June 2019 BuddhiBox Yoga Box Review

front of info card with inspiring quote back of info card with all products and additional info

BuddhiBox always includes a card with a mantra or saying on it. On the reverse is this month's item list. Most of the products they include are cruelty-free, organic, vegan, or more than one!

Also included this month is a yoga pose card.

Moon Floral Solid Perfume by Gypsy Soul Organics, 0.5 oz – Retail Value $30.00

I love the idea of this travel-friendly solid perfume, but there actually isn't a ton of scent happening here. A mix of flowers, herbs, and citrus in a beeswax and almond oil base, there probably isn't any reason you couldn't also use this on your lips or dry elbows. I will freely admit that I like strong perfumes, but I feel like this is just lacking in sillage, even for someone who prefers a more demure scent strength.

BuddhiBox Dyed Jade Lower Chakras Radiance Bracelet - Listed Value $25.00

This bracelet is really pretty and features an ombre yellow-to red-range of dyed jade beads. It also has a pair of charms in the middle in goldtone metal. One is a branded BuddhiBox charm that also says "Radiance" on the reverse with a tiny rhinestone. The other is a golden round flower. It has a sliding, adjustable closure, though it fits on the smallest adjustment on my 6.25 -inch wrist, so if yours are tiny, this might feel more like a bangle.

Here are a few shots of the bracelet on.

BuddhiBox "Fire Opal" Sun Necklace - Listed Value $35.00

I had to add quotation marks around the "fire opal" part of this item's title, because the opal is actually a resin made to mimic a fire opal. I am totally fine with that, but I wish the name had a wee bit more transparency, especially since I am a mineral nerd. The necklace itself is made of shiny goldtone metal and is pretty cute on. It also has a BuddhiBox branded tag near the closure.

The necklace is adjustable, and I am wearing it on the longest setting here.

Himalaya Pink Popcorn - Listed Value $3.50 (Buy 18 bags for $17.99)

This item's listed value is just... off. And overinflated. But I digress!

I love this popcorn because you can totally taste the coconut oil. It is one of only THREE ingredients, the others being salt and, well, corn.

sun salutation card

BuddhiBox Sun Salutation Reference Card - Listed Value $5.00

This is essentially an oversized postcard. I would have actually never included it as an actual item in this box, except it had a listed value on the product card. There is nothing on the back and the front features an illustration of the different poses that together make up a sun salutation. I personally feel like this should have just been a nice freebie in the box, as I don't think it at all qualifies as an actual item worth of a $5.00 listed value.

Sunshine in a Bottle Essential Oil Blend - Listed Value $20.00

I had some major leak issues with the item, though this does just sometimes happen with oils in packages. A blend of orange, lemon, and grapefruit, it certainly does smell like sunshine. It also has calendula petals, citrine, and quartz inside the bottle.

Vahdam Tea Sampler - Listed Value $10.00 (buy a sampler with 15 bags for $9.99)

Again, we have listed value issues. I don't want this to detract from this wonderful tea though. I have had teas from this brand before and they are really lovely. This set contains a turmeric spice blend, chamomile mint citrus green tea, a chai, a pure green, and a Darjeeling black. It is a well-rounded introduction to this tea brand.

Movements, 3 packs of 3 mints - Listed Value $10.00 (buy a bag of 20 for $4.99)

Oh dear. There is no way that these mints are worth over $1 per piece. It is really frustrating that these (obvious) sample packs have been given such a value.

The mints themselves are sugar-free, and actually built for clear aligners, which I do not wear. They work the same as any other sugar-free mint and have a nice minty taste.

The Verdict: BuddhiBox Yoga Box gave me super mixed feelings this month. Value inflation can really put a damper on how much I enjoy a box. I also thought this month's box was a bunch of random things with very little curation. The solid perfume didn't have a ton of scent, but I can appreciate the quality ingredients. The jewelry was also fine. The designs were very creative and the colors were pretty, especially for summer. I also thought the oil blend was nicely done, even with the leaking issue. After these items, the box starts to feel like a random sample pack of popcorn, mints, and teas. This sub has really stellar months and also ones that make me scratch my head wondering what is going on. This month happens to be a head-scratcher.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the July box. Order by the 8th of the month to receive that month's box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $34.95 + $5 shipping, which means that each of the 7 items (minus the sun salutation card, which I don't think should qualify as an item or the drawstring pouch) in the box has an average cost of $5.71.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Megan, I’d just like to say that again, I really appreciate your honest, detailed, and thorough reviews. You give genuine praise when it’s due and don’t mince words when the opposite is more appropriate. It’s very refreshing and much appreciated. I understand that some people are just “overly” (such a subjective word) positive by nature and naturally bend over backwards to make excuses and find something…anything nice to say no matter how illogical it may seem. I just make sure to take these sugarcoated assessments with a few grains of salt and tolerance. I’m just glad when I get to read one of your unbiased and uncensored reviews. Keep up the good work!

Hey Dani! I try to call it like I see it. I know it is super important to give you my honest opinion, and I would expect the same if I was reading a review. I would consider myself overly positive in general, so I try to be extra clear when something hasn’t met my expectations. You all deserve that! <3 I am glad you enjoyed the review.

The RV inflation was pretty bad on this box. I really did like the jewelry included, as well as the essential sunshine oil, but I’m always suspicious of RV of a product if it is made exclusively for the box (aka the jewelry).

I agree. Private label is either really great or not so much.
