Le Tote is a clothing rental service that allows you to wear and hang on to clothing and accessories as long as you'd like with no commitment to buy them and starts as low as $69/month for just five clothing items (I just switched to 8 clothing items for $89/month). If you do happen to fall in love with something, you can purchase it at a discounted rate (as well as take advantage of "tote sales" that make them even cheaper). In addition to their regular subscription, they also offer Le Tote Maternity and both come in several levels from 8-15 pieces at a time (all of which you can change at any time). My favorite part of this clothing rental subscription is that I get to choose everything in my tote if I want to! For someone super picky like myself, it really stands out instead of relying on a stylist that may or may not "get" my style. Le Tote will populate your shipment based on likes and a questionnaire you take at the beginning, but you can always change anything you don't like (more on that in my first review here).

How Le Tote Works

If you're curious as to how the signup process works, I wrote a more in-depth article back in October when I received my first delivery and walked through every step of the way. If you're new to Le Tote, that's a great place to start! I also wrote some tips on how to get the sizing right, and how to style your items with your existing wardrobe.

Le Tote Plans

As a quick guide, here are all of the different subscription options now available. You can go clothing only, or a mix of clothing and accessories. All subscriptions are only 1 tote per month except for the bottom two that are marked "popular" in which you get 2 totes per month.

You'll receive a personalized pamphlet with your clothes that go over all of the prices (both retail and the Le Tote price). There's often an additional tote sale price marked in red. This month, four of my items have an additional discount.

return bag

You'll also receive a pre-paid mailer to return any of the clothing and accessories you don't end up purchasing.

This month also came with a $100 voucher for Naked Wines. If you're not familiar, check out Megan's review about the company that sends all of those vouchers in subscription boxes!

I've normally subscribed to the 10-item plan that includes 7 clothing pieces and 3 accessories for $99.00 but lately, I've been struggling to find accessories that excite me on their site. Then I had a thought: "Why not switch my plan?". It was really easy to go into my account and choose to get 8 clothing pieces and no accessories for just $89.00, so I went ahead and did it. Here's what I got!

Outfit with Summer & Sage Contrasting Stripe Tee and Hayes Wide Leg Pant

Here's the first outfit I put together using my 8 items. Totes work apprope.

Summer & Sage Contrasting Stripe Tee, size large - Retail Value $58.00 (Le Tote Price $48.00)

I don't do many patterns, but it's hard for me to pass up some stripes. Especially when there's some fun diagonal action on the front with straight up and down on the back. It makes me kinda dizzy to look at the photo and that's what I'm going for with my wardrobe (kidding)! I probably could have gone down to a medium in this top because it's made of a really soft stretchy material, but I don't mind the way this large looks on. It's a little hard to tell, but this is actually a dark olive green color so I feel proud to have ever so slightly stepped out of my black and white palette. This is incredibly comfortable, BTW.

Hayes Wide Leg Pant, size large - Retail Value $70.00 (Le Tote Price $58.00/Tote Sale $14.00)

Wide leg pants like this seem to be all the rage lately. I'm a skinny jean gal at heart but would prefer to mix it up once in a while, so I thought I'd give these cropped ones a go. As far as the fit- they were alright except for a slight gap at the back of the waist which is usually what can go wrong with pants on me. They're still wearable and I think they could be worn with a variety of footwear. The cotton is quite thick and sturdy so these may not be ideal for summer wear, but the office is air conditioned so they should be just fine.

Calvin Klein Jeans on hanger

Calvin Klein Jeans Mid Rise Skinny Jean, size 29 - Retail Value $80.00 (Le Tote Price $70.00)

This did not even come close to fitting me, sadly. I normally wear anywhere from a 28-30 in jeans so they should have at least been close. They did seem quite worn, as though they have been in rental rotation for a while. That might be part of it? Sad!

French Connection Crewneck Striped Mini Dress detail for French Connection Crewneck Striped Mini Dress

French Connection Crewneck Striped Mini Dress, size 6 - Retail Value $98 (Le Tote Price $84.00)

Eeeeeep- I love this dress. It's so soft n comfy and I think I pull it off rather well even though I don't always feel great in dresses. Popping a jean jacket over this with a chunky statement necklace would easily complete the look. I could even rock this with sneakers since it's on the casual side. There's a wide white stripe down both sides which can have a slimming effect from the right angle. There's also something about long sleeve short dresses that are just cool to me. This is the perfect easy dress to just toss on before heading out.

Noir Multi Strap Cami, size medium - Retail Value $58.00 (Le Tote Price $48.00/Tote Sale $14.00)

If grey sweatshirts are my cold weather go-to top then camis are the staple top of my summer. I have a couple of scalloped ones I got from J. Crew Mercantile last year that I wear to death just with jeans and now this navy blue double-strap number can help with the lift. Again, I could have easily sized down here as it's pretty wide for my frame, but it works regardless. I like the geometric shapes the straps make in the front- it gives this cami a bit more personality.

Octavia Slit Jumpsuit

Octavia Slit Jumpsuit, size medium - Retail Value $70.00 (Le Tote Price $58.00)

You all know how into jumpsuits I've been if you've read my past reviews and this month is no exception. I saw the cut of the top of this and thought it'd be great for warm weather and then the pants are very unique with this slit situation so I had to try it. The votes are in and it's two thumbs up from me. I feel powerful and taller than my actual 5'3" height so I will be rocking this thing for an evening out for drinks with my lady friends. The back is a little too low cut for a bra but I could always go without if I want to be a little risqué.

MPG Boxy Sheer Cropped Mesh Tee, size medium - Retail Value $32.00 (Le Tote Price $26.00)

I wouldn't normally go for this reddish brown rust color but I was drawn to the boxy cut of this mesh top. I just adore see-through tops for whatever reason so this is right up my alley and again, great for the heat. As you can tell, it's super loose and a really boxy cropped fit which pairs well with the high-waisted jeans I've been wearing. I overheat very easily so the mesh fabric makes this super breathable.

Noir Sheer Tie Waist Jumpsuit

Noir Sheer Tie Waist Jumpsuit, size large - Retail Value $94.00 (Le Tote Price $78.00/Tote Sale $45.00)

While this seems like it would be the holy grail for me (a jumpsuit AND see-through?!), it sadly does not properly fit my body. I usually have to go for a large because of my wide hips, but then that makes the top of something way too large since I am smallish on top. Since it's all black it's kind of hard to see the fit but it has a tie waist, pockets, and fits well through the leg, but the mesh button down top it quite oversized. I really like the breast pockets and long sleeves on this, but it didn't really do anything for my silhouette. I feel like this would be a great power outfit for an office (perhaps with a more modest camisole underneath) if only it fit my top half better!

Verdict: I switched up my subscription option with Le Tote this month which was as easy as a click of a button. I got one more clothing piece and paid $10 less than the subscription I was previously receiving that had 3 accessories I didn't always wear. I like being able to change it on a whim when I'm feeling like I need more or fewer accessories, so it's a great benefit to utilize.
