Harney & Sons is a fine tea company that offers two tea of the month subscriptions: a Premium Loose Tea Box, and a Premium Sachet Tea Box.

This is a review of the Premium Sachet Tea of the Month box, which is $14 a month.

A few individually packed bags of tea are included as well. This month, for the first time, we received an iced tea sample! I already brewed it and I love the light peach flavor. I hope to receive more iced tea from Harney & Sons now that we are headed into summer.

Yellow and Blue, a tin of 20 sachets – Retail Value $6.99

This is an herbal blend that contains just three ingredients- lavender, chamomile, and cornflowers! Along with being beautiful to look at, this caffeine-free blend is perfect for relaxing before bed. One of the perks of herbal teas is that it is pretty hard to oversteep or burn the leaves, but I did notice this developed an aftertaste when I left my tea bag in for longer than the recommended time. I brewed another cup, followed the directions, and had no issues.

Chinese Flower, a tin of 20 sachets – Retail Value $6.99

This is a blend of Chinese green tea with marigold, cornflower, and rose petals, and it also has lemon flavor and orange peel. I found that I smelled the lemon more than I tasted it, but the overall cup was a balanced blend that gave off a fragrant joy. Since this is a green tea I definitely followed the brewing instructions (the taste of burned tea is no fun), and even though this does have caffeine I thought it was the perfect tea to sip on while I soaked in a bubble bath to relax.

The Verdict: I seriously love my Harney & Sons tea subscription! They do a great job of sending creative and balanced blends, and I love that the teas come packaged in tins that are perfect for storing. This is actually the lowest valued box I have experienced since I started subscribing, but even though the value is 2 cents less than the cost of the box, I am still happy with the value thanks to the quality of the teas and the curation that goes behind it. If this box consistently sent a monthly box with a value lower than the cost I would be concerned, but this is the first time since I started subscribing in November that this has happened.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? You will likely receive the May box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $14 with free shipping which means I paid $7 per tin of tea.
