Look Fantastic July 2019 "The Hydration Edition" Review

Each box comes with a booklet that tells you more about the products included with tips on how to use them. This month's theme is "hydration."

I always love keeping Look Fantastic boxes around to store makeup, jewelry, and other important things in because they are always so sturdy and beautiful.

We also received a few UK exclusive promos.

Now, on to the items!

Elemis Hydra-Balance Day Cream, 20 ml - Estimated Value $25.20 (Buy a full-size 50 ml for $63.00 )

I rather liked this day cream! It has a great herbal scent and absorbs very fast. Because it is so lightweight, it gave my skin some morning moisture without leaving a filmy or greasy film. I liked it so much I mixed a little with my highlighter gel and applied it all over my face for an effortless no-makeup look glow.

Aromatherapy Associates Revive Body Gel, 40 ml - Estimated Value $14.61 (Buy a full-size 200 ml for $54.00)

I thought this was a shower gel, but it is actually a body fragrance gel you can use anywhere! It smells strongly of grapefruit and herbs like rosemary, along with a sharp juniper scent. It was strong but not so much that I couldn't also wear my perfume and I think that it gave my fragrance a spicy depth that I enjoyed. It wasn't super moisturizing but still made my skin feel fresh.

Vitamasques Gold Eye Mask - Retail Value $7.90

I so needed these today! My husband and I are in the middle of remodeling our bedroom, and we just moved our bed to another room across the house. The different light patterns are driving me crazy. You can see cars driving by all night long. I have a new set of curtains I plan on installing later tonight, but last night's sleep was bad, and IT SHOWS. These little pads brought some brightness back to my undereye circles and give my delicate skin a lot of moisture, instantly!

GLOV On-The-Go Hydro Cleanser - Retail Value $15.70

I have a few makeup removers, but none of them are mitts! This little glove is perfect for scrubbing off makeup with just water and the little tag loop is perfect for hanging to dry.

Naobay Illuminating Micellar Water - Listed Value $13.78 (£11.00)

I really like this brand, and I was excited by this big bottle of micellar water! It has a soft scent that reminds me of fresh air and wet flowers. Because it has both micellar water and aloe, it easily removes makeup and gives your skin a little hydration. I might have to keep this at work to gently remove the many swatches I draw all over myself all day!

Eyeko Fat Eye Stick in Gilt, 4 g - Estimated Value $13.33 (Buy a trio for $40, currently sold out)

Finally, our last item is a chubby eye pencil in a lovely burnt bronze shade. It has a smooth and effortless glide application and the metallic pigment is rich and shimmering. Though it is a bit dark for summer, I think this would be perfect for smokey fall eyes.

I thought the color was really pretty!

And this box includes the latest issue of  Elle UK Magazine:

The Verdict: Look Fantastic Beauty Box had a nice mix of items this month. I absolutely loved the cleansing water, day cream, and the eye pads. I also enjoyed the aromatherapy gel and I can't wait to create a dramatic eye look with the pencil. The value of this box is around $86.71 (not including the magazine), which is very nice for a $19 box. I always love the informative booklet and the UK version of Elle. This is a great sub for someone who wants to explore harder-to-find beauty brands.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! (This page will let you know what box is currently available.)

Value Breakdown: At $19 for this box, here is approximately what you are paying per product:

  • Elemis Day Cream $5.52
  • Vitamasques Eye Pads $1.73
  • Aromatherapy Associates Gel $2.37
  • Glov $3.44
  • Eyeko Eye Stick $2.92
  • Naobay Water $3.02

Alternatively, the average cost of each of the 6 items is $3.17.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I tried to buy this but it added shipping fees to it. What is the work-around for that please? I see above that there are no shipping fees. Thanks.

Just pray that you never fail to receive one of your boxes from this company because you will get zero help from customer service–they don’t seem to care whether their customers ate happy or not. They just told me how I can cancel if I want.

So true. The customer service at Look Fantastic has gone dramatically downhill.

I have never been disappointed by my Look Fantastic boxes. I have had an annual subscription for about 2 years and paying $16.00 per box feels like a great value to me.

That IS a great value!

Did anyone well last notice that the coupon they sent expired last January 😄 That gave me a good laugh!
I love LF sub, it really is the best quality all around. Never disappointed. I think the glove works surprisingly well. I got the dark eye pencil and covered it with a lighter glittery color from Ipsy to tone it down, it wound up looking pretty good. I’m glad someone liked the body gel, I thought it was way too strong… And I used it in the shower thinking it was body wash before I read this review lol

It’s probably September 1st written in the European format, not January 9 … 😉

Oh yeah, I always forget that we do everything backwards here

I tried the Aromatherapy Gel on my boyfriend and he loved the scent and the cooling effect it had on his skin. I might end up getting the full size for him, it is hard to find products like these that he actually likes.

I loved everything really except the Eyeko stick, I received Smoke and it is a dark gray. While it is a pretty color, I would only really use it as an eyeliner, and it is far too fat for that. I will probably see if one of my daughter’s can get more use from it than I can.

I just used the last of my micellar water, so this nice big bottle came at the perfect time! Oddly enough I haven’t had a chance to try the Glov yet, I have only been subbing to beauty boxes for a year and this is the first one I’ve gotten!

This is one sub box that doesn’t ever truly disappoint me.

Check the swap boards or sites like Poshmark or Mercari. We got a full size of the De-stress blend from FFF a couple of seasons back. It’s also lovely

Thanks for the tip, I will take a look! ☺

“I might have to keep this at work to gently remove the many swatches I draw all over myself all day!” I’m jealous. lol! If only my job required me to apply swatches all day (one can dream 😉 ). If only micellar water could remove the “swatches” of pen, highlighter, and permanent marker I get on my hands all day (I’m a lefty, so it’s inevitable I get smudges all over my left hand) I’d be set. lol!

I typically don’t open my products until I’m ready to use them, but I couldn’t help myself with trying the Aromatherapy Associates body gel on my hands, and I loved how spa-like it smelled! I know I shouldn’t expect anything less from that brand. lol I liked how it felt moisturizing as I was applying it, but it did seem to fully sink in after like 30 seconds of massaging it in, leaving my skin feeling like I applied nothing at all, so I can see how this could seem like it doesn’t add my moisture. I’m still looking forward to give it a real go after a shower though. 🙂

It is a pretty dreamy gig, I have to say! I also admire your restraint to not open everything right away. Even after box after box, I still have zero self-control when it comes to opening things.

I always order their limited edition box, but this was the first time I ordered the regular sub and I really liked it!!
