July 2019 No Make No Life Box "Summer Essentials" Review

The booklet list gives you detailed information on each item, as well as instructions on how to use certain products. This month's theme is 'Summer Essentials.'

Prreti Pure White Milk Cream, 1.76 oz - Retail Value $8.37 (Currently on sale for $3.89)

This white face cream contains milk protein and floral extracts. It smells really clean and creamy, and is on the thinner side. I found that it absorbed pretty quickly and left my skin feeling soft and hydrated. Though it is a face cream, the booklet says it also can be used for a body cream as well.

Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick - Retail Value $5.98 (currently on sale for $3.21)

I like this shimmery champagne eye stick. It is a mix of fine champagne shimmer and chunkier silver flakes and with a gentle hand, it goes on quite subtle and sheer. Need more sparkle? It is totally buildable! I thought it looked very pretty on my eyes but I could also see this working as a general highlighter.

The Saem Yum Yum Lip Stain - Retail Value $7.67 (Currently on sale for $4.03)

As soon as I saw the gold coral color of this stain, I immediately got excited. The cute ketchup-inspired bottle was an added bonus! Sadly, the texture was a dud for me. It feels a lot more like a lip paint than a stain, and you have to use quite a lot of it to get that color payoff. Although it smells like delicious peaches, it has zero taste, which is kind of weird for such a strong-smelling formula.

Kokostar Foot Moisture Pack - Retail Value $3.75 (Currently on sale for $2.12)

This foot mask was ok. Truthfully, I never notice a huge difference with foot masks unless they are serious peels. My feet are too dry to really benefit! The masks were like cute little socks and smelled really nice. If your feet are just in need of a little bit of extra moisture, you will probably get more out of this than I did!

Sakura Blotting Paper and Bandage Set - Retail Value $0.95 (currently on sale for $0.77)

I am going to admit that I found this set a little silly. Since the papers are loose, they explode all over your purse and there are very few of them. I think I was spoiled with my little booklets of 60 that stay nice and neat. Also included were two bandaids, which is a weird complement to blotting papers. How hard are you blotting??

Choosy Air In Beauty Gummy - Retail Value $2.74 (currently on sale for $1.97)

These gummies are meant to boost your hair, nails, and lips. Containing collagen, calcium, hyaluronic acid, and dietary fiber, I am sure they do something beneficial, but this pack likely won't last long enough to tell a huge difference. The lips were super cute, and the peach flavor was mild.

Frill Makeup Pouch - Retail Value $5.24 (currently on sale for $3.46)

This makeup pouch is so cute! Unbelievably girly, and in my favorite shade of blush, it is a perfect makeup bag or small clutch. The inside is waterproof so no worries about leaking products.

Hatomugi UV Milky Gel, 2.3 oz - Retail Value $6.70 (currently on sale for $3.56)

You know your girl loves sunscreen! This formula has SPF 31 and it is so lightweight! It is more of a gel than a cream and it absorbs almost instantly, leaving no residue behind. It is actually so light that it doesn't feel like moisturizer at all, which suits me fine since by the time I am applying sunscreen, I likely already have some on. I already have this stuff tossed in my purse because it is so effortless to apply and leaves behind ZERO stickiness.

Verdict: No Make No Life Box had some really interesting things this month. As usual, I either really love or dislike each product. The winners for me were the milky cream, sunscreen gel, pouch, and eye stick. The things I wasn't super into were the remaining blotting set and the gummies. I really, really want to like the lip stain and I know that most people will like the foot mask because they don't have monster feet. Even though I have yet to love everything in this box in a month, I still find myself really enjoying this subscription because the products are so different from anything here in the States. I still have some issues with the overall value, especially since everything this month was coincidentally on sale. The full retail value is around $41.40, which is more than the $35 box cost. If you add up the sale prices, the total comes to $23.01, which doesn't feel great. Generally, I always stick to retail values, but I felt the need to include the sale total because literally, everything in this box was on sale from the subscription's own shop.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but as of publication, there are 21 days left to order the August box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $35.00 + free shipping, which means that each of the 8 items in the box has an average cost of $4.38.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I love the idea of this box but the value never seems to be there, at least enough for me to sub. I’d rather make my own box elsewhere.

I’m really disappointed in this box, the value is NEVER there and they’re really low end brands and products. Lame.

I had to crack up at “monster feet”!! My oldest says I have “hobbit feet” because I spend so much time barefoot that my calluses have calluses! LOL I can’t imagine any sock or cream will do much to truly help me and my poor feet. 🙂

SPF 31: When SPF 30 is just not enough, but SPF 40 seems insane.

Good to know to buy separately in the shop. I find some of the Japanese sites are the same. The bonus is you can pick what you want.

LOVE the pouch!

“how hard are you blotting?” made me LOL. Good point though! It was an odd inclusion.
