The Supernatural Box Spring 2019 Review
My box came with an insert that showed exactly what was in my box. I took a quick peek then put it aside; I really want to be surprised when I look at everything for the first time!
Etched Glass Artwork with Frame
The first item in my box is the super cool artwork. I get a lot of artwork in subscription boxes and the majority of them are just on a piece of paper, so it was really delightful to get this artwork etched in glass. The glass is reflective and can also serve as a mirror. It features the shadows of Dean, Cass and Baby, Dean’s Impala. It also has the logo: “Saving People, Hunting Things, The Family Business.” This will go great on my desk.
Anti-Possession Book Ends
Not too long ago, I was on the search for the perfect bookends for some of the guideline books I have at work. I was so psyched to see these included in my box this month! They are metal and have the anti-possession symbol that Dean and Sam have tattooed on them which sits on top of Cass’s wings. These are perfect and while they weren’t exactly what I had in mind, they worked just perfectly for what I needed.
Castiel Plush
It is like CultureFly read my last review and curated this just for me! I hoped to receive more Cass items in my next box and dun-dun-dun!! A Cass plush! I prefer this plush to the vinyl figures. Even though the face is not detailed, its pretty cute. He’s got on his tie and his trench coat and, of course, his wings. I adore this little plush and hope to build a collection.
Castiel’s Wings Charm
Another Cass item?! Please and thank you! I enjoy the charms that I receive in my Supernatural subscription. Last quarter it was a piece of pie and this month is it Cass’s wings. They are silver and are pretty detailed for being so small and has a clip to attach to a charm bracelet.
Supernatural Art Work
This is only my second Supernatural Box, but I have learned that artwork is apart of each one and they are welcomed! This one shows the shadows of Cass, Dean and Sam with different symbols. Above Cass is the angel banishing sigil, above Dean is the anti-possession symbol and above Sam is the standard devil's trap. The figures seem to be on some sort of glass mural, like something one would see in a church. I like this artwork it's pretty groovy.
Hey Ass-Butt Notebook
As soon as I saw this I laughed. I remember the first time Cass said this when he threw the molotov cocktail at Michael in Adam’s vessel. Even though the episode is really sad and the beginning of truly horrific things for Sam, Cass brings humor to the episode. This notebook is spot on. It features Cass with his wings out and the angel banishing symbol across his chest. The pages inside are lined and have the angel banishing symbol on each page. The notebook has a red ribbon bookmark and has 77 pages.
Ballpoint Pen with Stylus
I love that CultureFly provided a pen with the notebook. This pen is really cool, with tribal etchings. Here and there, ‘Castiel’ and ‘Supernatural Join the Hunt’ is printed on the silver barrel. This retractable .05mm ball point pen features a blue grip and writes smoothly in blue ink.
Long Sleeved Logo T-Shirt
The final item in this quarter’s Supernatural subscription is this awesome black shirt with red print. It has the same symbols we’ve seen throughout this box: anti-possession symbol, angel banishing symbol and a devils trap symbol. It states “Family Don’t End With Blood” and “Team Free Will.” I love how “Supernatural Join The Hunt” is printed on the sleeve. This shirt came in the size I requested, an XL, but it is truly an extra large and is big on me. I will be using this as a nightshirt while I binge Supernatural reruns on Netflix.
Verdict: I love Supernatural and have finally caught up on all the seasons. Like so many other fans, hearing its final season is coming up is bittersweet. This box really contains some cool, practical stuff from the series that I will 100% use. I am so happy that I received a plush instead of the vinyl figure and loved the shirt, even if it was pretty big on me. I also really loved the notebook; it makes me laugh every time I look at it. I liked this box a lot and am looking forward to future boxes!!
