The Boy Who Never Grew Up Shampoo Bar

I am not big on shampoo bars as a whole, and this didn’t do much to change my mind- it was pretty drying on my roots, and it took a decent amount of deep conditioner to get my dry hair back to normal. It smells deliciously like a salted margarita, though, and I imagine those with oilier scalps would enjoy this.

Fortune Cookie Soap “Straight on Till Morning” May 2019 Review - Tink Argan Hair Shine Serum Top

Tink Argan Hair Shine Serum

I usually love the hair products from FCS, but this eye drop container is truly tiny, and the argan serum is too thick to come out of the container easily. I think this would have been better served in a small hand sanitizer container or something that doesn’t have a tiny hole to dispense the product. The scent is a mix of fresh cherries in cream with toasted coconut and powdered sugar, and I liked the way it softly perfumed my curls.

Kiss Lip Scrub

As a lover of matte lipsticks I am always reaching for lip scrubs, and I like that this one wasn’t too dry that it crumbled everywhere. It tastes like a watermelon pineapple popsicle, too!

Fortune Cookie Soap “Straight on Till Morning” May 2019 Review - Second Star To The Right Perfume Oil Top

Second Star To The Right Perfume Oil

This perfume oil has a blend of crushed berries and mint leaves with sparkling pomelo and iced sugarcane. It smells nice enough, but it is a bit too sweet for me to use it as a regular perfume. The perfume oils from FCS can also be added to unscented products, and I think I would enjoy this scent much more as a body lotion.

Mermaid Lagoon Fortune Cookie Soap

The fortune cookie soaps are a favorite from the brand, and I liked the fun colors of this- but it did leave glitter on me even after I got out of the shower. The scent is a blend of peaches, apricots, and nectarines topped with shaved coconut and iced vanilla bean.

Fortune Cookie Soap “Straight on Till Morning” May 2019 Review - Wendy Bird Aloe Me Whipped Cream 1 FrontFortune Cookie Soap “Straight on Till Morning” May 2019 Review - Wendy Bird Aloe Me Whipped Cream 2 Top

Wendy Bird Aloe Me Whipped Cream

The aloe me whipped creams from FCS are some of my all-time favorite lotions, so I am always happy to see them in boxes. This smells absolutely delightful with notes of bright green apple with a tropical twist- it is a refreshing, fun scent that is perfect as spring transforms into summer. Plus, the mixture of aloe with light lotion means that this absorbs quickly into your skin without leaving a greasy feeling.

The Verdict: I enjoyed the fresh scent's theme of this month's Fortune Cookie Soap box, but it really feels like the products are a bit repetitive considering the frequency that perfume oils are included in the monthly box. I hope to see Fortune Cookie Soap mix it up a bit more in the future because their creativity knows no bounds when it comes to scents and themes.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Uhhh Wendy Bird lotion?!?!? !!! Hardly ever see anything with my name on it & would have loved to have gotten this one.
Oh well!
(And lol to calling disintegrating soap a sparkle turd or dentures!) 😂

I was a big fan of the shampoo bars until I realized it was making my hair dirty faster, I mean really dirty. Although reviewer said this would be good for people with oily hair I really disagree. Mine is medium and it made it oily.

There’s a waitlist right now for subscriptions to open up. So I don’t know that July would be the first available box.

I usually absolutely adore most everything from FCS though I would have been bummed if I wasn’t moving and pulled the trigger on this box. This would have been my least favorite purchase from them and glad I didn’t buy. I would have been happy with the Aloe though and felt just about my money’s worth in that.
I hope they get better than this one.
They are a fantastic company with amazing imaginations.

This was my first box & my only box.

For the price and for how small the items are, it wasn’t worth it.

Kinda lame to try samples out when 80% of their store is “Always” sold out! What’s the fun in that?… It’s more irratating & frankly stupid. I’m tired of their.. “Well everything’s hand made excuse.” I thought they were a business?

The shampoo bar was the worst shampoo product I’ve used and smells like Apple Suave! Something that would be found in a hotel room type of product only and hijacked then put in a yard sale/ Good Will box.

I agree with the hair oil bottle, I had to cut it open/ fight with it. But enjoyed the product. I used it all fast due to very long thick hair.

I did enjoy the aloe lotion. Honestly it would be the only product I would go out of my way for to buy.

The soap I feel is only good for display use. After the first 2 uses it looks like someone left their dentures on my sink. Even my husband was like.. Who took a sparkle turd on our sink? Rename the soap unicorn poop.

I have to use sensitive soap for my body so used it as a hand soap. I’m sure if used in shower it would fall apart fast & easy. Id rather buy a good Dove bar of soap.

I think I’d prefer trying Ah Ah Sugar or another bath & body subscription.
I have a hard time paying $6-$10 for one bath bomb just because their pretty type of deal though. Its like putting a $10 bill in my bath water.

I might enjoy this box more if it was full sized, I missed out on that in the past. Just now learned about it.

The print out papers they use for their products seem boring after awhile as far as themes go. The other bath boxes seem to do it a bit better.

All in all, searching for something I really like, enjoy and that makes me happy with the total cost of the box.

This was my first box then I cancelled.

I liked the whipped lotion & hair oil.

Everythings too small for the price. Not worth it.

Also their store always feels mostly sold out all the time on 80% of their products. So that is annoying alone and makes me want to take my money else where. I shouldn’t have to fight to buy a product. Shopping should be enjoyable.

I didn’t care for the shampoo bar, it felt stupid to me. Also smells like apple suave.

The cookie soap is only good for display only. Otherwise after 2 uses it looks like someone left their dentures on my sink.

I’d rather try a different box like Ah Ah Sugar.
