This month's palette is called "Flocking Fabulous." It's packaged inside a matching cardboard sleeve.

Oh my. These are really bold! I don't even know where to start! They are so over-the-top summery and bright, but aside from the browns and the metallic coppery shade, I have no experience here. Let's start with swatches.

Here are the first 5. Top to bottom: Beach Bum (matte), Coconut (matte), Sunset (matte), Sundaze (matte), Palm Tree (shimmer). The two top browns could be a little smoother, but I am really impressed with how bright that yellow and orange are!

The shimmers from top to bottom: Banana Leaf (shimmer), Tangerine (shimmer), Flock Star (shimmer), Glamingo (shimmer), What the Flock (shimmer)

These were smooth and highly pigmented. The last color was a little "chunkier" than the other shimmers, but still went on beautifully.

I have to say this again: These colors are WILD and totally out of my comfort zone. I reached out to a makeup artist friend and she shared a look she had seen recently from Samantha Ravndahl on Instagram with very similar colors:

Ok, cute! I decided to give it a try! This is the part where I tell you I am not a makeup artist and once again, have no idea what I am doing when it comes to these bold neon shades.

Here is what I came up with. I used Flock Star over most of my lids and blended it out to soften it. I added a little bit of Sundaze to the outer edge. I lined my lower lid with Glamingo and softened it with a brush. I think the general idea of this look is there, but I could absolutely use a little more practice blending such vibrant colors.

Would I ever wear this look out? Probably not. I always reach for neutral shades and don't really ever wear a ton of makeup. But even I have to admit that this look was really fun! What was (for me) a rather intimidating palette became more like an art project, especially when I was trying to replicate other looks. Maybe this is a new hobby for me? Colors like this make me appreciate even more the artistry and skill that goes into those amazing seamless looks created by makeup artists.

The Verdict: This limited edition ShadowMe palette felt really unique. The colors were bold and super summery, and like nothing I have in my collection. While these might be colors that someone with more experience might get more out of, I did have a lot of fun trying to create looks with them after I got over how intimidated I was by the neons.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this palette if I sign up today?: Yes, but LiveGlam expects this palette to go FAST! You must be a member to buy this palette, but if you are a new member, you can use the LiveGlam trade feature to pick it as your first palette.

Limited Time Deal: From Tuesday, July 2nd - Tuesday, July 9th new members can score TWO lippies with this link

Value Breakdown: If you picked this palette as your monthly palette, each of the 10 eyeshadows has an average cost of $1.99.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I would like to make a reply back on my statement: first of all I am a woman of age. and I tell the truth about things so young children can learn; making criticism should help some one not hurt some one after all we learn from our own mistakes..megan said herself she did not know what she was doing…and wearing pink would be for children, not for classy women..so there may be a difference in what you read; so don’t take reading so harsh..after all an expression is one’s view.

You did a better job of working that palette than I could have! 🙂 I like the bright pink on you, looks great with your eyes and skin! I almost got this palette for my youngest, she loves bright, fun colors but hesitated. I think after reading this and looking at your results I will go ahead and get it. She will have a lot of fun playing with these colors and creating new looks.

Thanks for stepping outside your comfort zone for our benefit 😀 It is appreciated!

Aww Twyla, thank you! I hope your daughter has fun with these bright colors. Hopefully, I will become better and better as I review these palettes more, but thanks for bearing with me while I am a total amateur!

It doesn’t look like pink eye, just needs a little blending. I work in a fun, hip place so I get to experiment with vibrant makeup and have been really into the neon palettes I’ve been receiving in sub boxes lately! It’s all about how you wear it 😉

Blending is something I struggle with because too much and you have a muddy mess! This box is one of those that I find challenging, but super fun. Thanks for reading Ramona. 🙂

I think the bright pop of color actually looks really good on you! I can relate in that I dont wear tons of makeup either, although I have all the basics. Recently I decided to improve my eye makeup skills and purchased a couple low cost but good quality palettes (BH cosmetics, colourpop etc) in neutrals and a few “wild” ones. I committed to practicing one look a couple times a week (mostly on no makeup days before I showered so if it looked too crazy I could wash it off lol) At first I was way out of my comfort zone but the more I practiced the more comfortable I got and actually noticed the quality of my looks improving! I used YouTube & Instagram tutorials as a guide. I still don’t wear neon looks out and about but it’s nice to know I can work with brighter colors if i feel like it or have the occasion to wear a more daring look. So yes look at it as an art project and it can be a fun hobby and improve your skills at the same time!

It’s a shame because after watching so many Youtube tutorials my skills have sadly not improved.

For someone who isn’t proficient in makeup or use of those kind of colors I think you did fairly well attempting to recreate that look Megan, it takes time and skills furthermore you TRIED.

Thanks Karen! These brights are absolutely something I find challenging. With the height of summer approaching, I am sure I will have more bright palettes to experiment with. Those Youtube videos are mandatory for me.
