Itsy Bitsy Spider Felt Board Activity Set

Our first activity was this fun felt set. It included the pieces that represented each part of the story (and song) "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." The pieces are nicely made from eco-felt and wool felt.

My son had a lot of fun playing with this set and singing the song. This is a great activity for talking about sequencing or acting out a story using the prop characters. It was a cute activity that was great for a garden-themed box!

Flower Lacing Card

Next, we have this beautiful, vibrant, flower-shaped lacing activity. My daughter was always a fan of lacing as a quiet activity before bed—now this activity will be the perfect activity to help my son work on his fine motor skills. The flower is nicely made, and I love the way the holes are lined up. It makes it easy to see where to go next.

My daughter had fun playing with it, too! Since the lace is so small, it was still just challenging enough for her.

Felt Stacking Rainbow

This beautiful felt stacking rainbow was a huge hit with my kids. This is one of those simple activities that the kids just took to! Each layer represents a different color in the spectrum (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet) and is a slightly different size from the others. This toy is great for teaching colors and making size comparisons.

My son had a good time with this one, but my daughter is the one who actually kept wanting to stack it over and over again. Two Pink Balloons suggests using these pieces for color-sorting practice, or inspiring a rainbow scavenger hunt or nature walk.

Lady Bug Counting Felt Board Activity

The second felt set we received this month is this fun ladybug counting activity. Each of the ladybugs has a different number of spots on their back. The set came with coordinating numbers so that we can match the numerals to the ladybug with that number of spots. I love these activities where learning naturally happens as the kids play.

My daughter enjoyed counting the spots and finding the correct number to go with each ladybug.

Busy Bag Insect Dough Mats Set

I love when they send us Busy Bags! Busy Bags contain great activities to pull out for some fun anytime (although you really could say that about any of these activities). This bag included a little container of black dough and a double-sided laminated card with a ladybug on one side and some bees on the other. The idea is to add the stripes to the bees and the spots to the ladybugs using the dough. This activity helps build hand strength and aids in problem-solving and concentration skills.

We love playing with dough and even bugs, so this was another fun activity that the kids enjoyed. The dough is also made from food products (the ingredients are listed in the booklet), so when I noticed that the baby had eaten a piece that fell on the floor, I wasn't too alarmed!

Verdict: My kids are excited to get Two Pink Balloons each month! The handmade materials are crafted well and are always engaging and appealing to my kids. I love that there is a great mix of both fun and learning and that these are quiet activities we can use almost anywhere!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I bet as your kids get older you could also use the ladybugs as an adding or subtracting activity,
Like a 10 spot ladybug plus a 3 spot lady bug and then the numbers as the answer, combining the 1 and 3 for 13. Would be easy enough to make a “+” and “-” out of felt or additional numbers if needed just to get more use out of the board 🙂

Really? I could see sending this as a gift and paying $42. They seem very well made IMO. That rainbow is so cute I almost want one as a 39 year old 😂
