May 2019 Dapper Dog Box Review
Each box comes with an info card that lists the featured item of the month, the Dapper Dog monthly bandana, and some social media info as well.
Murray is ready to dig in!
Spicy Avocado Bandana - Listed Value $25
May’s bandana is hot hot hot! It is a silkier material than last month’s, so a little more prone to wrinkling. I gave this a quick press with the iron, and it seemed to sort most of it out.
Here is the bandana with both sides visible; the size and shape made it really easy to tie on Murray, and I only had to fold it twice to fit him.
This double-sided fiesta themed bandana is adorable - I’m not sure which side I like more!
Exclusively Dog Tex Mex Treats, 7oz - Retail Value $7.19 (Found here for $5.60)
These large chewy treats tear off easily into strips for smaller dogs. They smell heavily of cumin, and as soon as I ripped the bag open, Murray was all over me.
Made in the USA, these treats are wheat, corn and soy free, and Murray is obsessed!
Redbarn Barky Bark, Medium 6 count bag - Retail Value $6.29 (Found here for $4.99)
Redbarn is a great brand who doesn’t add preservatives or additives to their treats. These strips are made up of slow roasted beef esophagus (that’s it!), and they are also crunchy enough to help with plaque on your dog’s teeth; however, this treat didn’t last very long with my pooch!
Another win for my boy! He crunched through this chew quickly, and he also sucked up all of the tiny crumbs it left on my carpet.
Zippy Paws Avocado Toy - Retail Value $6.99
This large plush was a bit big for Murray. This is definitely not a toy for chewers, either, since it is a mere stuffed toy, but it is very cute! It has two round squeakers towards the top and bottom, which were a little much to get to for my boy.
I tried to engage Mur every way possible with this toy, but the only attention he ended up giving this avo was using it for a pillow inside of his bed. He didn’t mind posing with it, either!
Pridebites Taco Toy, 4.5oz - Retail Value $9.99
This taco toy really cracks me up. It is a toy style I’ve never really seen before. It feels like a felt material, and it is stuffed with what feels like a dense foam. It also has two squeakers and is machine washable.
Unfortunately, Murray did not get on with this toy either. It is a little awkward to carry around, and he couldn’t quite reach the squeaker in this one, either.
Verdict: Murray loved the treats featured this month, but he was not moved by the toys this time around. This month’s box has a value of $55.46, which falls a short on Dapper Dog’s promised value of $65, again. Murray was disappointed in the toys, but the treats will last him all month, and the bandana looks really sweet on him, so it wasn’t a total wash.
