April 2019 Sisley Paris "Cleansing & Protecting" Box Review

Each box comes with a card indicating the theme of the box. This month is "Cleansing and Protecting."

Now, let's check out the items!

Sisley April 2019 beauty box review satin pouch

Every month, the products come nestled inside a satin pouch.

Gentle Cleansing Gel with Tropical Resins, 10 ml - Estimated Value $7.92 (Buy a full-size 120 ml version for $95.00)

This formula is so thick and luxurious! It felt incredible on my face and gently removed my makeup straight away. It didn't have the classic, herby, chamomile scent I expect from Sisley products, but the cleanser did have a  summery fragrance that I found to be brighter and more lush than the usual scent.

Global Perfect Pore Minimizer, 10 ml - Estimated Value $71.67 (Buy a full-size 30 ml version for $215.00)

I redid the calculation of this estimated value about five times—the value just seemed so high, especially for a primer. Did it work? Yeah, pretty well, actually. It left my skin feeling silky smooth, reduced texture under my makeup, and gave me a matte finish. Would I spend $215 on a primer? NO. But I certainly will enjoy using this sample tube! This product has the classic Sisley scent I'm used to in these products.

Botanical D-Tox, 2 ml - Estimated Value $16.33 (Buy a full-size 30 ml version for $245.00)

This tiny little tube holds some wondrously dreamy cream! It feels like pure velvet and smells like heaven. This cream is loaded with plant extracts—these powerful ingredients are meant to rejuvenate tired, dull skin and help clear harmful elements. This product is meant to be part of a month-long skin "program", though sadly my little tube will probably only last me a few days if I am careful.

Hair Ritual Regenerating Hair Care Mask, 8 ml - Estimated Value $3.80 (Buy a full-size 200 ml for $95.00)

I was really hoping this mask would have the herbal Sisley scent I love, but it didn't. It still smelled absolutely great though and felt incredible in my hair. I used this on my ends after shampooing and left it on for about 10 minutes. I then rinsed it out and let my hair air dry. The results were promising! This mask gave me super shiny locks and a smooth finish without getting in the way of my hair's natural texture.

Intensive Serum with Tropical Resins, 1.5 ml - Estimated Value $8.90 (Buy a full-size 30 ml for $178.00)

This consistency of this serum is a little more watery than the Sisley products I've tried, though it is recommended for oily or normal skin. The scent is more medicinal than I expected, though like everything from Sisley, it still smelled incredible. Personally, I need a little bit more of a moisturizing formula. This product has extracts of frankincense and myrrh, which soothe and reduce redness.

Verdict: Sisley sent quite the variety of items this month. I always love trying out products that I could never afford! It feels like a little extra luxury each month, even if the samples are small. I honestly can't get enough of that classic, herbal Sisley scent, and I wish I could smell like it all the time! If you are looking to dip your toe into the world of luxury skincare, this is an excellent subscription to try. Overall, I estimated that these samples had a value of $108.62, which is ridiculous for a $10 box.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Wanted to sign up for this box but the current month available does not have these items sadly. And even worse for me, it contains items I have tried already so I guess maybe NEXT month? lol Saved myself $100 tho! wohoo

Had this subscription a couple years ago and let me tell you, this stuff works. I usually hate small samples and foil packets, but not from this brand! If I wasnt over loaded with skin care I would sub to it again.

I’m glad I read this review. I had put the Global Perfect in my give away stash. I thought it was the “Instant Perfect” that I don’t care for. I LOVE Sisley Hair products and this mask is great for my frizzy, wavy hair. I purchased the shampoo and conditioner. They’re pricey but also last quite awhile. I’ve used the Detox before and will probably wait until I have several tubes so I can use consistently for a few weeks. If you haven’t had this sub for long, they repeat a lot, which is great!

I agree! It is a great sub to build up for a little while then go crazy!

I swapped for the detox so I had an extra and got a month out of the two. I loved it.

Just used a VISA gift card for a 12 month subscription. Have really been wanting to try this one, the products sound so luxurious. Can’t wait!

I loved the serum! I have combination skin and I brought in along while traveling for business and it was amazing. I was also have a breakout because of allergies and travel and it really calmed my skin down (though it didn’t stop the breakout – no surprise).
I also really liked the hair mask. Super nice treat one night. I have dry hair, so used it all over.

I always save my little Sisley tubes after trying them for overnight or weekend trips. Makes a vacay automatically feel more luxurious!

I adore Sisley and would get samples years ago when I was in Nordstroms, but couldn’t afford full size. I think I’m going to give this subscription a try. It will be worth it to get those luxury samples.

Am I the only one that gets so excited for ridiculously luxurious skin care and thinks “I hope this is amazing!” And also “Geez I hope I hate this?”
🤣

No, this is too accurate. The struggle is so real!

I just signed up for a year of Sisley on May 7th, and can’t wait to get my first box 🙂 Can anyone tell me when they usually ship? I can’t seem to find that information on the web site. Thank you! 😀

Allison

They ship around the 15th of the month. I usually get mine by the 20th.

Thank you Allison 🙂 Hopefully mine comes soon then!

I noticed dollops of the products weren’t shown like in other different box reviews. I don’t blame you! I wouldn’t want to waste any of these products either! lol

I couldn’t believe the value of that primer either! I haven’t tried mine yet, but I sure hope I love it! I have tried many samples of that hair mask, and it works sooo well on my dry, frizzy, wavy hair. The sad part is is that I go through hair masks so quickly, that I just can’t justify spending the $$$ on it. I think I’ll add it to my Christmas wishlist instead 😉

Love your reviews.
I would absolutely sub to this if I wasn’t so afraid of falling in love with a, I gotta have product!

Megan K.

Thanks Ronda! This sub has absolutely introduced me to products I certainly cannot afford! Ah well, its nice to feel like a duchess while the tube lasts!
