DAILYLOOK collects your sizing, style, and pricing preferences, then a stylist hand-picks items (each piece ranging between $50-$300) based on your preferences. You'll be able to preview and edit your box of items before it's shipped (DAILYLOOK provides free shipping), and you'll only pay for the pieces you keep. Each monthly box costs $40 to style, but that amount goes towards anything you decide to purchase. Everything else, you can return for free.

My DAILYLOOK Review

When you sign up for DAILYLOOK, you'll communicate your sizing and style preferences. Your stylist will use that information to pick up to 12 items for your monthly box.

Before your box ships, DAILYLOOK will send you a preview of what you're getting. You can remove up to three items per shipment if you aren't interested in them, and give feedback to DAILYLOOK as to why. If you do remove items, DAILYLOOK will swap in a few different pieces to send in their place. (Note that you won't have the chance to preview these new items before they ship.) You also have the option of looking through the DAILYLOOK website and favoriting items that they will consider adding to your boxes. DAILYLOOK offers a variety of styles, and it's seriously so much fun to browse through them and make notes!

The fee for this service is $40, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $40 fee from the total. You can also skip a month anytime and avoid any charge.

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 instructions

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 stylist note

Inside, I found a slip with instructions for making returns, a return shipping label, and a note from my stylist, Veronica. This month, Veronica mentioned that she saw my feedback about wanting pieces made from lighter materials, and explained that she included some breezy blouses for that reason. She made some styling suggestions for the pieces I got, including how to style the items in the box with one another as well as with other items I might already have.

I can tell Veronica doesn't quite have my style down yet, because she has suggested white pants on multiple months, as well as slide sandals, which are two items I haven't expressed interest in. That's okay, though—this is a new relationship, and we're still getting to know each other!

For those of you who are just joining in on my DAILYLOOK journey for the first time, this is my third month in. My goal isn't to overhaul my entire wardrobe—I still have a lot of pieces in my closet that I love and feel great wearing. I'm more interested in the way DAILYLOOK helps me try out styles selected with my preferences and needs in mind but that I might not have otherwise reached for myself. (Who knows, maybe I'll end up with a pair of white pants and some slide sandals this summer!) Depending on what I receive each month—how much I like it and how well it fits into my current selection—I expect to keep 1-3 pieces per month.

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 packing slip

Under the clothes in my box, I found a packing slip that lists each item and the cost to keep it. I received a total of 10 items this month. DAILYLOOK also sends along a return shipping bag, though if you want to return more than fits in the bag, you can also use the box they arrived in. You have five days to decide what you'd like to keep or return. Once I decided, I headed over to my online account to let DAILYLOOK know which items I'd be keeping vs. returning. I also had the opportunity to provide feedback on what I liked and disliked and to rate the fit, style, and quality of each item. You must select a reason for each item you're returning. Once you've finalized your decisions and checked out, you have 7 days to return the items you're sending back using the provided shipping bag and pre-paid label.

Okay, ready to see what I got in my third DAILYLOOK box?

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 grey cardiganDAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 gray cardigan

Selah Ribbed Knit Cardigan with Pockets - Cost to Keep $88

The first item I tried on was this grey knit cardigan. It's very soft and cozy! I slipped it on over the outfit I was already wearing that day, which included the pair of jeans that I kept last month. (I have been reaching for these jeans often and liking them, but by the end of the day I remembered why I'm not usually a fan of stretch jeans—they were totally stretched out, and I had to keep pulling them up all day. Not ideal.)

Anyway, the cardigan was cute, and I liked how the sleeves were long, but I already have a grey cardigan I like and wear often, so I passed on it. I found out after the fact, by looking on the DAILYLOOK website, that this sweater must be hand-washed, and it made me so relieved I didn't keep it. That's just not realistic for me at this phase in life. It made me realize I should probably check wash instructions on all the items in my box before I decide to something!

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 tunic topDAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 tunic top from sideDAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 tunic top with stripes

Angela Deep V Striped 3/4 Sleeve - Cost to Keep $78

This top was cool and breezy and very lightweight like Veronica said! It's a little sheer (I'm wearing a neutral bra underneath), but I didn't mind that. My favorite part is the pleat underneath the V-neckline—it just adds a little uniqueness to the top. Though I didn't have any major complaints about this tunic, I decided to take a pass on it. It just wasn't anything special and didn't feel entirely me.

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 black tankDAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 black tank side

Sharon Back Keyhole Tank - Cost to Keep $65

Next up is a basic black tank. (And a guest appearance by my dog, Del!) This woven tank was a nice basic, but I thought it was expensive for what it was. I also didn't particularly care for its length—where it hits on my hips accentuated them in a way that I didn't find flattering. It fell into the category of "nothing special," so I sent it back.

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 yellow top

Bella Ruffle Hem Off Shoulder Tie Sleeve Top - Cost to Keep $68

I have given Veronica repeated feedback that I'd like to see more earth tones represented in my box, and I was so thrilled to see a peek of mustard yellow in the mix this month! I thought this top was pretty cute, but it had some downsides that led me to return it. The main one is that in this photo, I'm wearing a normal bra with the straps pulled down. I would never do that were I to wear this top out into the world, but in this season of life with a squirmy nine-month-old who constantly wants to be held (by me and only me) and is still nursing, strapless bras are out of the question. Going bra-less actually makes my life way easier, but this top needed a bra for me. I also didn't care for the pattern on this top, which featured tiny black-and-blue dots in kind of an abstract leopard print. Though Veronica actually sent me an off-the-shoulder dress in my first box that I loved and kept, strapless styles are a new look for me—they aren't something I want to fill my closet with, per se.

Hana Striped Slip Dress - Cost to Keep $89

This dress is so my style! I felt very seen when I pulled it out of the box. It's made of a linen-cotton blend, and I love the embroidered black stripes. Unfortunately, the silhouette simply didn't work on my frame. It was uncomfortably loose on the top and a little snug at the hips. Using the ties cinched it in at the waist in a flattering way, but I couldn't solve the problem of the dress being too big up top. So sad this one didn't work out!

Erika Striped Front Knot Long Sleeve - Cost to Keep $78

Here's another breezy blouse. The collarless silhouette and hidden button placket are nice touches, but again, this simply isn't my style.

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 skinny jeans light wash

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 skinny jeansDAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 cuffed skinnies

J Brand Maria High Rise Skinny Jeans - Cost to Keep $169

I matched the second breezy blouse with a pair of skinnies I was sent this month. I don't ever go for light washes, so I wasn't surprised that I didn't care for this pair. Plus, they were way too long. I'm cool with cuffing jeans (I'm only 5'3", so I have to do it often), but with cropped pants so in style these days, I'd love to keep cuffing as an option rather than a necessity.

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 boho top

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 boho top with shibori pattern

BB Dakota Tie Shoulder Tank - Cost to Keep $65

This top is so me! I thought the ties looked and felt so cute hanging off my shoulders. Alas, it's another piece that would have to be worn either with a strapless bra or no bra, and the breezy rayon fabric (which actually I like as far as synthetic fabrics go) was a little too clingy on my breasts for my comfort.

After I decided to return this top, I went back to my initial style profile survey and update a few of my answers. I had indicated that I like to wear neutrals and that I only dress boho some of the time. Both are true, but I think I have my wardrobe's basics covered for now and would rather be sent more exciting pieces to consider.

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 navy and white boho top

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 black jeans

J Brand Johnny Mid Rise Boyfit - Cost to Keep $159

DAILYLOOK says these jeans have a "boyfriend" fit, but to me they just seemed big overall. I hated the way they felt on my body, I couldn't understand why a loose-fitting pant would also have stretch, and they were also a little scratchy. I gave Veronica feedback on these pants so that she can focus more on sending me tops, dresses, and skirts going forward, unless there's a truly standout pair of pants she thinks I'd like to try.

Sara Flutter Sleeve Polka Dot Dress - Cost to Keep $108

Finally, I tried on this adorable dress. Oh my gosh I felt so good and cute in this pretty piece! I was rarin' for a date! The ruffled details were really fun to wear, the material was light and breezy, and I thought it was listed at a good price. In the end, I decided to return this dress as well, because I just couldn't fathom when I'd wear it within the next year or so. Plus, its tiny pin-dot pattern felt a little too preppy for my taste. I didn't deliberate for too long, because I just knew in my gut that this dress would sit unworn in my closet for a long time. But I was still sad to turn it down.

DAILYLOOK styling subscription review may 2019 chocolate

BONUS: Theo 70% Dark Chocolate Bar with Sea Salt

For the second month in a row, I got some surprise chocolate to sample! It's the same flavor as last month: 70% dark chocolate with sea salt that has the greatest crunch when you bite into it.

Verdict: I was bummed that nothing in my third DAILYLOOK box worked out for me, but I believe this month was a great step in the right direction. Veronica sent me several items that felt totally right for me style-wise—their fit or function was just a little off, which of course isn't her fault! After trying pieces that really didn't feel right for me, I decided to give clear feedback to Veronica saying that I'd like her to go in a different direction. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for more color in my next box, and I'm hoping that since I changed my style profile to reflect that wish, it will be top of mind for Veronica!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? You can sign up for your first month's box now, but your selections will look different than mine.

Value Breakdown: For a $40 styling fee, I received 10 styles that came to $967 retail. I can keep or return any of the pieces and get free shipping both ways. If I do keep anything, the $40 styling fee will be deducted from my order.

Girllll you totally do not look like you had a baby recently or ever lol. I especially love how you look in that beautiful blue dress and I thought you looked really happy in the mustard shirt. You could have paired it with a bra color similar (or even the dot color) and just leave the bra straps up.
I love your style by the way (I’m bohemian with a slight preppy athleisure undertone haha)
Akways love your reviews because your smile is always the best thing you’re wearing 🙂

Oh gosh, you flatter me so! So sweet of you to say!

Way too hot for sleeves and sweaters. Also, if I’m paying these prices I prefer to select my own clothes.

Since this was sent at no cost, you didn’t lose the styling fee, but if you had paid for it yourself, what item would you have kept in order to not waste that 40 bucks?

Christen Russo

Good question! I liked the polka dot dress the best, so probably that—though if I didn’t want to contribute too much additional money to the $40 fee, I’d consider the boho tank. 🙂

Trish

This box seems so out of touch but maybe there are more people that can afford this than I realize. $65 for a black tank top and $169 for jeans is way out of my price range. Even the $40 to be styled that I may lose would be too much risk for me. I’ll pay money for quality clothes but I can style myself by looking online and then sending items back to the store if needed.

That last dress looked great on you- as did many of the other pieces. The dress was my favorite… aside from Del!!

I’ll tell Del you said so! 😀

I, too, was a little confused at how many sleeves I found in my box—jeans, too. Hoping for more light & easy pieces in June!
