Bomibag June 2019 Review

There was no information card included in the package. You used to be able to find them on the BomiBox site but this month’s bag was not listed.

Bomibag June 2019 - Bag

The bunny bag was a respectable size this month and I managed to not cut its ears off while opening the package (which is something I have done in the past).

Bomibag June 2019 - Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder

innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder (0.17 oz) – Retail Value $12.90 (found here for $5.16)

This is a product I’ve actually tried before and finished off at least a couple in full size. I have kind of oily skin and I’m not into the dewy look – I prefer a matte finish. And this, applied over foundation, can help with that, even after a whole day at work. One thing I don’t know is how this works on darker skin tones as I am pretty pale and it isn’t noticeable on me.

Bomibag June 2019 - Duft and Doft Stockholm Rose Hand Cream

Duft & Doft Stockholm Rose Hand Cream (0.3 fl oz) – Estimated Value $1.17 (Buy 1.8 oz for $6.99)

This is a new brand for me but it looks like it is available at CVS (at least the website) if you are interested in trying it out without paying shipping. It is a lighter weight hand cream and so it really isn’t for intensive moisturizing, but it’s a nice scent and consistency for summer and I will use it up. (I think we got a hand cream last month, too, but I just finished that up so I don’t mind receiving another.)

Bomibag June 2019 - Elensilia CPP French Propolis 82% Resistem Ampoule

Elensilia CPP French Propolis 82% Resistem Ampoule (15 mL) – Retail Value $12.50

This is an unusual product. It is super, super thick, and it has little bits of gold foil floating in it. I’m not sure the point of the gold because it doesn’t absorb into the skin. Anyway, once you actually manage to get some of this up into the dropper dispenser, you really only need one or two drops to cover your whole face. It goes on kind of goopy but actually dries nicely. I put makeup on over it and didn’t have any problems. This has propolis, which contains some minerals and anti-inflammatory ingredients (not vegan, though, it is produced by bees) as well as niacinamide (for brightening and/or reducing redness) and some antioxidants that may also help fight free radical damage. This is a good product for irritated skin, I think, especially when paired with the next item.

Bomibag June 2019 - Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel

Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel (30 mL) – Estimated Value $8.97 (Buy 100 mL for $29.90, found here for $11.96)

Here is another product with propolis, which we’ve already discussed, and aloe which is soothing and moisturizing. I don’t know that this has the right consistency to layer with the ampoule product, but if you used that one in the morning, especially on hot, summer days, this one might be good to use at the end of the day. If you have tried other products with a high percentage of aloe, you will be familiar with the texture.

VerdictI calculated a total value of $35.54 for the June Bomibag. That’s one of the best values I’ve seen for this subscription – so good, in fact, that I can almost overlook the fact that this arrived nearly three weeks into the next month (and without a proper address label). It includes an old favorite (the powder) and something that is likely to become a new favorite (the ampoule) and actually I am pretty sure I will use up every item this month.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you subscribe today? No, your first shipment will be the August bag. Sign up before the 15th to receive the same month's bag.

Value Breakdown: At $19.99 for this subscription, you’re paying about the following per item:

  • innisfree powder $7.26
  • Hand cream $0.66
  • Ampoule $7.03
  • Soothing gel $5.05

Just an FYI, the info about the June products is available on their website. It looks like you’re missing one of the items, too.

I thought the bag seemed a little light this month, and I was even thinking that they always seem to include at least one sheet mask too.

There have been other months without a sheet mask, but they do usually include one.

I don’t get their emails because of the way my account is set up, so thanks for the information. It used to be, you could just go to the site for the previous month’s products and change the date information in the URL, but that stopped working for me a long time ago, and I don’t know where to look for the product information any longer.

This month was kind of weird anyway in that they seem not to have put an actual address label on my package, only a barcode (that the USPS, to their credit, interpreted correctly). Either that or the package was damaged and taped back together, which may account for the missing item.
