May 2019 Marvel Gear + Goods 'Re-Assemble' Review

back of info card info card with product details

It arrives with an information card that details the items in your box. It doubles nicely as frameable art, too.

Avengers Endgame Pin

As usual, our box comes with a theme-appropriate pin! Since this is a May box and the film came out 4/26, I feel like they missed the Endgame hype by a bit. It is still a very cool collectible pin.

Avengers Endgame T-shirt

This navy tee features our fave Avenger heroes in an all-blue graphic. I like the blue, on blue, on blue look!

Avengers Socks

These are some of the most highly detailed novelty socks I have ever seen. They are completely covered in an illustration with Avenger heroes. The cut would make them a really fun addition to a suit, though when you stretch them out the graphic distorts.

Avengers Recipe Card Set

I can't say I have ever seen recipe cards come in this subscription! Featuring really easy ingredient suggestions, these will likely be really fun for an Avenger fan who isn't really into cooking yet and wants to try out some basic but tasty dishes inspired by their fave hero.

Infinity Stone Napkin Ring Set

Ok, I am weirdly way into these. I have never gotten napkin rings in a subscription, and even without the Avengers reference, I can't help but find the shiny gold and multicolored stones really charming. They are also surprisingly heavy! Major props to the curators for such a unique item!

Verdict: This Marvel Gear + Goods box was super late, but that is, sadly, really common with Loot Crate. They kind of missed the height of the Endgame hype, but fans should still be really thrilled with this box. I especially loved the napkin rings, but even the recipes were unique contributions. The shirt design was well done, and of course, the pin was nice too! My only other gripe aside from the lateness was that although the socks were super cool, they look really bad when they are actually on a foot due to stretching. All in all, I thought this was a pretty cool box!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first theme will be displayed on the landing page.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $41.99 after shipping, so each of the 5 items has an average cost of $8.40.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Loot crate is a busted company. No longer giving them any business

I’ve already contacted Liz about looking into Loot Crates shady business practices since laying off 150 employees in May and outsourcing their shipping. Little or nothing has shipped since then.

I’m not really sure why MSA is continuing to promote them in light of recent events. Just check out all the BBB complaints and the Facebook Loot Crate Delay Discussion Group.

DO NOT give this company your money. You will only cause yourself frustration and aggravation…

Thanks again for messaging me. We’re currently investigating and will have a post live about Loot Crate soon.

I can’t say I’m overly impressed by this box. The recipe cards as an item seem like a joke, especially in the age of the internet. As I always consider the pin to be an extra, that means this box is just a t-shirt and some napkin rings. Oh, and the socks, which are pretty much unusable. If they were knit socks and not just the printed on stuff (that I’m always disappointed to get in my loot socks sub) It would seem like a better value.

I’d feel badly if I gifted this box to a teen.

Also the napkin rings are cool, but many don’t seem to cook so much now days.
Have to go out of the norm to actually use & work all that into a nice meal instead of sitting in a box for years.
