Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Each month you get full-size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.
This is one of Liz’s top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box – the value and sample sizes are amazing. (Check out our list of the best beauty boxes for 2019 and our reviews of Cheap Subscription Boxes for more recommendations!)
(FYI – Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month – so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!)
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

My Ipsy Glam Bag July 2019 Review
My bag this month features skincare, makeup, and haircare. Now, let’s see what I got!
A card with information about the month's theme, your included items, and other Ipsy info is included.
Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month's bag is perfect for summer with graphic leaves and pops of neon coral!
12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment, 1.5oz - Estimated Value $5.62 (Buy a 6oz full size for $22.49)
This multi-purpose product claims to do a lot of good for hair including protecting it from heat styling and sun, smoothing frizz, repairing damage, and more. Initially, I like how it feels in my damp hair but I can't help but notice that after drying, I get soooo many knots and my hair feels a bit like straw.
GLAMGLOW Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow, 7ml - Estimated Value $5.49 (Buy a 50ml full size for $49.00)
As you can see on the swatch above, this moisturizer gives a subtle glow to skin while hydrating and smoothing. It works well layered under makeup or on its own for a slight blurring effect. The vanilla scent is light and lovely. I like this product but I probably won't buy a full size since it doesn't wow me enough to replace my regular moisturizers.
Billion Dollar Brows Eyebrow Brush - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $16.00
I have so many of this type of dual-ended brow brush, several of which I have received from Ipsy. Aside from not needing another, this one from BDB is good. The spoolie is soft and the angled brush is small and narrow enough to create fine strokes. It's also good for applying gel liner.
Ciaté London Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer, 10ml - Estimated Value $6.30 (Buy a 40ml full size for $28.00)
This little tube is so pretty! The pink jelly primer is water-based, packed with hydrating ingredients, and has little beads of watermelon extract for further hydration. In the full-size tube, the beads burst when going through the pump, but in this non-pump sample, they make it out of the tube! Not to worry, they dissolve completely. This primer doesn't leave the velvety texture that silicone-based primers do but instead makes my face feel super juicy. It works well for me to add some hydration back mid-day when dry AC air has dried me out.
Pacifica Bronzer Blush Duo, Ipsy Exclusive - Estimated Value $11.99 (Based on other duos available)
Pacifica, which makes vegan and cruelty-free products, created this duo just for Ipsy. I'm a fan of the slim compact and built-in, generously-sized mirror. I'm also a fan of the shades! The bronzer is on the lighter side, easily buildable, and matte and the blush is a beautiful nude-rose with shimmer. You can see how these shades look on my light-medium skin tone below.
The summer dewy look is on. After applying a layer of the GLAMGLOW Illuminated Moisturizer and Ciaté Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer, I used the Pacific Bronzer and Blush Duo to bronze my face and give my upper cheeks a bit of flush. I also used the duo on my eyelids to contour my crease and brighten my inner corners for a simple, subtle look.
Verdict: This Ipsy Glam Bag is all about that juicy glow. I'm loving the bronzer/blush duo and the watermelon burst primer as a mid-day hydration gel. I'm disappointed to see a repeat brush style and that the hair treatment didn't work well with my hair. The total value of the products in this month's (super tropical) Glam Bag is $43. I think it's great to be able to try all of these products for just $10 a month and I almost always find something I love.
