Fabletics Plus Size March 2019 Box - Package

Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. Recently, Fabletics introduced a plus size line of their fashionable workout gear! You can shop their line in two different ways—either you can shop through their regular store or sign up as a VIP member. The VIP Membership works like this:

  • Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
  • Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $19.00 for new members. (I’m not sure if “new members” refers to just your first order, though.)
  • Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.
Unlike a lot of other subscription boxes, you are not automatically sent a package each month. You have to go into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.

Fabletics Plus Size March 2019 Box - Review

About Fabletics

The Subscription Box: Fabletics VIP Membership

The Cost: $49.95 a month. This price goes towards the cost of the outfits curated for you. The cost of outfits varies, but you’ll only be charged for what you choose to actually buy. If you want, you can choose to skip the month, and you won’t be charged. If you don’t spend your $49.95 nor choose to skip, Fabletics will charge you the $49.95 and just save it as store credit for you to use later.

The Products: High-quality, on-trend athletic clothing curated to fit your size, style, and needs. Think leggings, tops, shorts, and outerwear for yoga, running, and all kinds of other workouts. Fabletics is targeted towards women, primarily, but they do offer workout clothes for men, too!

Fabletics March 2019 Review

Avery L/S Top in Black, Size 3x— Retail Value $49.95, VIP Price $34.95, VIP Sale Price $17.47 - Some sizes sold out

I have been looking for a cropped long sleeve top to wear after workouts at the gym or for when I go on strolls in chillier Spring weather. Fortunately, I found this top on sale with an additional 30%-- what a deal! The top is rather lightweight and has a curtain-like slit that drapes in the back. This is a super comfy top that I will wear on morning walks around the neighborhood for sure!

Salar Printed Powerhold Capris in Tiger Dash, Size 3x —Retail Value $64.95, VIP Price $48.71 - Some sizes sold out

It is well known that I gravitate to anything remotely animal print and my workout gear is no exception to that rule! These capri-length leggings are great for the warmer weather we are getting in my neck of the woods. I keep cool, yet covered on the elliptical in these. The only negative is that they don’t have a pocket, but honestly, these are so comfortable and hold me in so well-- a pocket is the least of my concerns! I wear these to the gym with my favorite Trixie Mattel tank top, but I also enjoy sporting these for errands to the grocery store or to lounge around the house!

Verdict: Per the usual, I am loving Fabletics! I am continuously impressed by the quality of their products. The pieces stay in fantastic shape after various wears at the gym and washes. My only complaint remains the same: the need for styles to be more inclusive and offer all the same options in plus sizes. I know you guys probably think I am a broken record. I am, but this is still an issue and it is one near and dear to me that I won’t be silenced on. Us big girls like quality work out gear and we want the same killer ensembles our thinner friends get to wear to the gym! I do also think it would be wonderful if they further expanded their sizing as well. They go up to a 3x, but it would be fantastic if they offered 4x and 5x items too. I love them so much that I want myself and others to have access to their full range! I suggest Fabletics to my friends for a reason and that is because they are immensely well made at reasonable prices.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, but only in certain sizes. Sign up here to nab the Avery top or browse other styles and outfits.

Value Breakdown: This outfit ended up costing me with additional discounts $51.43. The breakdown was $34.95 for the top and $44.95 for the leggings making a sub-total of $79.90. 30% off sale of $10.49 and sale item discounts of $17.98 were applied as well leaving the grand total of $51.43. The non-VIP price for these pieces a la carte would be $114.90, which means I saved a total of $63.47. That is roughly 55%  off in savings! That’s a dang steal!

Please be careful when joining fabletics. They make it difficult to skip a month (you have to click through multiple pages to ensure you’ve canceled) and they do not offer refunds for membership credits. In fact, when you join, the terms of service state that your credit “has no cash value.” This means that your money becomes non-money if you don’t remember to click through multiple pages each month. It’s horrible.
