So has anybody else noticed a sudden giant increase in taxes on Birchbox subscription?? I just ended my annual sub and changed to a monthly bc I’m still not sure about this raise in cost, but then realized that instead of the $13 cost of the box, I was being charged $17.81, which would make taxes about 40%??? Just wondering if I’m overreacting over here as my finger hovers over the cancel button… I really enjoyed my birchboxes, but that’s crazy…

That is weird. Even if you were paying the full $15/box cost, the $2.81 in tax would still be approaching an 18.75% tax rate! I got an annual right before the switch so I didn’t notice any weird increase in taxes, but out of curiosity, I did test it out on a 3-month gift subscription, and they charged regular tax (and a $2.95 “service fee” for gift subscriptions… now that’s new to me!).

Hmm, yeah that’s what I’m concerned about, if maybe they are sneaking in even MORE costs and calling it taxes. I’m trying to come up with a joke about the shade they’re throwing and not needing sunscreen, but I digress. 🙂

I love it and I’m super tempted but I’m overloaded with product. Last week I used a tube of pore perfecting exfoliator on my entire body. Then I used an entire face mask over my whole body as well. Just so I could get rid of the product.

I know…I’ve been using super pricey facial serums, oils, exfoliators on my whole body for months and still have way too many products. I can’t seem to resist buying more. What do you do to get rid of hair products quicker? Can’t wash, mask, style every day.

Stephanie

Oh I use hair masks every 3 days and I put hair oil in my hair every night.

Samantha

very cute and I’m going to steal this idea and pull together my own travel kit since I have most of the items already.

Nice box! Sadly, I have product overload.

It looks like a great box. With the discount code and some points, i paid $35, plus ordered the mystery gift. Be sure to get the mystery gift since it puts you over the $50 limit needed for free shipping, even though it is deducted immediately. The free mystery gift counts as $10 toward free shipping.

BB limited edition hits it out of the ballpark again. Yes, I am getting this box

I got a 20% off of Limited Edition Boxes code in my July box, but it doesn’t look like we’re allowed to use it for these. Which sucks. I’ll keep trying, because at 20% off this is a steal.

I’m so bummed about that! I contacted customer service and they were just like “yeah, sorry no.”

That’s exactly what I was thinking!

SO practical! I love it!! I have been getting points instead of boxes and I think I just might cash them in on this one.. Only wish is that the sunscreen was 50+ instead, ginger in Arizona right here LOL
