Kinder Beauty Box Summer Collection 2019 Review

Kinder Summer LE info 1 Kinder Summer LE info 2

Here is the info sheet for the products included.

Kinder Summer LE serum 1 Kinder Summer LE serum 2

Flower Mill Vitamin C Facial Serum, 1 0z - Full-Size! Retail Value $75

This is a vitamin C serum made with steam-distilled citrus essential oils like grapefruit, lemon peel, and tangerine, and it is in a base of coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and safflower oil. Coconut is a pretty big acne trigger for my skin, so since that was the first ingredient on this serum I knew I should avoid using it on my face. Luckily, my face is not the only part of my body with hyperpigmentation! I have been using this on parts of my body that have scars, and I am happy with how moisturizing this is without being greasy. It is too soon to see if this can help permanently reduce the dark marks, but if you are using any kind of vitamin C serum please make sure to wear SPF 30 on top!

Kinder Summer LE glov 1 Kinder Summer LE glov 2 Kinder Summer LE glov 3

The GLOV On-the-Go Makeup Remover - Retail Value $12.99

I don't know *why* microfiber cloths work to remove makeup with just water, all I know is that they do. This is handy because you slide it onto your fingers like a glove before adding water and rubbing, and all-in-all this does a bang-up job when you consider no soap was used. I still like to go in with micellar water after using to get any remaining traces, and I probably would skip this if I was wearing heavy-duty makeup just for convenience's sake.

Kinder Summer LE lip crayon

PHB Ethical Beauty Organic Lip Crayon in Peach, 4g - Full-Size! Retail Value $11.15 (£8.95)

This lip crayon is handmade in the UK and is both vegan and cruelty-free. Somehow in the trek from creation to my hands, my lip pencil lost its lid. Should this happen to you, reach out to Kinder customer service and they will be happy to replace it. This lip crayon was super creamy and pigmented, but the shade peach was just a touch too orange for my skin tone.

Clove + Hallow Hydratint Blush Serum in Georgia, 15 ml - Full-Size! Retail Value $19

I have seen Clove + Hallow on Instagram, and I have been drawn to their packaging aesthetic. This is a hydrating liquid blush made with meadowfoam seed oil and hyaluronic acid, and while there were three potential shade options, I am happy with how Georgia, a rosy nude, gives me a natural flush.

Kinder Summer LE brush 1

MOTD Cosmetics Get Cheeky With It Blush Brush - Retail Value $16

The more makeup brushes I get in subscription boxes, the longer I can go before I have to wash my brushes (I said what I said). This brush is vegan and cruelty-free, but it is still soft and blends really well. I used this with the blush from this box, and I was happy that it didn't feel scratchy or leave any streaks.

Kinder Summer LE scrub 2 Kinder Summer LE scrub 2

Bombee Vanilla Bean Sugar Scrub, 2 oz - Estimated Value $8.33 (Buy the 6 oz version for $24.99)

This sugar scrub has the perfect consistency of exfoliating without being too rough, and I really liked the vanilla sugar scent. I tossed this in my gym bag and it made for a very refreshing scrub after a sweaty HIIT class.

Verdict: I thought this was a good curation of products for a limited edition summer box. None of the makeup products felt heavy (which is the last thing I want in this heat!), and the value of the vitamin C serum is almost double the cost of the entire box. I calculated a total value of $142.47 for everything, and if ethical beauty is important to you, this is a box worth checking out.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this is still available!

Value Breakdown: At $38.00 for this box with a total value of $142.47, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Vitamin C Facial Serum from Flower Mill: $20
  • The GLOV On-the-Go Makeup Remover: $3.46
  • Organic Lip Crayon from PHB Ethical Beauty: $2.97
  • Hydratint Blush Serum from Clove + Hallow: $5.07
  • MOTD Cosmetics Get Cheeky With It Blush Brush:  $4.27
