I just opened my very first BB, June and the free one that came with signing up last month. Y’all these are teeny tiny baby samples lol. I don’t know what I was thinking, my bad for not reading the oz. 🤣🤣🤣. They’re so cute though and I love everything I got but for $15?!?! I mean, maybe I’ll stay subscribed for the freaking adorable little boxes lol. I got a drawer box and a regular box. The boxes were def the highlight for me!

Oh crap I signed up for 6 months. 😂😂😂

I am an Ace and picked box #4. I have been with Birchbox for years and they continue to be my one of my favorite sub boxes. I get the frustration from others. I get plenty of repeat items as well, but they are almost always products I love and use up right away. I am over 50 and enjoy hair, skin, and fragrance items and adore the silver shampoo and pretty scents. Unlike others, I have never received a foil sample of shampoo or the dreaded black eyeliner! I like the new curated box choices. Wouldn’t pay 15.00, but as long as they let me keep my Ace pricing,I’ll remain on board.😁

bwahahaha, will not be getting the least-worst box after all; it’s sold out. :/

Is anyone not getting the option to switch for points? Up until today I have been able to pick switch for points for all of this year and pretty much all of last year? I am going to contact them and see but was curious.

Lauren

This is the first month I was ever given the option to switch out for points. However, it says under my profile for this month only. Birchbox had said in the past they’ve slowly been rolling the option out. And, beta testing this with selected customers. Hope this answer helps.

it helped me! Ugh, I guess it’s box #3 for me. At least there’s two things I’ll use. Hopefully other people will want the rest.
Fun fact: 6 months or so ago, I got a mystery pack add-on. It was a chunky bottle of Mango Klorane shampoo and a packet of matching conditioner *and* the exact same Davines combo up there (I still have the two packets). I got the same “mystery pack” a few weeks ago: 2 little LOC cream eyeshadows – one an exact repeat (color and all) of one that came in an old box, and one that’s tiny and meh. Um, wow. Kinda was hoping for the shampoo package again….

Anne

ok, wow. I was looking at my past boxes to see if I was crazy and: no. Birchbox used to not suck. Look at the boxes from October and November of last year! It’d be insane to imagine either one of those as an option now.

I think this “choice” thing is meant to fool us into not noticing they’re putting out like 3 decent products a month, and cleaning out their warehouse with the rest. I mean, the difference in quality is just depressing. :/

Definitely the reason I haven’t dared to go with a non- curated box since March. Because, just too many people claiming they ended up with boxes that either had too many repeats, ( since BB does repeats now) too many items from the same category, or just very tiny samples.

Reply ButtonReply

Lauren

I agree with you 100%. Because, almost all 4 curated boxes have samples from other very recent sample choices or curated boxes. Even the MAC lipglass is something given out earlier in the year. Different color. But, it was featured in February’s curated box. Also, SO many people have been reporting feeling bate and switch took place when they decided to just pick one sample or leave it all up-to BB. Because, either they ended up with tiny samples, too many things from the same category, stuff that didn’t fit their profiles or too many repeats from past boxes. Since, BB decided they will be sending repeats now. Seen a lot of people claiming they ended up with 3-4 repeats.

Where did you guys get the points options? Was it in your emails? On the page? I couldn’t find it, and that seems a way better option.
I could maybe cobble together a decent box picking from all of these, but each individual box is like 80% suckage for me (averaged).

Christa H.

I just selected #3 pop of color 🙂

Dawn

Not missing Birchbox so far, but I would be all about #4. I have an invisibobble obsession.

Reply ButtonReply

UH

Can’t decide between box #3 or #4. Both have products that I will use. Which one has the bettet mascara?

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

I was pleasantly surprised by the Grande mascara – not clumpy, not yucky. Nice and defined. It’s one of the three that I reach for now (the others are Marcelle and Benefit).

Carla

I like box #2 most. I just did some online research and think those products most appeal to me. I loved that liquid eye color LOTs. If it’s the same one I received from a previous box I will be very happy. I’ve been more into liquid eye makeup than powders of late. They go on so much easier and lots faster too. Happy shopping everyone!!

Dea

Will go with the skin serum sample. A bit of surprise won’t hurt me (famous last words????)

Lauren

I ended up going with Pop of Color! I’m excited for all the samples!
Can’t wait to compare the Butter London eye gloss to my Stila glitter shadow.

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

They are totally different products. The Stila is very thick with high pay off, as you know LOL and the Butter London is like a jelly. Think Farsali jelly beam highlighter meets Charlotte Tilbury’s pots of eye shadow, or the Hourglass pots of shadow.. Its a softer “pretty” look instead of the high glam of Stila 🙂 Hope that helps!

Lauren

Thanks!
Still defiantly interested in the Butter London.

Kelly

Me too. I’m undecided between the 1st curated box with the Beauty Counter sunscreen or the Pop of Color box for that Butter London eye gloss!! Both also have Davines, as well.

Reply ButtonReply

Lauren

I’ve had everything from the 1st box in the past. Except the W3ll people loose powder bronzer and the Beauty Counter SPF. But, I can report everything else is worth having in that box. I enjoyed all those samples. And, I chose the Pop of Color box this month. I’ve had give me brow and the Tiger grass in the past and they’re great. Anyways, my point is you really can’t go wrong with either box.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I chose box #3 (Pop of Color). I’ve loved all Davines shampoos & conditioners I’ve tried, and I’m always more than happy to get more (those shampoo samples last me quite a while), I’ll always take a mascara in a box, and I like Gimme Brow. The others will be gifted, but I’m happy with the items I’ll be keeping 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

I’m intrigued by the butter london eye gloss in that box 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

It is really pretty (I got one last year as a gift from Ulta), but I’m so clueless on how to use any sort of eye makeup that’s not mascara! 😀

Jackie

They are also giving me the option to swap my box for reward dollars to use at the store. Hmmmm 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

I also got the option to swap my box for loyalty points. Mine was $13.60 (I’m Ace and idk if that makes a difference?) But I full appreciated the option to do that. While I would have loved to have gotten a box, here in Arizona it’s over 110 degrees and like 150+ in our mailboxes and things just get destroyed by the heat. So, I will sadly be skipping my next couple boxes but love that I can pick up a set at the end of summer to makeup for it 🙂 Birchbox is just the best!

Emma

That seems odd, unless you subscribed at a higher rate before becoming an ace. The sub rate for a month to month sub for an ace is $10 per month…

Belle

How many dollars? Is it equal to how much you pay for box monthly?

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

I’m an ACE and it was 9 dollars and 20 cents. I’m assuming they are using the amount you paid per box?

xtina

yes, it was $9 for me to swap the box for points basically, so i went ahead and did that since I’m sure in a month or two there will a limited edition set or something I may want with a promo code etc.

Lauren

I was given the same option. But, I was too intrigued by the Butter London eye gloss and grande mascara in the Pop of Color box! Lol
And, for 6 yrs I’ve been wanting to try the Davines color shampoo.
