Aquage Finishing Spray, 2 oz — Travel Size! Retail Value $9.00
I liked this spray! It is a finishing type of deal, so the hold isn't strong, but it does a good job of adding some shine and minimizing flyaways. It has a clean scent that was subtle after drying, and gave my second-day hair a much-needed refresh.
Biolage ColorLast Shampoo, 1.7 fl oz - Estimated Value $2.67 (Buy a full-size 13.5 oz for $17.99)
I found this shampoo to be super gentle, and had a clean, floral scent. It is extra gentle on colored hair, and is free of parabens. I like a little deeper cleaning action from a shampoo, but if you like a gentle clean, this is a great shampoo to try!
Biolage ColorLast Conditioner, 1.7 fl oz - Estimated Value $2.61 (Buy a full-size 13.5 oz for $18.99)
This conditioner had the same delightful scent as its shampoo counterpart and is also paraben free. I only condition the ends of my hair and I like that this formula deep conditioned without adding weight to my strands.
Chi Tea Tree Oil Serum, 0.5 fl oz - Estimated Value $5.00 (Buy a full-size 2 oz for $19.99)
I have always liked the sharp, medicinal scent of tea tree oil, so this was an automatic win for me. I used this on my dry hair, though it is recommended on damp hair. I just find serums work better for me on my dry strands. Along with that distinct tea tree scent (yum!) it gave my hair a nice glossy finish and defined my waves without weighing them down. I also noticed significantly less frizz, which is impressive in this humidity!
Hempz Exotic Green Tea and Asian Pear Herbal Body Moisturizer, 2.25 fl oz - Travel Size! Retail Value $6.49
I was worried this lotion might have too much of a fruity pear scent, but I love green tea so much I decided to sample it all over my legs. The gamble paid off because the tea notes here outshine the pear! The lotion was quick absorbing and lightweight, though my legs certainly felt hydrated and very smooth. This is a great summer lotion because the hemp seed oil is super nourishing without being sticky, which is especially important when your legs meet the hot leather seats of your car.
Kenra Dry Oil Control #14 Spray, 1.2 oz -Travel Size! Retail Value $6.99
I don't think this product was my favorite. The scent was off for me and way too strong (it just smelled like a generic hair salon to my nose) and the finish in my hair felt really, really dry. I didn't personally notice any added shine either.
Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Face Mask, 0.47 fl oz - Estimated Value $4.89 (Buy a full-size 5 oz for $52.00)
Summer, summertime! This cucumber mask is perfect for relaxing after a day full of sun. It was so cooling, especially since I stashed it in the fridge for about an hour before I applied it. It is filled with cucumber and aloe, and I didn't notice any alcohol in the ingredient list when I scanned it, making this perfect for skin that has seen maybe a little too much sun! If you really like this mask, you can also use it as a sleep mask and leave it on throughout the night instead of washing away.
Rusk Restart04 Dry Shampoo, 1.5 oz - Estimated Value $5.28 (Buy a full-size 5.4 oz for $19.00)
This dry shampoo worked just fine, but something in the scent was just... off for me. It didn't last long though, so that is a forgivable offense. I didn't notice any white residue when I used a ton of it at once, though I do have light hair. This is a nice solid dry shampoo and I use loads of them, so I plan on stashing this in my purse.
Assorted OPI Pro Spa Samples in foils
Also included were 4 different OPI samples from their Spa line. I don't usually include foils as samples in my value calculation, but I did enjoy trying these out and loved their natural scents!
Verdict: This box has an overall estimated value of $42.71. Granted, I do not usually calculate foil samples into the total value. While this is quite a bit short of the $70 value on the front of the box, it is still a great value for a $15 box. I almost wish they hadn't included a value total on the front, because this box is good enough without it, especially if you have any trips coming up and need travel-size items!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box today? Yep! It is still in stock!
Value Breakdown: This box cost $15.00 and I calculated a value of $42.71. That means you are paying approximately the following for each item:
- Aquage Spray $3.16
- Biolage Shampoo $0.94
- Biolage Conditioner $0.84
- Chi Tea Tree Oil $1.76
- Hempz Lotion $2.28
- Kenra Dry Oil Spray $2.45
- Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Mask $1.72
- Rusk Pro Dry Shampoo $1.85
Alternatively, each of the 8 items (minus the OPI samples) has an average cost of $1.88.
