My Fashion Crate June 2019 Review

My Fashion Crate always includes an insert with descriptions of the items and their values. The front side of the page lists everything in the Essentials box, while the back gives you the Premium box details. They include pictures, which I always appreciate.

Yellow Striped Tie Front Top, Size L - Listed Value $45.00

I'm not sure how I feel about this top. My husband and daughter were very vocal about not loving the color combination of yellow and green and while I don't really mind that aspect, I wasn't a fan of how short the shirt was on me. The quality of the shirt seems fine and the material is lightweight for summer, although a little too sheer for me to feel comfortable with no top underneath. Since it is already too short on me, I think that makes it pretty unwearable since a cami underneath probably wouldn't work. I do think the tie front top is cute and definitely trendy, and I do really like the way it flares in the back.

Spring Floral Scarf - Listed Value $35.00

I don't usually wear scarves outside of fall and winter, but this scarf is so pretty that I am going to make an exception! I really love the colors and pattern here, and the soft, lightweight, silky feel of the scarf makes it a great summer accessory. While I won't be wearing it around my neck, I think it will be great in my hair or even tied onto a bag as an accent.

Here I have it on as a headband. I also used it to wrap around a ponytail which I thought worked well, although it was a bit long.

Gold Tone Black CZ Triangle Open Cuff by Sterling Forever - Listed Value $65.00

Since I am a gold fan, I am into this cuff and its somewhat minimalist design with the gold triangles and small(ish) black onyx gemstones. Although, the triangles are actually a bit sharp and can get uncomfortable if it twists the wrong way or when sliding it on and off! This is a unique piece for me and since I tend to buy more simple jewelry pieces this will be a change-up in my jewelry collection!

It is a lighter cuff and I love the thin gold band. It is also adjustable in that you can close up the triangles around your wrist for a tighter fit.

Showerless Conditioner by Busy Beauty - Retail Value $9.95, Listed Value $10.00

We have actually received this conditioner's shampoo counterpart in a previous box and I have been pretty happy with it, so I was glad to see this. This conditioner has a light, powdery scent like the shampoo, but this one is meant to help hydrate and de-frizz your hair while adding texture and body. I thought it did a nice job of adding some shine and freshening up my hair, although it runs the risk of looking greasy if I overdo it. I also love the cute design of this bottle!

The following items are only in the Premium Box:

Sweet Ivory Striped Top - Listed Value $35.00

This top is totally my style! I love stripes, and the neutral colors and neckline on this top are something I would choose for myself. The material is very thin and soft. I was a little thrown by the long length thinking it would look odd paired with jeans, but I think it actually works. It is a bit of an odd choice in a summer box, but since I really like the top, I don't mind! I haven't tried it with shorts yet, but I might be able to make that work, too. While I love the shirt, I definitely feel like the price is a bit inflated for the quality and material.

Nail Lacquer by Deco Miami in Better Than the Photos (6 ml)- Retail Value $8.00

This is probably my favorite brand of nail polish at the moment. This 8-free formula is also vegan and cruelty-free plus it comes in two sizes, 6 ml or 14.8 ml, which is great for someone like me who likes to have a lot of variety but doesn't necessarily need full bottles of each color. These stylish little bottles look great sitting on your bathroom shelf and the formula itself is impressive giving full coverage in two coats, or a nice sheer look with just one.

My daughter has been happy to be my nail polish model lately, although excuse the paint job since she is a squirmy 4-year-old! The first photo is one coat while the other two show two coats. You can see how much deeper the color gets with two coats. This is a great color, although I do like it more for the cooler seasons.

Verdict: I was pretty happy with this month's My Fashion Crate items and I thought it was a good mix, although some felt a bit out of place for me in a summer box. I love the last striped top, the nail polish, and the scarf, and I will definitely use the cuff and the dry conditioner. The only item that was a real miss for me was that yellow striped top. While some of the listed values might feel a bit inflated in price, I still think they are at least worth their breakdown price, so I always feel like the value is there for this box.

The total value for the Premium box comes to $197.95 this month, which is great for a $55.90 ($49.95 + $4.95 shipping) box. As for the Essentials box, the value is $154.95, which is still great for a $40.95 ($35 + $5.95 shipping) box. For the $14.95 extra paid for the Premium box, I received the striped top and nail polish (valued at $43).

You can totally wear a cami underneath that yellow and green top. You can either tuck it in so it doesn’t go lower than the hem, or let it go lower than the shirt, especially cute if it has a lacy bottom.

Brandi I actually think the yellow top looks really good on you. It stands out well with the color of your hair. I hope that you will try it one more time.

I really thought that first top was really very cute on you. I don’t understand the aversion to a yellow/green combo but maybe that’s because my favorite flower is the daffodil. 😊

I get it if you are just not comfortable in it but I encourage you to give it another shot.

I agree that the yellow top looks cute on you!

I don’t think the yellow top is as bad as you think it is. I can see that the waist of your jeans go fairly high and the top covers them quite a bit. If you’re still bothered, wear a cami tucked in. In any case, I think it looks flattering
