June 2019 Target Beauty Box Review

Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Info 1

This month’s box is all about those travel-sized go-to's!

Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Info 2

This info card provides a short description of each item sampled and on the flip side a Target coupon good for $3 off a beauty purchase of $15 or more. This month I received a regular barcode coupon to use in-store or online.

Moving on to Target’s on-the-go must-haves!

Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Nails 1 Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Nails 2 Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Nails 3

CND VINYLUX Weekly Polish in Romantique .13fl oz - Estimated Value $2.73 (Buy .5fl oz for $10.50)

CND Weekly Top Coat .13fl oz - Estimated Value $1.90 (Buy .5fl oz for $7.29)

I love little kits like this! These minis are great to test out sets without shelling out the cash for the full-sized products. I’ve never tried CND’s polish products, but a younger me swore by their Solar Oil to strengthen brittle nails and soothe unruly cuticles. This duo promises a week’s wear of chip-resistant polish; my job requires me to work with my hands quite a bit, so this will be the ultimate test!

Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Nails 4

I knew this color wouldn’t personally fit my style, so I decided to test it out on two of my nails, letting the rest of my fingernails to breathe for a few days. The first coat went on in milky, streaky strokes, but it dried very quickly and felt smooth on my nails. After the second coat was applied it looked somewhat better, but I could still see the first coat through it. I was hoping the topcoat would even things out, but I just wasn’t satisfied with the end result, although the shine from the topcoat looked great! I wore this for 3 days, and only now am I noticing any signs of chipping - not too bad for this girl!

Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Dry 1

TRESemmé Between Washes Volumizing Dry Shampoo, 1.15fl oz - Estimated Value $1.60 (Buy 4.3fl oz for $5.99)

In the last few months, Target has been really pushing the dry shampoos, and even though I am swimming in the stuff, I appreciate having a hoard of dry shampoo for every mood and occasion! This formula went on without a chalky residue, and it left my hair smelling so fresh. I have very fine hair, and this formula did not assist with volume; after a few hours wear, I think it actually made my hair feel a little heavier. This is something I may reach for after washing my hair to create a more 2nd-day hair vibe, but I wouldn’t use this to amp up volume or to reduce oil.

Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Dry 2

Herbal Essences Bio Renew Dry Shampoo, 1.7fl oz - Estimated Value $2.43 (Buy 4.9fl oz for $6.99)

Green tea and cucumber scented dry shampoo!? Those are two of my favorite fragrance notes, and the two combined smell terrific! I tried this on third-day hair, which, for me, isn’t a dire situation; I just needed a little oil control and some texture for volume, and this formula wasn’t working any miracles. It didn’t leave any white residue, and the scent lingers for a few hours, which leads me to believe that this is the perfect dry shampoo to reach for when you’re looking for a fresh fragrant boost, but as far as oil-reducing or volumizing goes, I’d look elsewhere.

Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Mask 1 Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Mask 2 Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Mask 3

Pixi T-Zone Peel Off Mask, .5fl oz - Estimated Value $7.24 (Buy 1.52fl oz for $22)

Pixi in a Target Beauty Box makes me so excited!! I see this brand every time I walk into Target, and I am always curious, so I was more than happy to try this mask out. It is a pearly green and promises to detoxify using a unique superfood blend. This mask is meant to use on your t-zone, and after letting it dry for about 15 minutes, I was able to peel it off in just a few satisfying sheets. Like most peel-off masks, my skin felt softer and looked a little brighter, but other than that, I didn’t notice any other purifying effects.

Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Hair 1 Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Hair 2 Target Beauty Box June 2019 – Hair 3

Pantene Pro-V Intense Rescue Shots Ampoules Hair Treatment, .5fl oz - Retail Value $1.99

This is a lovely product! It went above and beyond what a hair mask can usually do for me, and the end result is silky, knot-free strands! This deep treatment targets damaged hair and also helps to repair and prevent split ends. The instructions say to apply after shampooing and conditioning, without mentioning how long to keep it on (so I let it soak in for a minute or so before rinsing it out). A little bit goes a long way with this product, especially since I only applied it from mid-length to my ends, so this tube will last through a few more washes. This is definitely my favorite discovery from this month’s Target Beauty Box!

Verdict: Target’s go-to travel essentials were some interesting picks this month. They’re not what I’d immediately think of when I think of traveling, but I’m sure they will come in handy. The value of this box is $17.89, over double the $7.00 box cost including free shipping. This box is a great way to stock up on travel essentials, and I love seeing the different products Target has to offer. Not everything was a perfect fit for me this month, but I will be using each item in one way or another regardless.

What do you think of the June's Target Beauty Box?

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

I learned a trick regarding dry shampoos from someone else here: use them in your shoes! They are absolutely awesome for deodorizing and clearing up any smells in them.

Also, I just tried this nail polish, and it is absolutely horrid! I will NOT buy this brand ever, especially since they chose that awful color to send out to everyone.

Has Target changed their schedule- are they no longer releasing the monthly box on the first Monday of the month?

I went to my Target recently and they had the rescue shots for sale in the shampoo section. They were selling two kits. It was $1.99 for one Rescue shot and $4.99 for a set of 3.

ATTENTION PET OWNERS: Target sells DOG & CAT subscription boxes!!! I bought 2 dog and 1 cat and they’re AWESOME! They were FULL of great products including Blue Buffalo food. They’re (I think) $7.00. I emailed MSA to let people know but I guess whoever thinks that’s not worth announcing. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi Kelly, I saw that MSA posted about the availability of the May Target Pet boxes in early May, and they also did a review of the cat box earlier this month. Was it in early May when you let them know about them? Maybe they accidentally forgot to give you a shout-out? In my experience, while it’s rare, they have on occasion posted something I alerted them to but I didn’t get a shout-out, so maybe that’s what happened. (also when that happens, besides possibly forgetting, I also think that maybe they were already aware and were working on the post already 🙂 ) Also, there are times when something I alerted MSA to doesn’t get posted, so when that happens, depending on what it is I sometimes do what you do and just post about it myself in the comments of a related (or semi-related) post 🙂

And to chime in, Target has serious competition from Walmart this month. I just got my box today and it is GREAT. It includes a Pantene rescue shot, too.

I was coming to say my walmart box looks similar to this yet has more stuff. I got the rescue shot, the tresemme dry shampoo, and a bunch of other stuff! (Off the topc of my head, a sheet mask, a toothpaste, an eyebrow cream and other stuff I’m forgetting!) And I paid 5 dollars for it…target what’s going on??

I would definitely want it if they had put a better nail polish shade in the box. The milky white-ish is horrible. I love dry shampoo and the other items, but not enough to get the box. Target and Walmart beauty boxes have been disappointing this year. I cancelled my Walmart sub last year. I used to set my alarm to buy a target box, but not anymore since they just aren’t worth it…

I used to hurry and buy these boxes, no more
They are not as good

Perhaps it is just me, but I have become so disappointed in the Target box curation this last year. I mean, just this month alone, they are giving us TWO (2) Dry Shampoos! I used to love waiting for it to drop, but these days the boxes do nothing for me. Chances are I wouldn’t use any of the items save for the PIXI mask and that alone is NOT worth the $7.

I’m sad actually and keep hoping whomever plans these boxes changes the way they pick the items.

I received my box the next day after ordering! That’s a first… I couldn’t help but wonder for a quick sec if it came from my local Target that’s only a 5 minute drive from my house. lol

MissPippa

Me too. I love Pixi and I hope Target is listening

Luna

Me too!!! I’ve actually been using my Target coupons solely on Pixi products this year, but this month I decided to change it up, and move on to trying some Red Earth products (one product at a time each month) instead. I started with their face mist & sheet mask this month (the coupon paid for the sheet mask!). I hope I like them!

Jessi

Two dry shampoos? Come on target…
