pattern was pretty, but I didn't really like the neckline and overall, I just didn't like it enough to keep it. The knit material, while soft, felt like it might be a bit too thick for a summer dress and I had doubts about how breathable it would be on a hot day. If this had sleeves then I might have considered it for a fall dress to pair with some leggings, but the pattern might be just a bit too busy for me, anyway!

The Verdict: I had requested some shorts and a few tops for the beach from my Stitch Fix stylist and I think she totally delivered! The shorts she sent were perfect and I LOVE that tropical top. The other two pieces were nice, too, and probably should have been my style, but for some reason, I just wasn't feeling the busy patterns this time. Now that I have a stylist who totally gets my style and is working hard to send me the types of pieces I am looking for, this experience has become one I look forward to each month. Having items picked out just for me and sent to my door so that I can try them on in the comfort of my own home is so convenient! It is definitely worth the $20 styling fee each month for me!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $216. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all 5 items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the box is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $142. That’s a discount of around 34% for these items.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I remember after you had your baby how you kept talking about losing weight and how things fit, etc…just wanted to say that you look great! (Honestly should’ve said it back then, because you did then, too! But I can see your hard work paying off 🙂 )

Thank you so much MrsLittle! 🙂 I have been working hard and it’s so nice of you to acknowledge it! ♥️

Maybe I am a minority here but if I encounter an article of clothing that fits well, is unreasonably priced, and will get moderate use, I snatch it up – even if I already have something like it. Especially in pants and shorts. Get the denim shorts! They are cute on you.

Wow, Brandi, you look great but oddly enough I think that dress looks spectacular on you. I also thought the keyhole blouse looked cute too but funny that you didn’t like them.

Thanks, Flora! And I don’t know why I’m being so picky this month! Lol. Those are both normally styles I would be all about! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have lowest prices on all clothes selected and with discount mine runs around $250 I’m jealous every month when I see your reviews. I even specifically comment after every fix the cheaper the better.

I also have this issue! They also continue to send me a piece a fall in love with every month that is 88 dollars which is way above the 50 per piece item I have set. I have yet to see a piece in my fix that has been under 48 dollars and those tend to be ugly tops that I keep asking them to not send.

I have this issue, too, and I wonder if it depends on style and size differences.

Wow! That’s crazy! Do you get the same stylist each month? Customer service is pretty receptive so I’d definitely recommend reaching out if you haven’t already. 🙁
