I just rec’d my box. I didn’t open the bathing suit as I will be swapping it as I am too old for that stuff lol. The brush is full sized, the bracelet is beautiful, the skin care will be used. Swapping away the barrettes. The espadrilles run a bit small unfortunately but they should fit my daughter. Overall very happy with the box!

Can anyone find where to buy these shoes separately? I don’t want this box but I’d like to buy the shoes!

Just got the email about the bathing suit… Nice idea, terrible execution. It looks like it has no coverage and the style looks trashy imho. Plus the brand is… Turkish?!

I am European and when I buy shoes back in Europe I get either a 36.5 or a 37. Here in the US I wear a 6 1/2, a 6 or a 7 depending on the brand. For these espadrilles I will go with 37 and hope they’ll fit. Remember you can always wear them with the back side down, like slippers (totally common with espadrilles at the beach etc). I too disliked the idea of getting shoes in the next box but if they fit I’ll be glad. I wish they had the pink/beige or striped options they sent out with the teaser..
Regarding the brush, from the spoiler image where it’s next to a hand it seemed a bit small to me. I wonder if it’s pocket or regular size… Considering the mini “scarf” and bag they sent out with the last box I don’t trust them 😕

Really bad idea to do shoes in a sub box. I used to sell shoes for a living, and the fit and sizes vary so widely that it’s darn near impossible to know your sizing in a brand unless you have been fitted worn shoes from the brand previously. In my experience, French and Italian brands usually run narrower and often shorter than German or American brands. Even among American brands, it varies widely depending on the last the shoe is built on. I’m generally a size 8 to 8.5, but I have shoes in sizes 7.5 to 9. In Euro sizes I can wear anything from a 38 (Birkenstock) to a 39 (Dansko) to a 40 (Naot). On top of that, Euro sizes are often only in whole sizes 38 (US 7.5), or 39 (US 8.5)…so if you’re a US 8 you could size up or down, depending on fit. I hope they’re giving subscribers access to measurements for the last (width and length), otherwise it’s just leaving their customers with a huge guessing game.

Wow, I love this idea in theory. Gorgeous shoes. Just hoping the sizing works out 🙂

Oui sent an email last week, for subscribers to vote on whether or not they wanted these shoes. I don’t at all, so I downvoted.

It’s too bad this isn’t like 5th Ave and I could ‘opt out’ in favor of something else I would actually use.

Hi–for that it’s worth, have lived in 2 different countries in Europe and married to a born-and-raised European; I also sold shoes on commission while attending University. It really depends on the manufacturer. I measure 10.5 2A (narrow) in U.S. sizes on the Brannock Device but most my shoes are 10s, and all my German shoes (e.g., Birkenstock) are 41s. But if you go to certain U.S. department stores that sell Italian shoes, they tend to, in my experience, run a little short. I find that to be true also of Italian clothing–technically they are all on the standard European size chart but sincerely think they use different Lasts to build their shoes. YMMV of course but you may want to consider, if you’re able, to try on similar European shoes locally.

That comment was in response to Heather’s question!

Thanks. I did home googling too and although it’s not 100% consistent, the general consensus is that a 6 1/2 will be a 37. Ouiplease looks like they may be suggesting a smaller size than the convention charts I saw on line. I think there are going to be issues with people getting shoes that don’t fit.

Amazing! Very happy

Looking for advice on which size to get. I wear a 6 1/2. I know in a US size a 7 makes me feel like I’m in clown shoes and a 6 is a little snug. How Close to a 1:1 are US and European sizes? Like does a 37 run a little small or a little large compared to a 7? Same for a 36.
I’m thinking the smaller size may be better because they look like they’re loose fitting.

Does anyone have experience?

Also if they don’t have 1/2 sizes, is relatively half the population really wearing ill-fitted shoes?

Wishing the pink and cream one was an option. I’ll probably just go with the standard black.

I hope they don’t give out a variety of brushes because I’ve never found a round brush to be good for anything other than getting tangled in my hair.

I too was thinking the pink & cream would be my first choice!

Yes, I sure wish it was available.

Hi Heather,

I wear a size 7, sometimes 7 1/2. (in Ann Taylor I’m a 7 1/2 and in Nine West, Vince Camuto, Adidas, and Soludos I’m a 7).

I’ve lived in other countries besides America and I find 37 works for me. But here’s the deal, 37 is usually a bit snug at first but as the leather stretches it becomes the perfect size. I would suggest 37 for you.

For anyone else reading this 38 is way too large for me and inserts don’t help. Usually only high end stores outside of America offer half sizes (37.5, 38.5) unless it’s an American chain like Nine West.

If someone’s shoes are too tight you can always get them stretched. At the mall there was a place that made duplicate keys and also provided shoe stretching services. Weird I know.

Another random tidbit of potentially useless info. I can’t speak for the makers of these espadrilles but I have a fair collection of Soludos and I would warn you to not get these shoes wet. I was once caught in a rainstorm with my Soludos and the jute fell apart and the shoes stretched out so much that the couldn’t be worn.

Heather,

I used to wear a size 4 1/5 prior to kids, and now I wear a size 6. I’ve always worn European shoes, so I order a 36, which fits me perfectly. I would not want to guide you on which size to choose, simply because I have not tried a floppy shoe like these appear. Who knows? These might even be snug with the sewn upper. I know that I would order a 36, and plan on wearing a light trouser sock, in case it was floppy. Don’t know if that helps you, or not. I can only speak for myself. I don’t want to ruin the box for you, clearly, but thought we are pretty close in size, so it might be food for thought, but I’m not an expert on this particular shoe. The shoes that I order are always like Prada or Gucci in 36…very structured and sturdy. These looking sort of floppy at the bottom is what’s throwing me off just coming out and suggesting a size for you.
