Facet Jewelry Box is a new subscription box from the editors at Facet Jewelry and Bead & Button magazine. They offer two versions, the “Quick and Easy Stringing” version, and the “Bead Stitching Version,” so you can choose a subscription based on your skill level and interests, as well as the amount of time you want to invest in the projects.
This is a review of the “Bead Stitching” version (both versions cost the same).
Facet Jewelry Box provided this box at no cost for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Facet Jewelry Box Bead Stitching April 2019 Review
I am never sure whether I’ll be working on a project for days or just a few hours with this subscription. Let's see what this month has to offer!
The first thing you see when you open the box is this full-color booklet. I haven’t shown you all of the pages inside, because part of the subscription fee is for the projects that are included.
(Lately, I’ve been noticing some of the projects are from older issues of Bead and Button magazine, so if you’d like to do some similar projects, check out this series of books, especially numbers 10 and 11.)
This is a really nice-looking booklet, honestly, but I’d expect nothing less from the folks at Bead & Button (I’ve been a subscriber for a while now). There are also links to online resources if you need a little help with a technique.
Framed Bracelet
This month, we made two bracelets. This first one took a lot less time! A clasp, some bead frames, some fire polished rounds, some size 11/0 seed beads, and some Miyuki squares (which are actually cubes, despite the name) were provided in mostly shades of purple. Please note, you don’t specify a metal finish for the findings, and you’ll receive a variety of different colors. These are silver-plated.
I don’t have a lot to say about this one. It was quick to make and the directions were clear and plenty of beads were provided. The frame motif is something I will play around with further, perhaps with some of the one-hole halo beads from Potomac.
Woven Diamonds Bracelet
This bracelet took a ton of time but the instructions were easy to follow. This one used several sizes of seed beads, including some Miyuki spacers which I had not had a chance to work with before, as well as some small Swarovski crystals. This took me maybe four sessions to complete although I couldn’t estimate a time frame because a session might’ve been 20 minutes or an hour, depending on my mood and the amount of time I had available. This one was easy to split up, though.
If you get this box and haven’t started yet, I’d suggest making a few of the initial elements and linking them together before going for all 13 elements they suggest making, because then you can get a sense of how many you actually need to make, rather than spending the time and finding out you’ve made more than necessary.
Plenty of beads were provided for this one, too, and I had extras of everything at the end. I think this one would be interesting to do in different colors for a different look and I do have lots of all of these beads in other colors and finishes.
Verdict: I did not calculate a value for Facet Jewelry Box, but you get the materials and instructions for making two complete pieces of jewelry. I was happy with the instructions and all of the materials provided this month (including the amounts, and that we got size 11 needles to go with 6lb Fireline, so threading was easy).
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Boxes go out after the 20th and people who sign up before the 15th will get that month’s box. If you sign up after the 15th, you may still be able to get that month’s box but this is not guaranteed.
Value Breakdown: At $24.95 per box, you are paying about $12.48 per project.
