Also included was a trifold with more info on the brand.

And finally, a card letting us know that a VIP birthday box is in the works for August!

Now, on to the items!

Lipstick in 'Lydia', 3.5 g– Retail Value $12.00

This sort of shade is exactly what I expect to see in the subscription. It reminded me so much of MAC 4Eva but with more of a satin finish. I am really impressed with this lipstick! Can I wear this color? Absolutely not! That doesn't take away from how great the pigment and formula are. If you are on the hunt for a bold, true purple lipstick, this might be your new fave!

Disco Queen Lip Gloss in 'Roller Girl', 0.2 fl oz – Retail Value $11.95

I like the lip glosses from this brand and this one is a real treat. Sheer, pink, and oh-so-sparkly, this is summer lips incarnate. The formula itself is thicker, but not sticky, and works beautifully alone or over another color. I love the bright flecks of pink and gold shimmer.

Glitter in 'Jupiter', 3 g – Retail Value $8.00

I was surprised at how subtle this glitter was. The palest pink and loaded with sparkle, it would be a beautiful choice as a highlighter or lid cover. It has enough pink hue for it to also be a great sheer wash of blush.

False Lashes – Retail Value $9.00

I don't wear falsies, but I can rarely be convinced to give them a try for super fancy occasions. I will probably stash these in the hopes that I end up doing something exciting someday.

EXTRA: Koozie - Listed Value $5.00

Also included was a sassy koozie to keep your drink of choice cool in the summer heat.

Verdict: This month's Medusa's Makeup Beauty Box has a value of $40.95, which is good for a $16 box filled with indie beauty. I think this month was really great, and loved that purple lipstick! I have just the friend in mind for it and I can't wait to surprise her. The lip gloss is one of my new faves and I won't be sharing it. The glitter was surprisingly wearable, and has multiple uses. If you love indie makeup in exciting shades with unique formulas, you can't go wrong with this sub!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I’m so glad I just read your review. I got my box today and was pretty convinced I couldn’t use anything but the koozie! 😄
I’m terrible at applying lashes and these don’t look very impressive anyway. While purple has always been my favorite color, and I have been known to rock pretty darn purple-y lip glosses, mostly in my youth, this shade is just…something else. Even for people who can technically pull it off, I just don’t like it.
The gloss looked gorgeous BUT it appeared to be far more glittery than the other Disco Gloss I have from them. Like the glitter was chunkier or something. Still stunning, but I thought at 43 I would look ridiculous. However, luckily I can usually pass for quite a bit younger and after seeing your swatch it seems so much more wearable. than I expected.
Now for the loose glitter/pigment. The peachy pink, almost duo-chrome sparkle is BEAUTIFUL in the pot. I don’t normally like loose pigment but after holding it up to my blue eyes I decided to make an exception because it really made my peepers pop! Unfortunately, after seeing your swatch I don’t think I’m going to keep it. I’d have to really layer it on (and on…and on…) to get the opacity I was anticipating. I don’t like spending that much time on one product. I do think it’s still lovely and as you said, would make a great blush/highlight hybrid to shorten your routine without sacrificing the glam.
Thanks for cheering me up with another fantastic and realistic review, Megan!

Kellie Cole

I don’t consider this to be an indie company since the makeup is made for them in PRC. They only distribute it.
