Oui Fresh Beauty Box is a non-toxic beauty box from the women at popular lifestyle blog, A Beautiful Mess. Each box includes 5-7 items of cruelty-free items and is $29.99/month. I was a big fan of their past subscription boxes (RIP Happy Mail) so getting to review their beauty box has been super fun! This month is all about EYES and since I feel like an expert on the subject (due to my large peepers) this is an intriguing box.

Oui Fresh May 2019 Review

You'll find an info card that doubles as a print and lists all of the items, plus where you can buy more of them. This month, the theme is "The Future Looks Bright" and concentrates on everything eyes!

Battington Lashes in Harlow 3D - Retail Value $28.00

First off, they've included a pair of 100% silk lashes from Battingon. The last time I wore fake lashes was in this fun makeup tutorial for Halloween last year, but I've also tried my hand at applying them myself (which is not my strong suit). Here, I find myself once again left to my own devices. I normally wouldn't model lashes for y'all but I thought you'd appreciate seeing them on so I went ahead and did it. These particular lashes are called the Harlow and are pretty high up there in the volume department. They have a hand-crafted cotton band and can be worn up to 25 times if you give them the proper care. I'll be honest, even though these look beautiful, this photo is probably the only time I'll be donning these babies.

Battington Luxury Lash Adhesive - Retail Value $10.00

They additionally included a full-size tube of lash adhesive to hold your new lashes on for long-lasting wear. So little adhesive is needed so this tube is sure to last well over the 25 wears of one pair so that you can enjoy using it on others as well. I simply spread on a thin layer to the band of the lashes, waited a short period for it to become tacky and then applied it right above my lash line on my lids. The thin applicator brush makes it easy peasy.

I started with a "before" look, so just tap the arrow to see the "after". It truly does elevate my eye makeup look in a very dramatic way!

La Bloom Lash & Brow Serum - Retail Value $25.00

This is probably the most exciting product for me in this month's box. I think I have rather nice natural lashes and brows, but I like the thought of treating them to a little R+R with this serum containing lavender and sweet almond oil. The directions say to apply at night sparingly on brows and lashes (or during the day if you go w/o eye makeup). I noticed it softened my hair and gave them both a shiny, dewy look. This should give your brows and lashes a little gentle love after all the tweezing and makeup we put them through.

Amaterasu Eye Pencil in Black - Retail Value $21.00

Black eyeliner is a staple to any classic eye makeup look. I haven't been wearing any recently, but am missing the bolder look I used to rock in my 20s. This liner goes on really easily and is super creamy but I'm more impressed with how well it stays put once set. This stuff isn't going anywhere even through some tears (while watching the Broad City series finale) or all those rainstorms we've been getting over this way lately.

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Instant Eye Lift Algae Mask - Retail Value $10.00

Listen. I love the luxury of using eye masks and how it feels regal as heck to lay around while having them perched below your eyes, but I have yet to find any that really WOW me. These are unique in the fact that they don't come pre-moistened with serum. They allow you to play chemist and pour the small bottle of activation fluid over the freeze-dried biomatrix algae masks to rehydrate them before using. They're quite a bit more delicate than the jelly masks I'm used to and stay put a lot easier so you can move around if need be while in use. I left them on for 20 minutes and while they did feel soothing, I really saw no difference at all after taking them off. I even took before/after photos for my own inspection purposes and I'd share them with you if they didn't look identical. I understand that these things can take time but the box does claim that these are an "instant eye lift". Perhaps they work for someone, just not me. The skin they covered felt oily and dewy but visually didn't do anything for my under eyes.

Verdict: Oui Fresh Beauty Box focused on eye products this month which piqued my interest but other than the liner and serum, the lashes and eye masks didn't really grab me. Since I'm not a false lashes wearer, the lashes + glue were pretty lost on me after taking some fun photos and that accounts for over a third of the box. I'll definitely be using the serum to see how it helps my brows and lashes and I can always use a black liner that doesn't run, so they were the saving grace of the box. If you want drama for your eyes, this box has a wonderful value of $94.00.

Gotta say you do look pretty amazing with the lashes on, but I am like you they are just not my thing. They always make my eyelids feel heavy after about an hour and I feel like I have to focus in order to make sure my eyes are open and I don’t look half asleep. lol
Great review as always Marne!

Sweet of you to say, Dawn! Agreed- concentrating on keeping my eyes open isn’t something I want to use brain power on haha.
