Stitch Fix Kids June 2019 Review

In our Stitch Fix Kids box, there were several bright and colorful information sheets, a set of cute stickers, and some information about their box challenge. I love that they encourage recycling of your box in such a fun way.

This is the invoice that was sent in the box. It provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items in the pre-paid postmarked envelope they provide. The items for my daughter came to a total of $212, but with the 25% discount (which they take off BEFORE they deduct the $20) and the $20 credit, our total drops down to $139.00. That's a savings of $73 on this box!

This is the included style sheet, which features pictures of all the clothing and a note from her stylist Isabel. Her stylist usually does a great job of listening to my feedback and sending Liv pieces that she thinks she'll love. This month she even noted that some of the 6x pieces were too big last month so she made sure to include more size 6 pieces this month!

Tommy Bahama Suzan Ruffle Detail Tankini, Size 6X - Cost to Keep $24.00

While most of the clothing we were sent was size 6, this swimsuit came in a size 6x and was just a bit too big on her. She probably could have made it work, but once she gets in the water, I'm not so confident it would stay up on her. As for the quality and style, it is really nice and so very cute! She was really upset when I told her we couldn't keep it, and I can't say I blame her!

Jessica Simpson Kristee Tassel Detail Coverup, Size 6 - Cost to Keep $24.00

To go with our swimsuit, her stylist sent this sweet little coverup. This is the first time I've seen this brand in our fixes (I believe) and I love how simple the design is with those fun pink tassels. It also fit her very well, but we opted not to keep it because it's a little more than I want to spend on a coverup that she may or may not even wear for the two weeks of the year when we are at the beach! It was still a great item to send though.

Stella & Sienna Serafina Halter Swing Dress, Size 6 - Cost to Keep $26.00

This dress was her favorite item this month and I think it is pretty adorable on her! It is really soft and lightweight and the length is great for an active girl like her. She can still move in it, but it is still somewhat modest if she is running around and playing in it. I love the detail around the neckline although one of the straps for the buttons at the back was already ripped when we received it. I contacted customer service and they were quick to respond and helped us by reserving an exchange for her that is already on its way to us.

Stella & Sienna Marcie Ruffle Knit Romper, Size 6 - Cost to Keep $22.00

My daughter was also really happy to receive this romper, but unfortunately, it was a bit too short on her at the bottom and while she didn't complain, it did not look so good from a visual standpoint if you know what I mean! I have it pulled down a bit here for the pictures, but it seems my tall girl has the same issue as me when it comes to rompers. Otherwise, the quality was great and it was a cute fun pattern that she and I both loved!

Studio V Tressa Embroidered Patch Short, Size 6 - Cost to Keep $22.00

These jean shorts were super cute and I really thought she would be into them, but she claimed that she already had a pair of jean shorts and didn't need anymore. This girl! *cue eye roll* I personally loved the style of these and thought the embroidered patches were so cute and definitely her style. They fit her nicely and also had an adjustable waistband to ensure a snug fit.

RUMI + RYDER The Cap Sleeve Tee, Size S - Cost to Keep $18.00

This next item should have been cute in theory - a shirt featuring a unicorn with a gold glitter horn and some silvery rainbow hair, but neither of us was a big fan of it. This shirt fit her well, although maybe it was a little big, and it was nice and long in the back, but we just weren't too crazy about it. She is wearing it paired with the Studio V jean shorts from above.

Mini Series Eryn Cold Shoulder Woven Top, Size 6 - Cost to keep $22.00

We just can't seem to get it right with cold-shoulder tops! They always end up being too big on her in the middle. While I have it pulled up here, the center of the shirt kept slipping down and exposing her chest, so this one wasn't a keeper. I think it is pretty cute and the pattern actually reminds me of the blue liner at the bottom of a swimming pool! It's not really our style, but it was still a fun top to try on.

Warp + Weft Koa Cut-off Short, Size 6 - Cost to Keep $24.00

This next pair of shorts are another pair I thought she would love since they are her favorite color. I love that that they are a more muted, neutral pink which will go with a lot more of her shirts. These again featured an adjustable waistband and the material was smooth and a little softer than some denim shorts. Since she really needed another pair of jean shorts that would go with anything I asked her to pick between these and the embroidered ones and she chose these even though she still claimed to not need any jean shorts.

Chenault Girl Mimi Flutter Sleeve Tee, Size 6 - Cost to Keep $24

This next top is really cute and is actually almost identical to another shirt she received in a previous fix. While this one fit her great and is really cute, especially paired with her new pink shorts, it was just much too similar to the other top. Her other top has the same exact stripes and flutter sleeves but instead features a rhinestone butterfly which is actually much more her style. I do love that this one uses pink thread in the stitching around the neckline though! So cute!

RUMI + RYDER Peni Scoop Pocket Knit Short, Size S - Cost to Keep $16.00

These shorts are very cute and comfortable with pockets and a drawstring at the waist. The gray shorts with a few pops of color will be great to pair with her t-shirts and will be perfect for running around and playing in.

The Verdict: This month our stylist chose items for our Stitch Fix Kids box that were perfect for my daughter. I had requested some shorts and she sent us three pairs to try and also included items that she thought my daughter would love featuring unicorns and rainbows and of course a dress since those are what make up the majority of Liv's wardrobe. Sizing is always hit or miss for us, but other than the swimsuit and the romper, the rest of our items fit pretty well this month and I appreciate that her stylist tried to address this without me even having to mention it! Liv loves seeing what comes in her fixes each month and I love the convenience of this service!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what we got, but you will probably get something that fits your child's style and size even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $212. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all of the items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the box is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $139. That’s a discount of around 34% for these items!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
