Monthly Xio Bag May 2019 Review

Xio Jewelry Subscription Review May 2019 - Information Card Front Top

The theme of this month’s box is “In Full Bloom,” featuring adorable flowery pieces and simple yet stylish accessories to coordinate.

Xio Jewelry Subscription Review May 2019 - Information Card Back Top

On the back of the info card, Xio lists each item featured as well as what each accessory is made of and its retail value. Each piece is made up of 925 sterling silver, and the gold pieces are plated 925 sterling silver.

Florecita Ring - Listed Retail Value $35

This wrap around daisy ring is so pretty and delicate! The cubic zirconias dazzle and frame the yellow gem in the middle of the flower perfectly. I do wish the sizing was a little more generous to accommodate larger sizes, though. I wear a size 6 on my ring finger, and I felt like it almost fell a little short to wear like a normal ring. I love this styled as a midi ring, though, which is perfect for my fingers (see photos below).

Be My Sunshine Bracelet - Listed Retail Value $45

I love colorful gems, and sunny yellow is really doing it for me this spring! This minimal style bracelet has just enough shine to accentuate the other pieces in this month’s box without being too matchy or flashy. The silver and gold options layer nicely together, but really you could pair this with anything to add a little sparkle or wear it alone for a dainty look. The closure is your typical spring ring, but I didn’t have a hard time putting these on myself.

Sp-ring Fling Ring - Listed Retail Value $45

I’ve always loved the look of this type of ring, so I was pretty excited to see this in this month’s box. It is encrusted with CZ gems all along the front, and the back has an adjustable closure. The size of this piece seemingly elongates my somewhat stubby fingers, which is definitely a plus for me! It is also very comfortable to wear, no pinching or interfering when I bend my fingers - definitely a win!

Here are the two rings and bracelets in silver and gold; I am really liking all three of these accessories!

Xio Jewelry Subscription Review May 2019 - Send Flowers Necklace Top

Send Flowers Necklace - Listed Retail Value $55

Predictably, this necklace is my favorite find this month and maybe my favorite necklace I own right now. The little flowers are adorable; I can’t stop wearing this out, probably because I’ve received so many compliments on it already! This necklace has five flowers full of CZ gems to light up any look. The chain on this necklace measures 19 inches total with a 4-inch extender, so you could wear it as a choker or a longer style.

Blooming Studs - Listed Retail Value $35

Of course, I adore these bloom studs, too! They match perfectly with the necklace and Florecita ring without being too much of a good thing. These darling studs, as with the other pieces, have the same cubic zirconia accents with the yellow gem in the middle.

Check out that shine below:

The Verdict: Monthly Xi0 Bag is my monthly source of festive jewelry. I always feel prepared when I go out now because I know I’ll have the perfect accessories for any fun look, thanks to this subscription. Now that XIO offers a silver option, I feel like it definitely caters to a vaster audience. The “Take a Chance” theme with its green gems and lucky coins add a cute touch for St. Patrick’s day -- another great month for XIO!

The retail prices individually are pretty expensive, and I don’t know if I would pay full price for any of these pieces, but I think $70 is a deal for all five, and if you’re a subscriber, you can get 20% off any jewelry purchase on their websiteThe total retail value of this box comes to $215 this month.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? This month’s bag is sold out, but you can sign up for June.

Value Breakdown: At $69.98 for this box (60 a month + $9.98 shipping), here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Send Flowers Necklace: $17.90
  • Blooming Studs: $11.39
  • Florecita Ring: $11.39
  • Be My Sunshine Bracelet: $14.65
  • Sp-ring Fling: $14.65

Alternatively, for $69.98, each piece of jewelry has an average cost of $14.00.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Thank you I am following them on insta now

The jewelry is cute but very VERY overpriced and it’s not made in the USA. If you search Ali Express, you will see that each of these pieces (same design) cost only $2-$3. Also, The perfect example – they are selling a zodiac coin necklace for $50 in their website, but I got it from Ali (same exact design up to the colors of jewels) for $4.

Ugh I hate that I have to agree with you because I love Kathleen Lights but honestly the quality sucks so it’s not surprising to hear this. I subscribed for a few months and had to stop because all of the jewelry kept breaking after minimal use. Cute if you’re willing to spend $70 for one use jewelry but I don’t have it like that so I really thought I was investing in good quality items. Everything is non refundable just so everyone is aware and any issue with the products has to be reported 48 hours after receipt or else they won’t do anything about it.

no way! it’s kathleen lights sister (with her husband who used to work for sub co’s) who created this box; surprised she would do this, wow!

I really enjoy this subscription and it’s a great review, but there are some errors in here. You have the pictures of the ring twice (rather than individual pictures of the necklace) and in the wrap up you talk about St. Patrick’s Day.
