Fortune Cookie Soap “Fresh Picks” Review
Here is the info sheet for the items sent this month.
We also received a sticker!
Always a Wildflower Blossom Perfume Oil
This perfume oil is infused flower petals and smells like sweet pea and watery pear entwined with peach nectar and freesia. I like the scent and I think it is beautiful to look at, but I am disappointed to receive another perfume oil. This makes the third perfume oil we have received since January, and since the boxes are now sending fewer products I would really like to see more diversity in the products they choose to include.
Be a Pineapple Shower Oil
I love a good spray-on shower oil—sometimes the idea of lotioning up my skin just sounds like too much work, and products like these are the perfect solution. I can just spray it on my skin, rub my legs and arms together if I so choose, and I am moisturized and smelling like a snack. This shower oil is scented with essences of ocean mist and pineapple infused with lychee, sugar cane, and vanilla orchid. I like it, and I wish we received a bigger bottle.
Once Upon a Thyme Twinkle Tonic Exfoliating Toner, 2 oz
This toner has a lot of organic ingredients, including organic aloe, organic sugar maple extract, organic orange peel extract, and organic alcohol. This also has glycolic and lactic acid, and it really just has a lot going on in terms of active ingredients. I caution using this if you have sensitive skin thanks to the combination of chemical exfoliants with orange peel and lemon, but it does have a light, refreshing herbal scent thanks to the added fragrance
Olive You Berry Much Leave-In Conditioner, 1 oz
Fortune Cookie Soap makes some great hair products, so I am always happy to see more. This little baby bottle is perfect for travel, and the scent is described as wild raspberries in the field, delicate tulips, and a touch of Mediterranean olive sprinkled with lemon zest. It smells nice, and it adds a lightweight layer of hydration to my hair thanks to the milk protein and argan oil.
The Verdict: I enjoyed the fresh scent's theme of this month's box, but it really feels like the products are a bit repetitive considering the frequency that perfume oils are included in the monthly box. I hope to see Fortune Cookie Soap mix it up a bit more in the future because their creativity knows no bounds when it comes to scents and themes.
