Also included was a promo card for a $10 facial at Ulta.

Now, on to the items!

Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask, 75 ml - Retail Value $35.00

(All subscribers will receive this item.)

This mask has a lot of goodness on its ingredient list. Aloe, avocado oil, chia oil, prebiotics... you get the idea! It is also Kaolin clay-based, so I was immediately hesitant to use it on my dry skin. I was hoping those more nourishing ingredients might win out over dryness, and for the most part, this was true. I decided to leave it on for only 6 minutes (the recommendation is 10) and found that my skin wasn't too dry when I used a damp cloth to rub it off. It contains fruit acids which help with exfoliation, so my skin was also softer all over. I am still a little confused about the removal process though. The back of the tube says to wipe it off with a damp cloth, which felt fine, but I still decided to fully rinse it off completely before moisturizing.

butter LONDON Natural Goddess Eyeshadow Palette, 7.5 g - Retail Value $32.00

(All subscribers will receive this item.)

This palette of 6 shades has 4 shimmers and two matte shadows. The vibe is very earthy, yet glam, and the colors are very pretty for summer. The shimmers had much better pigmentation and smoothness, but the two mattes were still very nice even if you had to work a little harder to build them up. This palette has a little something for everyone, as the majority are very neutral, but the green and (unexpected) teal bring a little drama.

Luxie 'Gaea' Brush Trio - Listed Value $30.00

(All subscribers will receive this item.)

These brushes are very pretty. The wooden handles have a sort of sheer peachy/pink stain over them that makes the grain stand out and feel very earthy. It is a nice compliment to the coppery metal and ivory bristles. My favorite would be the flat foundation brush, but the included large eye blending brush would be a close second. The smallest brush is for precision crease work, but I always find I need fluffier brushes to really blend crease colors naturally (and I need all the help I can get with this!) so it will likely be used more for the inside of my eyes or putting color on my lower lash line.

Alamar Cosmetics Des-Nude-As Lip Gloss in 'Coqueta', 2.9 ml - Listed Value 15.00

(This is a variant item.)

I love glosses and I have been leaning towards more brownish shades this summer, though they can be very easy to get wrong with my skin tone. This color works well, and looks very natural aside from the super glossy finish. It is a heavier gloss and does feel a little sticky, and I don't think I noticed much of a scent. Overall, the color is great, and I personally like the formula and texture, so this was a win for me. It is also gluten-free, talc-free, vegan, and cruelty-free!

It has just a subtle hint of pink that makes it really complementary to my skin.

APPEAL Cosmetics Gel Liner in 'Forest Green', 1.4 g -  Retail Value $21.00

(This is a variant item.)

Finally, our last item is an eyeliner that I am really happy is not black. It is a gel formula, so not the starkest level of pigmentation, in my opinion. It does glide on effortlessly, and the green color is really pretty with my light brown eyes. I don't use eyeliner very often anymore (though it used to be a daily thing for me) but the softness of this shade might be worth experimenting with, especially when combined with the dreamy green shadow from the also included palette.

It could be more pigmented for sure.

Verdict: BoxyCharm was super earthy this month. This actually felt like one of the most "themed" boxes I have gotten from them. The makeup items are all in shades that would work really beautifully for lush summery inspired looks, especially that nude lippy and teal shadow! The palette was full of really wearable shades that can be used for my more natural looks, but if you like something a little brighter, it had shades for you too! The mask was much more gentle than I expected, and I think I could see myself using it once a week for a little extra glow. Did I need more brushes? Not really, but I always enjoy having new ones close by, especially since I have a rather small (but ever-growing) collection. The overall value of this box is around $133.00, which is a great value for a $21 box. I always feel like I get so much value from BoxyCharm. Even if every item isn't a home-run, there are always enough items I love that more than justify the subscription price and I usually have a little gift or two for a friend.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! These boxes do sell out though, so if you love it, hurry.

Value Breakdown: At $21.00 for this box, here is approximately what you are paying per product:

  • Elemis Mask $5.53
  • Butter London Eyeshadow Palette $5.05
  • Luxie Brush Set $4.74
  • Alamar Cosmetics Lip Gloss $2.37
  • APPEAL Gel Liner $3.31

Alternatively, the average cost of each of the 5 items is $4.20.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I’m confused on the eyeliner, is it sample only? Is it able to be sharpened for more liner? Hard to believe that just the tip of what I see is worth $21.

I have had boxycharm/luxe subs for a long time now and it has been SEVERAL months since I have really enjoyed any of my Boxycharm boxes. That said, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this month’s box. Maybe it’s because I have been so disappointed for so long, I am ECSTATIC to actually like all five items. Lol. In any case, kudos Boxycharm!

Love this box! My mom has been searching for the perfect green eye shadow and green liner, and now her search is over. I also gave her the brushes because I bought an awesome Luxie set as a FFF add-on a few months ago. She also loved the lip gloss. The only thing I kept for myself was the Elemis mask, which I liked, but didn’t love.

I am thinking of starting another account so I can get the eyeshadow and hopefully the green liner again. Either way, I’m always happy to make my mama happy, and these products were made for her!

Good job, as per usual, Boxy!

Everyone is hating on those wipes, but I have received them before in another box and they are amazing! They are super thick, so much so, it’s almost like having a pack of thin cloth towels.

I don’t see any spoilers on here for the August Boxycharm. When will we be able to see August?

Reply ButtonReply

Kaitlyn

I got the Adesse liquid lipstick in Haute Cocoa, which looks and smells amazing, but it’s not my thing. I also got the Koh Gen Do cleansing wipes which I’m not going to use most likely either, so I would love to trade either of these products for one of the Alamar lipglosses. Contact me on Instagram @ katiekatstyle if you’d be interested in swapping.

Can someone sell me their ” Alamar nude lip gloss in Coqueta ” on ebay, please?

my email is olga@khot(dot)us

If all else fails you can buy it on alamar website for 15.00

Yflmartin justposted a quick shot of Natasha Denona on his IG. Maybe, just maybe we will get something from her line in a future box!! 😮🤞

I really wish i would have signed up for that eyeshadow..the colors are gorgeous. It would have been the only thing I used though. I really dislike Elemis, I think it’s one of the most greenwashed brands around. They like to give the illusion of green and clean ingredients, until you actually read the ingredients lol. I’ve never found a product of theirs I will actually use. That eyeshadow though…

I am not impressed with Elemis either. I expected it to be such a great line for the price that’s asked. Nope. Cheaper products are usually better in my opinion. The hype is ridiculous.

Instead of eyeliner, I got wipes…which I was happy about…and I got a tarte lip gloss. I haven’t seen anyone else mention getting a tarte gloss. I was happy with my box.

Reply ButtonReply

Dot

I got the tarte lip gloss in gold I already have it and I don’t care for it :/ I feel like the tarte was whatever garbage they had over to fill peoples boxes would have rather had another choice – sighs my luck 🙄

Reply ButtonReply

Dot

I’m getting tarte in gold I already have this and don’t even use this as a sheen over my lipgloss what a waste and ugly color :/

Anyone else getting tarte in their box ?

I got a review of my box.. I’m getting the elemis mask, the butter London palette, brushes which is a favorite and ofra like product. I’m so excited because it’s in my favorite color and I have never tried a lip product from their company just highlighters in which I love also. I hope I get the real or forest green eyeliner because it’s a different color and not the wipes… but if I do they will be used. I love the earth tone colors… this months box maked.me feel like an wilderness Goddess. I can’t wait to wear this palette.

Love their lippies 💜

Nina

Ofra liquid lips are great! If you like the bright color you’ll probably love the liquid lipstick.. I really like their formula!

Tanya M.

Thanks for the review, Megan. I wonder if it is too late for me to resub to Boxy? Hmmm.. that palette is intriguing.

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

You are welcome Tanya! I think this one should still be up, but sometimes they send the New Subscriber box out. I would reach out to make absolutely sure. If you end up snagging it, I hope you love it!

I’m getting two Alamer glosses in my boxes- Shade is Dulce. I expect it’s going to look like caramel. Yuck!

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

I would love to try one of the Alamar glosses, but I’ll be getting Ofra in Santorini (a bright magenta). Would you like to trade?

Reply ButtonReply

Melisha Brown

I received that color and was scared at first but I LOVE it!! I’m blonde haired, hazel eyes and light complexion.

Tracy

I was excited to get to try an Alamar lippy but my spoiler email says Im getting an Ofra liquid lip in the shade Santorini. I love Ofra but I have a few of them and really wanted to try Alamar. Also the shade Im getting doesnt look like one tha t will work for me. I really hope that with me getting the Ofra, that doesnt mean Im also getting thr wipes too, they listed the price as $17 for a travel size of wipes which I feel is rediculous! Oh well, I still feel its a great value over all.

Reply ButtonReply

Suzy

Those wipes are actually amazing! They are very thick and cloth-like. I received them in some other sub and was sad to see them go.

Reply ButtonReply

Reyna Alcala

Thanks for your review 👍 I thought we were all getting a Alamar lip product. But that’s not the case, I received an email saying that I will be receiving a Luna by Luna lip gloss in the shade Mars, looks really pretty and it’s RVP is $18. I was looking forward to Gaby’s product. 😥. And hopefully I don’t receive those face wipes, I really don’t want to receive face wipes in a beauty subscription box.

Megan K.

Thanks for the heads up! I edited that part of the review. Often, the spoilers are confusing, even for me! <3

I got the face wipes ☹ and an Ofra lippie in Santorini, a VERY bright berry pink, very pretty, but not something I can pull off.

Am I crazy or was this posted the other day?

Reply ButtonReply

LunaLee

I thought the same thing, lol!

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

This review reminded me a tad of the Slay Glam Box review that was posted yesterday. They both had an eyeshadow palette, brushes, lip gloss, and colored eyeliner.

Reply ButtonReply

V

Lol, I felt the same way as I read the review especially the Elemis one. I still looked at the whole review and enjoyed it but it felt really familiar 🤔.

Reply ButtonReply

Carlak

I thought so too!!

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

How did you calculate the break down of the costs per item?

Reply ButtonReply

Paige

The breakdown is calculated by dividing an individual item’s value by the total box value, which gives the percent of value that item contributes. You then multiply that percentage by the box cost. That gives you an idea of about how much you paid for each item at the box price versus the retail price. For example the elemis mask is $35 retail, divided by the box value of $133 means it’s about 26.3% of the box value. $21 cost x 26.3% means you paid around $5.53 for that item based on your cost for the box.

Megan K.

Nailed it! Thanks for this Paige.

Erin

Thank you for this Paige!

Nina

Well I love Elemis so it’s an automatic win for just that. I reach for my Luxie Eye brushes all the time so I hope these ones are good too. I’m hoping those Butter London shadows are better than the duo I got a couple months back in a box. The colors took for-EVER to build up.

Reply ButtonReply

tammy g

is everyone getting the same thing this month?

Reply ButtonReply

Nina

I think so Tammy, so far it seems everyone got the same products with the only variation being the color/brand of the lip product and eye pencil.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa Lussier

My box is definitely a little different. While I did get the Elemis mask, brushes and the eyeshadow palette I ended up getting an Ofra liquid lip which honestly applies more like a gloss and a travel size Koh Gen Do cleansing spa water wipes. So while I still like the box, just seemed odd I didn’t just get variants of the things you guys posted about.

JessiMC88

I was waiting for a review of this box because I was really interested in that butter palette, but it’s only good for 6 months after opening. Most others don’t expire for at least 12 months. I don’t wear eyeshadow often enough to really get full use out of it, so this is a pass for me… If they had that teal shadow in a single though, I would buy it. It’s my favorite color and I think it would look good with my gray eyes.

Reply ButtonReply

Jac

Great review, thank you! I’m excited for this box and would be happy with the same variation.

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

Thank you Jac! Glad you enjoyed. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Mel

I hope I get this exact box!!!

Shari

I canceled Boxy for 3 months in favor of Ipsy Plus. It was like the new kid at School that everyone is interested in, yet after you get to know them, they lose their appeal. For 3 months straight there was shipping problems with my Ipsy. Boxy shows up at my door consistently and on time. While I love Ipsy products and most all of them I have never tried, for me, Boxycharm just shines in so many ways.

Sarahsuboxes

Wow! This month is really good. I love that there are so few variations!
