Menlo Club Review "Living Your Perfect Weekend" April 2019

I've recruited John to help model and review this box. It's his first month of Menlo Club and he received 3 items: a top, a backpack, and some sneakers for his "Mix" style profile. Let's check them out!
Five Four Roberto Long Sleeve Polo in Green, L
A short sleeve polo similar to this one was teased in Menlo's sneak peek for April. Actually, all the teased shirts were short sleeve, so it's a bit strange for a long-sleeve shirt to be included. It's already too hot here for long sleeves, but I think this 100% pique cotton polo shirt will be great for fall. I like the forest green on John and think the sleeves look best scrunched up since the shirt is a bit long overall.
New Republic Ray Backpack in Navy
Who knew that the style of book bags we carried as kids would be back in style for us as adults. Well, Menlo knew and they included this simple navy canvas backpack in John's selections this month. The large main compartment is zippered and has a padded laptop pocket inside. Then there is a smaller zipper pocket on the front for smaller items. The bit of flair on this pack, the zipper pull and the handle, have a pop of orange.
New Republic Ellroy Sneaker in Black, 10
Gone are the days when John only wore tennis shoes or sandals. He has now entered into the world of cool low-tops for the summer. These are classic black canvas and white sole sneakers with long, white, waxed laces. They look great with shorts and will transition easily into cooler weather with cuffed pants or funky socks.
Verdict: I think this was a good start to this subscription for John. His favorite item is the pair of sneakers and I like the green polo though I don't think it fits the time of year right now. I'm impressed with how much time and effort gets put into the blog posts for the upcoming month and like the idea that you can update your style profile anytime according to the sneak peeks. I hope to see some fun summer colors and lighter fabrics for May's package.
