Wizarding World Crate May 2019 Review – Quidditch Through the Ages

J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate May 2019 - All Contents Review

I am so happy to see a box dedicated exclusively to Harry Potter!

Each month arrives with an information card that details the items in your box and its theme.

Now onto this month’s HP picks!

J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate May 2019 - Quidditch Varsity Patch Front J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate May 2019 - Quidditch Varsity Patch Back

Quidditch Varsity Patch

The quality of this patch is great, especially the soft fuzzy texture and bold colors. This 4x4 inch patch is a simple iron-on application and would look great in the middle of the back of a jean jacket, “evoking Muggle letterman’s jackets.”

Quidditch Tshirt, Size Medium

The shirts in this subscription just keep getting better and better! This soft, speckled heather tee is a reminder that Gryffindor reigns supreme! Sporting Harry’s number 7, this shirt also has its fierce lion mascot, ready for game day. This month I ordered a size medium, which is true to size, but each month, the shirt’s materials and fits vary.

Quidditch Pennant Keychain

This month helps celebrate my home team in the best ways! I’ll enjoy showing off my house pride with a simple, yet vibrant banner keychain with brass hardware. A perfect piece of house-specific flair!

J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate May 2019 - Golden Snitch Trinket Box 1 J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate May 2019 - Golden Snitch Trinket Box 2

Golden Snitch Trinket Box

What a cute little box! Quidditch is my kind of sport - no running involved! I love finding unique fan memorabilia like this in these boxes.

The clasp on this box isn’t very secure, so I wouldn’t recommend putting any real treasures in there if it’s going to be tossed around, but this would be fun to display, or it could be an excellent way to present a fan with a small gift.

J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate May 2019 - Quidditch Captain Enamel Pin 1 J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate May 2019 - Quidditch Captain Enamel Pin 2 J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate May 2019 - Quidditch Captain Enamel Pin 3

Quidditch Captain Enamel Pin

Finally, this month’s pin is another ode to Quidditch. This pin is about the size of a quarter, great for wear on a pocket flap or lapel. I don’t know if I am captain material, but that won’t stop me from sporting this bad boy!

Verdict: This month’s J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate was all about Quidditch; go team Gryffindor!! I feel this sub was due for an all Harry theme, and I am happy my wish was granted! This month I received 5 items for $45 ($39.99 plus $5 shipping), which I think is a fair price for licensed, exclusive memorabilia and a unique, comfy t-shirt.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. This was an older theme – the current theme can be found on the landing page!

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Horrible. I put in a change of address in December, they still sent my box to the wrong address!!! Worse, it was a box of crap! NOW, they have sent yet another box to the wrong address!!!! Shipping sucks, as they are WAYYYY behind!!!! I’m canceling!

This box is awful! I ordered the one from next month because of a 50% coupon, and I’m not sure it’s worth it even at half price. I have to agree with the other comments, the golden snitch looks like it came from a Happy Meal and also Geek Gear is way better.

I wish I got this one. I love house specific stuff. Then again I am hufflepuff and most potter items are gryffindor and sytherine

Glad this site is at finally acknowledging Loot Crate’s shipping issues.

I seriously don’t get how they are still in business.

I’m shocked by this review. My sibling and I got this box and both canceled immediately. We LOVE Harry Potter and have been getting this for a while and usually do our best to love it… but it was NOT worth anywhere near $45. The keychain was cool. The patch was cool. Both aren’t really worth that much. The T-shirt “texture” honestly made it look totally covered in lint and the sizes are so inconsistent that they barely ever fit. The snitch was HORRIBLE. It’s extremely cheap plastic and made in China. It looked and felt like something you might get at McDonalds and was extremely disappointing. Honestly in total I wouldn’t have paid even $25 for the box.

I have to agree. I actually didn’t mind the shirt, I found the texture interesting, if only useful for very casual wear (Netflix….). That snitch though is complete garbage. We’re HP superfans at my house and we just can’t find a way to justify buying this box anymore. Geek Gear’s box is infinitely better and more consistent. I actually said to my daughter that I thought we should receive an ‘apology box’ for this version of the loot crate Wizarding World. The patch and keychain don’t add up to make it worth filling out a form for….
