Cat Lady Box May 2019 Review

Cat Lady Box is always full of fun, cat-themed lifestyle items. Let’s see what was in store for May:

Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Booklet Front Top Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Booklet Back Top

I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month. And the back has more information about the items in the box.

Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Catcon Top 1 Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Catcon Top 2

There was also a card advertising Catcon.

Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Fluffy Heart Catnip Toy Top

Fluffy Heart Catnip Toy – Listed Value $5.99

Here is the first toy for the month. This is a catnip plush with some fuzzy stuff around the edges that almost disguises the fact that it is shaped like a heart. But, my cats liked the fuzzy stuff.

Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Crinkle Catnip Cupcake Top

Crinkle Catnip Cupcake – Listed Value $4.99

Here is the second toy for the month. I did not know when I was taking photographs that this was supposed to be a cupcake, hence the odd angle. Sneaky was, by far, the most interested in this, as you will see below.

Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Band of Cats Cuff Bracelet Top Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Band of Cats Cuff Bracelet Closup Top

Band of Cats Cuff Bracelet – Listed Value $21.99

The information card lists this as slightly adjustable but it really isn’t. Which is too bad because it is WAAAAAAY too big for me. As in, it is in danger of falling off my wrist at the slightest touch. This is frequently a problem for me with subscription box bracelets and I suspect I am in the minority. (If you look at bracelet size charts online, I apparently have the wrist size of a small child.) I like this, but I may have to find another cat lover to pass it on to because of the size issue.

Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Cat Mom T-Shirt Top

Cat Mom T-Shirt – Listed Value $24.99

You’ll get a shirt with this subscription most months. This is a good color for me (I don’t like neutrals, but pink is A-OK) and a simple design. It is definitely going into the weekend errands wardrobe rotation.

Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Neon Cat Light Box Front Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Neon Cat Light Open Top Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Neon Cat Light Closup Front

Neon Cat Light – Listed Value $14.99

This was a spoiler item for the month and I think it is fun. It is an LED light so it won’t get hot. I put batteries in for the third picture, but there is also a USB cord attached so you have options. Mine worked well, as you can see.

Here are some kitty pictures for you:

Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Angus Front 1 Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Angus Front 2

Angus only wants to take pictures on the table now. That is a very small part of my bead collection in the background.

Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Madison Front

Madison looks annoyed here, but I don’t think he actually was. He liked the fuzzy stuff on this toy.

Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Monkey Front

Monkey investigates the cupcake.

Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Sneaky Front 1 Cat Lady Box May 2019 - Sneaky Front 2

Sneaky bites the cupcake! Totally channeling Mr. Kitty here – this is something he definitely would’ve done in his younger, healthier years.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $72.95 for the May 2019 (Crazy) Cat Lady Box. I was mostly happy with the items, though a little disappointed that I won’t be able to wear the bracelet. I am obsessed with the light, and Sneaky’s reaction to the cupcake toy made my day.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Officially your subscription would start with June’s box, but way back when I signed up, I was contacted to say there were a few of the current month’s box left over and asked if I’d like one of those. So it may be worth inquiring.

LIMITED TIME DEAL: Now through 5/22, use coupon code LOVECATS15 to save 15% off your first Cat Lady box! (Regularly $34.99 a box)

Value Breakdown: At a price of $39.99 for this box, you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Heart toy $3.28
  • Cupcake toy $2.73
  • Bracelet $12.05
  • Shirt $13.70
  • Light $8.22

Omg. I thought the light was really stupid when it was spoiled, but now I see it IRL and it looks awesome. I’ll have to see if I can pick it up on the site.

Ragan, if that’s just a part of your bead collection, I can’t even imagine how big it must be!

Angus is very good at licking his nose! Made me laugh. Thanks!

Maybe this should be embarrassing but I’m guessing that’s like 5% of my collection showing in the picture.

In that first picture of the cupcake, I thought it was a kitty HAT and didn’t think that would go over too well. lol. Glad it was just a cupcake toy.

Lots of Ragan’s Kitty pics today to make us smile!

So sorry to see the other comment about Mr. Kitty, he was well loved and will be missed.

Goodness you are so well organized with your beads!

I always love the art work included. I wish besides the info card we could get a note card or postcard with the same art included in the box.

Ragan, I am just now learning that Mr. Kitty passed away. I looked up your older reviews when I didn’t see him in this review’s kitty photos. I love seeing all your cats, but I know how special Mr. Kitty was to you. I had to have my eldest kitty, Bella, put down a couple years ago and, while it was the hardest thing to do, I knew it was the best thing to do since her health had declined and she was beginning to suffer. I read an article online once that said it’s the last act of love a pet owner can do for their pet when the time comes. I’m sure you’ve heard of the rainbow bridge story. When Bella died, it gave me comfort with the hope that I’ll be reunited with her again someday. Just know that I, along with tons of other people I’m sure, learned to love Mr. Kitty through your obvious love and devotion demonstrated in your reviews and photos of him. He was a special one!

I LOVED this box! So did my kitties. This has been my favorite box (with the kitchen box running a very close second) and I’m so glad I got it. All of my cats loved both toys this time. The shirt is sooo soft. As for the bracelet, I can wear it, but it’s very loose. I use it as decorative on my dresser (around a pretty jar) when I don’t want to wear it. The light? Omg! That is the whole reason I got the box. It is so fun!

This was my first cat lady box and I loved it as did my cat, Rocky. He leapt up and stole the toys before I unwrapped them. The catnip must have been extra fresh because he started chewing and then licking the box. He’s very particular about toys, but liked both.

I have a pretty average wrist and the bracelet didn’t work for me either. I’m curious if anyone liked the bracelet after trying to wear it. I couldn’t think of an alternate use for it so it went into a donation box.

My wrist is very small, which is a pain when you like to wear bracelets that are snug around your wrist. This particular bracelet sounds like it doesn’t work for most people.

Love the picture of Angus with his tongue out!

I love that one of Angus too! It’s hard to get that in a picture. I also love the one of Sneaky biting the cupcake. Adorable!
