the package for my savage x fenty june 2019 review

Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty lingerie line recently announced its Xtra VIP membership—a clothing shopping subscription plan that works a lot like Fabletics and ShoeDazzle.

Each month, new lingerie looks are added to their size- and skin-tone-inclusive catalog, which features a mix of flirty, romantic, and casual pieces. Shop for something new, skip the month to avoid a charge, or have $49.95 saved to your account to use in the future. Members also get discounts off retail prices all month long, plus first dibs on limited edition products.

Each month, Savage X Fenty curates a new “Xtra VIP box” of new lingerie styles and cheeky accessories. They go fast, but I’ve been pleased with the value I’ve gotten from each collection. I’ll be reviewing the June box today!

Savage X Fenty Xtra “Babydoll Lace” by Molly Constable VIP Box Review for June 2019

Here’s the info card that came with the box. On the back, there’s a rundown of the accessories in the box (including pasties and a mini flask), and on the front, there’s a quote from model Molly Constable, who curated this month’s box with Savage X Fenty. Here’s what she says:

I’m so excited to be the first guest curator of the Xtra VIP Box! When wearing these pieces, you get a sense of danger and playfulness—you feel powerful, beautiful, and with the impactful message of inclusivity, it’s hard not to LOVE.

Savage X Fenty Iridescent Heart Pasties – Retail Value $12.00, VIP Price $9.00

I’m not the type to wear pasties around, but if I ever become that type, these are the kind of pasties I’d want! These hearts are covered in a tight pattern of iridescent dots that reminds me of the pin-dots that make up an image in a newspaper. They have a mermaid quality to them, flashing turquoise, indigo, purple, magenta, or yellow depending on how the light hits them. There’s a good bit of stick on each heart, too, so you don’t have to worry about them slipping out of place.

Savage x Fenty Mini Flask – Retail Value $1.00

I love this sassy little flask! The ever-changing, mood-ring-like colors are super cool, and I mean, how could you not feel hip with a flask dangling from your keys? Now, this flask can only hold about a shot’s worth of booze inside, so I won’t be going wild with this little guy. I wonder how CBD oil would survive in a stainless steel flask…

Babydoll Lace Bra Top, Size Medium – Retail Value $56.00, VIP Price 44.00

I don’t know if this bra is a look that I’d have thought to seek out for myself. It has a floaty ruffle that cascades down to about hip-level in the back and swoops up to crop-top length in the front. Definitely a new look for my lingerie drawer. I was worried it’d be a bit too romantic for my tastes, but the turquoise color and black lace make this design feel fresh and cool—not overly sweet or precious. This bra secures around the front with a hook closure. There’s also a tie closure that sits on top of that. The look is unlined and sheer, which is honestly just so nice for lounging around on a hot, humid summer evening.

          • lacy turquoise panty with ribbon ties at each hip

Babydoll Lace Panties, Size Large – Retail Value $18.50, VIP Price $14.50

The box includes a pair of matching panties, too. (Does anyone else hate the word “panties”? I just don’t like it—I don’t know why!) They have ribbon-tied sides, so that a bow sits on each hip. It’s a super cute, flirty touch and more comfortable than I expected it to be. The front and back have a bit of a pouf to them, and the fabric (but for the gusset—yet another funny word, haha)—is unlined.

The Verdict: I’m a fan of this Savage X Fenty Xtra VIP box! This program is really helping me push the boundaries of my lingerie drawer in an easy, convenient way. I’m really delighted by how well everything fits my (somewhat curvier, broader) body, and I’m digging the unique styles they feature each month. The little extras are fun, too—I can’t wait to put that flask to work!

            To Wrap Up:

Can I get these pieces if I sign up today? No! As of publication, this box is sold out. Sign up now to get access to other VIP products! Or shop some of the individual items using the links above.

Value Breakdown: This five-item box cost $59.95 + FREE shipping + $3.32 tax for a total of $63.27. The retail value I found for the items in the box is $87.50 (not including tax), meaning the Xtra Box saved me about 28%. If I, as a VIP member, purchased the items a la carte, the cost would be $68.50 (not including tax). In other words, the box offers the best value. Proportionally, here’s about what each individual item in the Xtra VIP box cost:

            • Pasties: $8.68
            • Flask: $0.72
            • Babydoll Top: $40.49
            • Babydoll Bottoms: $13.34

            1. I thought I was alone in HATING the word panties. Even typing it made me cringe. 🤮🤮🤮

            2. I HATE the word Panties. Even typing it makes me cringe. So glad I’m not the only one.

            3. I also don’t like that word. I think we hate it because adding “y” to a perfectly good word is something you do with little kids (like making “mom” “mommy”, or “dog” “doggy”). Referring to women’s underwear in something that sounds juvenile makes our skin crawl.

            4. ugh – hate the word panties as well. Also hate “moist.”

            5. I feel like panties is a word for little girls, not grown women. I love the inclusive sizes, however, my 36g/h isn’t available/offered. Boo, I was really interested in this sub too. I know I can size up in the band and down in the cub, but 38 rides up, it’s juuuuuust a bit big, so I don’t size up.

              • Where do you usually buy your bras? I’m 34 G -H and finding cute bras seems like a mission impossible. I’ve got good look with Natori and Le Mystere regarding the size but havent found anything that cute.

              • Would you care yo share where do you find cute I brassieres? I’m 34 g/h and is mission imposible to find something sexy that fits properly. In the past I’ve had luck with Natori and Le Mystere but havent found anything that I like in the last couple of months.

                • Following this thread because I wear a 36G and it’s an exercise in futility to find a bra that a 35 year old would wear and feel good in. Soma bras fit me beautifully, BUT 1) I don’t want a minimizer- I paid for these puppies and I’m not trying to hide them. 2) I don’t want bras that go into my armpits. Makes it really hard / impossible to wear tank tops or sleeveless, which I live in. I absolutely hate my bra showing. 3) I want some sexy styles! All the pretty ones go up to about a 36DDD and then the bigger boobs get plain black, white, ivory, and occasionally an aqua or pink option thrown in there (which always sell out the fastest!)
Anyway- done with my rant. Anyone have recommendations? LOL

            6. I find the “P” word disgusting. My husband and teen boys find it hilarious to say it to gross me out. They’re underwear, drawers or undercrackers here.

            7. I think panties is so creepy because it has both a babyish and sexualized connotation. An Atlantic writer described it like this

“The addition of the suffix “-ies” (or in the singular form, “-y”) converts the word into a diminutive. Literally: “little pants.” The suffix puts it in the same category as “booties” and “blankies”-words often associated with small children. In fact, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, the first known use of “panties” is from a 1908 set of instructions for making doll clothes. “The undergarment is … easily made, for the little waist and panties are cut in one piece.” Women, it seems, would rather not shimmy into a garment whose name would also suggest they are shimmying into a pair of knee socks and saddle shoes and handed an oversized lollipop. the word is also a sexual word. If you don’t agree, picture your father or grandfather. Now picture him saying “panties.” I admire the woman who doesn’t shudder.

              I agree. It’s super creepy 😂

            8. Panties is the worst word. I just say underwear for all varieties of undergarments. You could say drawers, or maybe lady briefs? Coochie covers? 😆 Ok I’m going too far.

              • I guess those are better than taco shell.

                • I’m cracking up! This one takes the cake.

                • 🤭

              • Oh Sarah, I too hate…is that too strong a word? Dislike the word panties! They have always been and always will be underwear or undies to my 4 yr old granddaughter. Lol

            9. I just had to comment because I also hate the word ‘panties’. Lol. My husband thinks I’m crazy and laughs at me but it’s just one of those word that creep me out. I shop for underwear lol. I’m glad to see I’m not alone in my aversion to the word but aside rom that it is a pretty cute set!! Great review-enjoy your goodies!

              • I always told my husband that creepers say panties, he doesn’t say it anymore. I don’t know why it’s a gross word but it is. Glad I’m not the only one!

              • SAME!! Creepy to the max and my hubs says that word all the time just to bug me! Ugh! 😠🤣

            10. we call them all “underpants” in this house, regardless of style or sexiness, because it’s a much funnier word.

              • same! and i think “underpants” is actually sexier simply because it is so funny.

              • Same here! Underpants is a nice, accurate unisex word for the item you wear under your pants.
