This looks interesting! I might have to give it a try. I have mature skin with fine lines and almost every powder I have used looks cakey on me! A while back when I ran out of powder and was running out the house to run errands my daughter suggested I try corn starch. Just plain regular cheap corn starch. I thought she was crazy, until I tried it and it was like pure magic! I used a damp sponge and dipped it in the cornstarch and then wiped off the excess and applied it to my face and I look 10 years younger! Somehow it did not pile up around my wrinkles, instead it seem to fill them in and made my face look blurred and soft and beautiful! I have never used another powder since then! I think because it is so finely milled!! Either way I have been using this for almost a year now and it has not caused any problems with my face 🙂 it can be a little drying though, so be aware of that! It also makes my make up last a lot longer! It’s crazy I know, but it works so well! And it is so cheap, only $2.50 a box 🙂

Wow thank you for this tip. Now I have to try cornstarch trick out 😉

I was using a sebum control powder from DMK and realized the main ingredient is cornstarch! So, I’ve been doing the same. My skin gets super oily in the summer and this immediately takes the shine away. I even use a little in my hair when I’m out of dry shampoo! So far no negative effects here lol. I still haven’t mastered the loose powder yet though! I always pick up way too much on my brush then get it everywhere when I try and take
Some off. But I’m happy with this spoiler, so I can get more practice😂

Thanks for the tip, I will have to try that!

What if I cancel now and then resub 3 days later? Lol I really want this primer!! I wish current subs would get some sort of incentive

This is Boxycharm. Be very, very careful. While canceling the box today and signing up again next week could be done, they could get you on a technicality. The ad clearly states that “valid only while supplies last”. I just don’t have that kind of trust. I bear scars from being burned by Boxycharm.

I did this and emailed them and it seemed to work!

Bea

Right !!! They don’t appreciate our loyalty lol

What about alittle something extra for those who have been prescribed for awhile and are still subscribed? We should be included also in getting alil extra free as well! Alil 😡

I had cancelled one of my two subscriptions and got the email with the BOXYPRIME code for the Avant Primer ( $120 full size tube).

I resubbed because the Avant AND the Becca powder/ liquid both seem awesome.

One thing that occurs to me, and it’s a good thing- The Becca product almost seems like it could be similar to the K- beauty ” CC Cushion”.

Has anyone who’s used the various beautiful CC Cushion foundation/ powder formulas tried the Becca powder with a sponge?

Also, it’s listed as Sephora as being 50% water/ glycerine, so if it ” dries out” somewhat, couldn’t a person add sterilized water and cosmetic glycerine in 1:1 solution until it reaches the original consistency?

Just questions I have. Thanks in advance for help. 😉

I have played with it a little at Ulta and I got a sample of the Becca product the other day. It is just a setting powder. It is not a CC cream. It feels a little bit cold when you touch it and it almost feels wet.

Very long time ago, Bath and Body Works used to carry a bunch of skincare and cosmetic products. The Japanese brand Awake was one of them. I got a setting powder called Aqua Trans Powder that was very similar to this Becca product. I thought it was just okay. It feels cool to touch. I think it was a little bit “sticky” and hard to spread. The staying power was not great.

Let see if this Becca one is better. If it is an exact copy of the Awake one that it is just gimmicky.

I have the Becca powder – it is powder – but when applied to the skin it feels cool and almost moist – kind of weird. But also cool (as in good ;-)) – it is hard to explain until you try it. Now, fast forward three months – I don’t notice the cooling effect as much now, maybe because I am used to it or maybe because it has lost the effect… not sure, looking for commentary that shares the same observation…

Lily

I remember when Bath and Body Works had skincare and makeup. It was truly awful, IMO. I tried a few things because they do those BOGO offers and the sales people used to push the products really hard.

Haven’t been in one of their stores in years since my skin has gotten drier and needs more TLC with age. 😉

I’m really happy to see this is in the August box. I’m excited to try it out! I was hoping for something like this.

Michelle

I already have this and it dries your skin out like what.

Alicia H

I have incredibly oily skin – especially in this summer heat – so I’m actually hoping it is a bit drying. I look like I put highlighter ALL OVER MY FACE today. Ugh.

YVONNE

I am going to resub next because this is a brand I have been waiting to get again.

How do i know what shade(I’m light complications) i get since they’re only 2 variations??

Reply ButtonReply

wjg

I have this powder and it goes on translucent

Reply ButtonReply

Lauren

Boxy is notoriously bad at shade matching so you basically just hope for the best.

Reply ButtonReply

Melanie Braswell

Literally .. Boxycharm has NEVER got my shade wrong. When I hear people say that, I am like mind blown. Are you sure your shade is correct on your beauty quiz? I’ve never had this problem and they always send me the correct shades 😎❤️

Joe

Not time time, I promise, we got better.

Angelina Liboy

OOHH this is an awesome spoiler!

I have wanted to try this for a long time ever since I saw Tati Westbrook review it on her YouTube channel. She said it felt almost like water on the skin and it had a cooling effect. However, I’m on a tight budget with makeup so I rarely purchase new items until I completely run out of what I use on a regular basis. That’s why I subbed to get full size items at deep discounts. Ones that I haven’t liked I have gifted to a friend or traded on Facebook. It’s great for me to get great products at great prices.

Reply ButtonReply

Kenley

Is this a variant or will everyone get this?

Reply ButtonReply

Lucy

That’s the 1 million dollar question, isn’t it? I think it’s a variant. Liz didn’t write ” every charmer will get…”

Reply ButtonReply

Lauren

I canceled this morning, and when I did it said basically, don’t go, August’s box has this product in two variations, so thinking everyone will get it but shades will vary.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

This is a nice powder when it’s fresh, however, it dries out really fast, loses all the “hydra-mist” effect, and for me personally, once that happened I had to stop using it because it made my skin look Terrible!! Use it up quick!

Reply ButtonReply

TheOtherJulia

I used mine once and I did like the cooling effects. The second time I went to use it the cooling was gone. I was really disappointed. It’s not like I left it open either. I closed the lid tightly and kept it in a very small drawer.

For anyone curious about the dispenser it has a mesh screen over the powder. It’s an interesting powder, but I prefer the soft light blurring powder in pink haze. That blurs pores, lines everything. I don’t know what kind of magic they use in it, but I love it. I don’t use much because my skin is more on the normal/dry side so I don’t like to use a lot of powder.

Reply ButtonReply

laci

have You tried the blurring powder in the golden color?? i wanted to try it based on your recommendation but i think i would prefer the yellow over the pink if they both work equally well. but if there’s just something extra great about the pink one then i would buy that one…

pinkhoo

That’s good to know. I’ll hold off opening it until Autumn. The heat wave we’re having in the Midwest means I’m wearing mascara and sunscreen and have given up on most other makeup for now. It’s all just sliding off.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Ugh same, it’s been wicked hot!🥵 I’ve been bare-faced for like 2 weeks straight lol

Julia

No visible holes in the dispenser, apart from one in the center.

Reply ButtonReply

V

Julia when I clicked on the link it showed a mesh top once you lift up the plastic part.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

Oh man that’s a good spoiler! Been wanting to try that; too bad I canceled my boxycharm years ago.

Teresa

I love BOXYCHARM and BOXYLUXE.. not every product is going to satisfy every Charmer.. BUT.. yes there’s a BUT .. now they’re integrating personal beauty profiles. So far so good. And some months Charmers have been able to choose between 2 products. AND . They now how Boxy pop up.. When you get a huge discount on name brand products !! They’re new things going on with BOXYCHARM… Now’s a perfect time to jump back in !! ❤️💜💋💅🐞🖌️🛍️💄📬

Same for me, Sara!

Hesitant to try this or just trade. Every setting powder tends to show any fine lines or make my skin dry. Hoping or some other great spoilers, mainly staying for Boxyluxe!

Sarah

If I subscribe today what box will be my first? Not a fan of the July box.

Reply ButtonReply

Ras

The July box will be your box, If you don’t want the july box wait till the 1st of the month.

Awesome, thank you!

Okay I’m super excited! I know it has had mixed reviews but I’ve been wanting to try this forever and somehow I always miss when there’s a gwp promo for it
