Stitch Fix Kids July 2019 Review
In every Stitch Fix Kids box, they include a pre-paid shipping envelope for returns.
I think it is cute that the information sheet has a maze on it for your kid, plus stickers, and the inside flaps of the shipping box have some activities and ideas for how to play with the box, too!
Here's the item list of the clothing they selected for my son, and their individual prices. The items total $190 but with my $20 styling fee applied, and the keep-everything 25% off discount, the total adds up to be $122.50.
The reverse of that card shows photos of each item (which I love because it makes it easy to reference the pricing sheet).
Capsule Rameen Woven Short Sleeve Textured Button Down, Size S - Cost to Keep $22
This is a cute, well-made shirt. It's sort of like a dark chambray fabric. The fit is pretty good, with a little room to grow into. I can see this pairing well with khaki bottoms or even some sage green skinny pants or something. You can see Gideon wearing this below.
Tailor Vintage Chuck Stretch Twill Walking Short with Functional Drawstring, Size 4/5 - Cost to Keep $18
I will make sure my son has good khaki/tan shorts in every size! The fit of these is spot on for Gideon and I love the functional drawstring. I can tell these will hold up, too, because they have a good quality weight to them. Plus, the fabric has some nice stretch to it.
Tailor Vintage André Short Sleeve Performance Polo, Size 4/5 - Cost to Keep $18
We received a grey version of this polo in a previous box and my son really loves how soft it is. I also like how the neckline stays together without buttons, which helps it slide over his head easily and it doesn't flop open weird or look like he needs it clasped.
Capsule Andy Hybrid Surf N Turf Short, Size 4T - Cost to Keep $18
These twill shorts are great but they were the only item this month that didn't really fit. The fabric is a fast-drying, lightweight twill that is a denim color. They're a nice length and well-made, too. The only issue is that I could hardly get the waistband buttoned! Every other part of them fit, though, so I worry if we asked for a size up they'd be too big.
NASA Short Sleeve Graphic Tee, Size 4T - Cost to Keep $14
Yes! NASA! My dad has always loved everything having to do with space and NASA, so I have a soft spot for space stuff on my kids' clothes. This tee is so cute, and says "Go on an adventure."
Odin & Ivy the Classic Long Sleeve Raglan Graphic Tee, Size XS - Cost to Keep $16
Another super adorable space-themed graphic tee. How cute is this gumball machine graphic? It reminds me of Men in Black. The raglan style is one I really like on Gideon and the fit was good. I'm just not sure if I'm up for purchasing long sleeve shirts yet? It's like 100 degrees outside, and it probably won't be cool enough for long sleeve shirts until late October or November.
RUMI + RYDER The Classic Everyday Slim Track Pant, Size XS - Cost to Keep: $24
Okay, I have to know if they make these track pants in my size. The second I touched them I was so surprised by how soft they are! They are also light, breathable, and stretchy. We definitely kept these.
Tailor Vintage Émilie Long Sleeve Stripe Hooded Tee, Size 4/5 - Cost to Keep $18
The colors on this hooded tee are fantastic together. It's a well-constructed long sleeve tee, and I like it, but I have the same concerns about it being a little too soon to buy long sleeves. This may be something we keep in mind and request in a later Fix to make sure it'll fit in the time frame Gideon will get wear out of it.
Sovereign Code Alden Elastic Waist Fashion Short, Size 4 - Cost to Keep $18
I appreciate the quality of these shorts; they're much better made than what we'd pick up at the stores we typically shop at. The navy material has good structure to it and you know I always love a functional drawstring. I think Gideon has all the shorts he really needs this season, though.
RUMI + RYDER The Classic Short Sleeve Two Piece Tight Fit Sleepwear, Size 4T - Cost to Keep $24
More space prints! We kept a pair of RUMI + RYDER PJs just like this but in a different print in a previous box, and I love these, too. His room is the hottest in the house, so having nice pajamas with short sleeves and shorts is perfect.
The Verdict: This month's Stitch Fix Boys for Gideon was great! Such a nice turnaround from last month just not quite hitting the spot. I feel like a broken record when I say I'm happy with the quality of everything Stitch Fix sends us, but it's true; the pieces we've kept over the months have held up very well. I think the prices are pretty reasonable for the quality, too. It's nice that they send so many items per box - even if you just want to pick one item so you don't lose out on your styling fee, it's not hard to find at least one thing to love without spending much more than you already have with your fee.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what we got, but you will probably get something that fits your child's style and size even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!
Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 (styling fee) with free shipping and returns. The total value of the items inside is $190 according to Stitch Fix's invoice sheet. The invoice lists the cost of each individual item, and if I were to keep all of them then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the box is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $122.50 if I kept everything. That's a total discount of about 34%.
