GlobeIn June 2019 "Picnic Box" Review

Each box from GlobeIn contains a booklet that talks more about the theme for the box and the items inside. This little booklet is almost as valuable to me as the items inside the box because it gives background on each piece and often gives the names and shows photographs of the artisans who made them! I absolutely love knowing more about each item and the hands that crafted it.

Just a heads up, since there aren't prices listed in the booklet for the items, I'm going off the prices given in this Globein spoilers post for items I couldn't find online.

Small Picnic Basket, 13" x 7", Ghana- Listed Value $40.00

It is a good day when I am able to add a new basket to my collection! This little picnic basket couldn't be cuter! Sizable enough for the most important items in life (grapes, expensive cheese, some booze) this would be a really adorable accent to any picnic or gathering. Made by an artisan named Alebipoorum in Ghana, the process to make this basket is pretty time-consuming! Each one takes about a week to finish. I can't wait to bring this to my next summery get together filled with snacks. I might even just use it as a purse since woven is in this season and it would actually be a great size for my wallet, DSLR camera, and lipsticks.

Tall Handblown Glass Pair, Approx. 5" T x 3" D. 17oz., Mexico - Listed Value $30.00

Handblown glasses are a staple in this box, and I love that I have a collection growing in my cabinets of some of the most beautiful glassware out there! These taller tumblers are beautifully imperfect and feature a lovely red, white, and blue rim. They complement the picnic basket perfectly! I can't help but get Americana vibes from the color palette this month and I think these would be perfect for serving a 4th of July inspired white sangria, with strawberries and blueberries.

Blue Splatter Enamel Serving Tray, 9" x 6" x 1.25", India  - Listed Value $18.00

Finally, our last item is a really pretty enamel serving tray. I love keeping trays like this around my house because they can be used for so many things. I have a similar one that I keep in my bathroom with my current skincare products. I also have a few little ones that I use to organize my nail polishes and jewelry. Again, this piece perfectly coordinated with the glasses and basket, so together they would make a really lovely picnic set.

The Verdict: GlobeIn really transported me into a summer mindset this month. My husband and I picnic frequently in the warm months and we also attend a ton of backyard BBQs and celebrations. I love that I can transport some delicious snacks to these events in such a stylish basket. They tray first perfectly inside so I can easily present my food on a stylish surface. The glasses are a welcome addition to my growing handmade glassware collection!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

This is way too small of a basket. I would be able to put like two sandwiches and two cans of soda in it and that’s about it. I wish they had like huge normal sized ones even if there are no other items.

I think it was absolutely meant for more of a ‘picnic for two’ sort of thing. I also highly recommend their other baskets. They are always stunning!

They had larger baskets as add on options. One of the best parts of Globein is instead of choosing a theme you can “redeem” the amount you paid that month towards add ons. So technically you could have gotten a larger one.. but may have still paid some extra.

It would make a great sewing notions basket though!

That’s a great idea!

Would it be possible to see a photo of someone holding the basket? I am trying to get a better idea of its size and am having trouble visualizing it with just the measurements alone.

Let me see if I can make that happen Mary June!

🤣 I am dying, I did not expect to see Sophia Petrillo in your review. PLEASE use it as a purse!

It’s actually smaller than the massive Dooney I lug around so it’s certainly a realistic option!

Looks like a great box!

I think a wooden handled cheese knife would have completed this set well. Great box!

Nothing makes me happier than scrolling through a review of a Globein box I can’t wait to get and seeing a picture of my hero, Sophia. ❤😍
