Lavish Bath Box May 2019 “Garden Party” Review

Here is the info sheet- this month’s theme is "Garden Party!"

Lavish Bath Box May 2019 - Bubble 1 Lavish Bath Box May 2019 - Bubble 2

Moons Harvest Bloom Baby Bubble Bar – Estimated Value $6.50 (based on other bubble bars here)

This caterpillar bubble bar is literally one of the cutest things I have ever seen- and it's enough for three bubble baths! I was happy with the large number of bubbles one-third of this made, and the smiling caterpillar face made me smile in return. The scent is a mix of mandarin, bergamot, jasmine, raspberry, and gardenia- exactly the kind of floral garden I imagine a caterpillar happily living.

Lizzie’s Fizzies Butterfly Bath Bomb

Once our caterpillar morphs into a butterfly bath bomb, we are treated to a colorful mix of purples, pinks, oranges, and yellows that were fun to look at as I did a satisfying ASMR crush on. The details were hand-painted, and the scent is a mix of citrus, lavender, vanilla, and musk.

Grace + Bloom Spring Rain Solid Scrubs, set of 2 – Retail Value $6

These solid sugar scrubs smelled like a garden after it rained, and each scrub is enough for two showers. I used one scrub in one go, but that was because I was determined to scrub every inch. Luckily, while this was an effective exfoliant, it didn’t irritate my skin or leave it red!

Lavish Bath Box May 2019 - Candle 1 Lavish Bath Box May 2019 - Candle 2

Things Uncommon Bees Knees Soy Candle, 4 oz tin – Retail Value $8

I love candles and my apartment is like a half-used candle graveyard but it’s okay, they will all be fully burned eventually, and they all know I love them. I don’t currently travel often, but if I did I would totally be that girl with the candle in her toiletry bag. This one has a simple but pleasant fragrance of citrus, honeysuckle, jasmine, and lily of the valley. Basically, any product that has jasmine in it always smells delicate and feminine to me, so this is perfect for lighting before sinking into a long, hot bath.

Bath Therapy Honeycomb Bath Bomb – Retail Value $8.95

This bath bomb combines the delicious scents of honey, orange oil, and pink grapefruit to make a refreshing bath bomb that felt amazing on both my muscles and skin thanks to Epsom salt, aloe, shea butter, and extra virgin olive oil. I enjoyed this after a solid gym session, and it was delightful.

Glitz Soap Co Succulent Garden Butter Bar – Estimated Value $8.95 (based on other butter bars found here)

One of my biggest complaints with solid butter bars is that they are hard to store- but the Glitz Soap Co didn’t give me the chance to complain since this butter bar is packaged in a metal tin! This is deeply hydrating and nourishing- it is a bit too much for this humid summer except on my elbows and knees, but I bet this would be luscious in the winter. The scent really does remind me of a garden, too, which I enjoyed.

The Verdict: The "Garden Party" theme of this month’s Lavish Bath Box was absolutely delightful- while floral scents are common in bath products, a lot of these had a touch of greenery to the scent that really made me think of a garden rather than just a bouquet of flowers. While the retail value is never crazy (this month I estimated a total value of $38.40 for everything except the butterfly bath bomb), the exclusive products and stellar curation always add extra value that makes Lavish Bath Box a real treat to open and enjoy.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I’ve really wanted this box! I “was” in love with bath bombs ect.. But it’s just a waste of money for me. Like flushing $$$ down the toilet. With what I have left, I will use for special days like Christmas Eve & Birthdays.

First off, I constantly drain my bath water to add more hot water in my tub.
Then started on this coconut oil kick.. all you need is coconut oil in your bath tub and also as a lotion. Works far better then anything. That and I buy dollar store epsom salts.

They look “pretty” but doesn’t work nearly as good! If at all.

I’m saying this, because a lot more people need to save money and pay off debts.. You don’t need a lot of stuff to look beautiful or feel good!

Coconut Oil!!! <3

I had this sub for about 6 mo and quit because I was having too many things leftover… but I want to rejoin already because they do such a lovely job with the curation and the items are so so cute. This would make a great gift for someone who likes bath products – everything is just gorgeous. I wish it was just a little cheaper though.
