Stitch Fix is a monthly clothing and styling subscription service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey about your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences. After choosing when you’d like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks 5 items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)
My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Stitch Fix Plus Size Clothing Box May 2019 Review
This is the invoice that was included. It shows in detail the items selected for me and the brands, sizes, and cost of each piece. The total comes up to $244 after all the discounts if I opt to keep everything—which is a $108 total savings! That is almost like getting the Seven7 Jeans for free!
As always, this handy sheet with a sweet note from my stylist, Katelyn, was included. I loved her personal note! We seem to have quite a bit in common. Including a love of Dolly Parton! She noticed my Dolly Parton board on my Pinterest when she looked at my fashion one! I am so happy for her (and admittedly slightly jealous) that she gets to go to Dollywood! Dollywood is on my bucket list too, so I hope you have the best time, Katelyn! I do appreciate her taking the time to check out my Pinterest and took my feedback to heart.
Also included is this ad from Warp + Weft talking about their devotion to being environmentally conscious in the process of making their jeans. I love that 20% of their new jeans are made from old denim, plastic, and cotton! That is fantastic and makes me love Warp + Weft even more!
Letti Gold Metal Strap Detail Maxi Dress by DM Collection, size 20W—Retail Value $88
Katelyn already knows two things about me: I love mustard yellow and leopard print. She sent me this adorable leopard print maxi dress with a high/low cut that is perfect for summer! The fabric is lightweight with tons of stretch. I also appreciate the gold clasp detail on the straps, it adds a formal touch to an otherwise casual piece. I can imagine wearing this out with my gold glitter jelly sandals and a large brimmed hat on the beach or walking around the outside market in my city on a Saturday afternoon.
Micah Crisscross Back Dress by Gilli, size 2x—Retail Value $58
Katelyn sent me this dark green skater skirt style dress as well. The fabric has loads of stretch and I adore the crisscross back on this piece! The fit and style is fantastic, but I wasn’t sure if the color would work for the season necessarily. As Katelyn mentioned in her note, I was looking into dresses from my subscription boxes I review as options for my cousin’s wedding in Texas. Oddly enough, I did end up wearing a dress by Market and Spruce from a Stitch Fix box I received in July 2018! It fit in more with the “beach” theme my cousin had with its bright floral design. Alas, this Gilli brand dress is super cute, but I think this would be even better suited for fall time! I can see this dress being worn with a white t-shirt underneath and leopard print platforms and tights in cooler weather. What a look!
Emelia Button Down Blouse by Karl Lagerfeld Paris, size 2x—Retail Value $68
Karl Lagerfeld was as infamous for his designs as he was for being tremendously outspoken and opinionated. I am fond of a lot of Karl’s classic styles and designs and can acknowledge his contributions to the fashion world. However, I must admit I am still stunned that he put out a plus size line due to some of the unkind things he has said about curvy women in the past. When I receive subscription boxes, I always try to be objective regardless of the brands. I actually even own a Karl Lagerfeld dress! The Karl Lagerfeld Paris line is rather reminiscent of Chanel pieces. This blouse has wonderful sketches that represent Karl and his love of Paris. The fabric doesn’t have much stretch, but it isn’t necessary due to the on-point cut and style of the blouse. This pairs wonderfully with the jeans my stylist sent me, but would also look great with black dress pants and a blazer or a red pencil skirt and pumps at the office.
Neil Tonal Panel Skinny Jeans by Seven7 Jeans, size 22W—Retail Value $88
These jeans remind me of a pair of shorts I owned in the 90s. They were two-toned and I often styled them with the Kris Kross Taz and Bugs Bunny t-shirts everyone had back then! Certainly, these jeans are reminiscent of that popular two-tone trend of my youth, but with a modern twist due to the skinny leg cut. The fit is great—they have the right amount of stretch and are so comfortable. I styled the jeans with the Karl Lagerfeld Paris top Katelyn sent me along with my vintage blue Candie’s heels to perfectly tie the ensemble together. Wear these jeans with your favorite dark denim western shirt or a baggy, old band shirt and Doc Martin boots for a tough, yet cool look!
Polly Ankle Strap Block Heels by Report Footwear, size 9.5 in mustard—Retail Value $50
My stylist, Katelyn, picked up on my love of mustard yellow and sent me these cute block heels. I enjoy the style of these, but truth be told I barely could get these on let alone buckle them, so I did not take pictures wearing them. It was a shame they didn’t fit me properly, because I can imagine these styled with the DM Collection dress perfectly! These would amp up and add a great pop of color to any outfit easily! I also appreciate that the shoes are sent in the protective canvas bag above as well!
The Verdict: I enjoyed the selections from Katelyn this month far more than last month’s Stitch Fix. I fell the pieces she sent truly reflect my personality and style. My favorites were the two dresses included. I was also partial to the Karl Lagerfeld top and Seven7 jeans because they made such a cohesive and well put together outfit! I also loved the personal note from my stylist and that she took my feedback to heart and checked out my Pinterest boards to find inspiration for my Stitch Fix. That shows such attention to detail that I love. I can’t stress enough to give feedback when checking out, rating sample outfits on the Stitch Fix site, and providing a Pinterest for guidance. How will your stylist know your likes and dislikes otherwise? Katelyn made me feel heart and I am eager to see what she sends my way for my June box!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!
Value Breakdown: This box has a $20 styling fee with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $352. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20.00 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $244 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s roughly a 31% discount!
