Lise Watier Dramatique Intense 3D Volume Mascara, 0.16 oz – Estimated Value $6.25 (buy the full-size version for $25)

I didn’t love this mascara- it claims to provide “intense 3D volume,” but it barely added any volume at all. Plus, it clumped like crazy on me.

Wander Beauty Lip Retreat Oil - Skinny Dip, 0.10 oz – Estimated Value $6.47 (buy the full-size version for $22)

Tinted lip oils are becoming more of a thing, and I am here for it. My lips love the nourishment that oils provide, so I was a bit surprised to see that this really has the texture of a thick gloss rather than a silky oil. The shade skinny dip is a nude that looked nice on me, but the color faded pretty fast.

Love of Color Luminous Lip Shine - Beam, 0.08 oz – Retail Value $10

I loved the color of this lip gloss, but I hated the formula- it was thick, hard to spread, and sticky. Thank you, next.

Beautaniq Beauty Glow Serum - Morning Dew, 0.20 oz – Estimated Value $6.57 (buy the full-size version for $22)

I have tried this glow serum before, and I like the metallic sheen this provides when I use it as a highlighter. A little goes a LONG way, but if used sparingly it can provide a nice glow without it looking like you’re trying to emulate the tin man.

Whish Vanilla Lip Scrub, 0.25 oz – Estimated Value $5 (buy the full-size version for $20)

I have tried this lip scrub before, and it isn’t the best. There are very few scrubby granules in this, so it is more like a thick lip mask rather than an effective scrub. It tastes like vanilla, though!

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner - Black, 0.04 oz – Estimated Value $12.57 (buy the full-size version for $22)

I am sure everyone is sick of seeing Eyeko in subscription boxes, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is actually a pretty good liner! It doesn’t top my holy grail Fenty Flyliner, but I am always happy with the jet-black color and the wings I am able to achieve.

PEEK Beauty Screenshot Natural Beauty Palette in Double Take, Full-Size! Retail Value $38

I have tried a few samples of PEEK Beauty before, but I didn't realize that the palette can be interchanged with various shades! The quality of the palette packaging leaves a little to be desired since it is basically tins set in foam, but I really liked the eyebrow powder and the shimmery eyeshadow in this set. The eyeshadows did have some fallout, but overall this palette is handy for having everything you need for a full makeup look on the go (and the included brush helps you nail your eyeshadow and eyebrows).

Here are the swatches of the palette along with the lip oil, lip gloss, and glow serum.

Here I am wearing the eyebrow powder, blush, and both eyeshadows from the peek palette, the eyeko eyeliner, the mascara, the glow serum, and the LOC lip gloss.

The Verdict: If you have been subscribed to Birchbox for a while, this kit probably won’t excite you. If you’re new to the subscription box game, however, I think this kit is a good way to try out different cult Birchbox products. Not everything was a hit for me, but overall I am happy with the products I got to try. Value-wise, Birchbox promised a value of $111, and by my math, the value here is $84.86. That is a pretty significant difference, and unless you really want to try out the Peek Beauty palette, you can probably pass on this.
