FaceTory 7 Lux May 2019 Review
This month, there was a cute postcard in the box, as well as another card that lists of all the masks in this month's box.
Now on to the masks!
FaceTory Soothe Me Tea Tree Mask - Listed Value $5.00
This mask is a two-stepper! The top section of the pouch holds a small amount of unscented ampoule that you apply before using the sheet mask itself. The ampoule formula was really watery and easy to spread across my skin. And the sheet mask smelled like tea tree and was highly saturated with serum. It fit my face well and was instantly cooling. I noticed immediate redness reduction!
EssenHerb Canola Honey Mask - Listed Value $5.00
This mask smelled like honey and soap. It was rather sticky, and the clear serum was on the thicker side. The mask fabric was also thick had a texture to it. It fit my face very well! The heavier serum really coated and clung to my skin, leaving it very hydrated. The formula was a little sticky, but totally bearable.
Galantry Step-by-Step Moisturizing Mask - Listed Value $6.00
I got a second two-part mask this month! The first step for this mask involved exfoliating my face with a textured pad before I set the floral-scented mask on my face. I loved the scent of this one because it was a little like perfume! The mask left my skin glowing and feeling very refreshed.
Leaders Insolution Hello Moisture Glow Primer Mask - Retail Value $3.00
I have never used a "primer" mask. Often I feel the need to rinse off between using a mask and putting on makeup, because of the tackiness some masks leave behind. This mask was very interesting because it left my face feeling almost truly matte and perfectly prepped for makeup. Do I generally have time to do a mask before putting on makeup and rushing to work? No way. But this could be an interesting treat before a night out!
Farm Skin Superfood Salad for Skin Balancing Sheet Mask Mangosteen - Listed Value $4.00
This mask felt a little basic, but was super effective. It had a light, fruity-fresh scent and was drenched in serum (but wasn't drippy). It fit my face well and left my skin feeling hydrated.
Feelxo Pore Care Lotus Mask - Retail Value $4.50
This mask fit badly. Badly enough to make the mask uncomfortable to wear—one of my eyes was more than partially covered by the edge of the mask! It was also made out of a super thick material. This charcoal mask included lotus and egg extracts, but didn't have enough serum.
DewyTree Minimal Deep Mask - Listed Value $3.50
I absolutely loved this mask. It didn't have much of a scent, but the mask itself was a lime green color and the clear, watery serum was SO smooth and velvety. The mask fit very well and left my face feeling so clean.
Verdict: FaceTory was a winner this month. I really only disliked one mask, but the others were really great. I feel like there was also a remarkable amount of variety this round, which is always exciting. This is a great sub for someone who is obsessed with sheet masks and wants to try out high-quality brands that are often hard to find. I always appreciate the info card, too, because it gives extra details about the masks and their ingredients!
