Boxwalla Mother’s Day Face and Body Ritual Set Review
Each Boxwalla box comes with a letter printed on high-quality cardstock detailing the items included.
Siam Seas Kwam Rak Body Serum, Full-Size! Retail Value $90
First off, look at that box! This is by far the most luxury body product I've ever owned, and I knew that before I even opened the box it came in. Siam Seas is a skincare brand that focuses on Southeast Asian philosophies and ingredients. This body serum is made with Aloe Vera, mustard seed oil, and a whole host of ceramides and plant botanicals. This body serum is a hybrid between a body lotion and body oil, and I love how nourishing it is to my skin without having the heaviness that can come with using an oil. The scent is a blend of nutmeg and jasmine, and thanks to the mustard seed, this serum actually has a light cooling sensation that feels great on its own but would be incredible after a long, hot shower.
Siam Seas Sai Clear Skin Serum, Full-Size! Retail Value $65
I stopped using a Vitamin C Serum in the mornings in the favor of laziness and WOW did my skin tell me that wasn't okay. I need all of the vitamin C to help correct and prevent skin damage (thanks, sun!), so I'm happy to try this one out. With Vitamin C serums you really need 4-6 weeks of consistent use to see real results, but after my few days of use, there were a few things that stood out to me. This has a thick, slightly grainy texture thanks to the powdered gypsum (which is known for wound healing and tissue regeneration), and because of the gypsum, this actually has a cooling effect on my skin once applied. My redness looked improved after using, and one pump is enough for my entire face after warming it up in my hands so this bottle should last for a while.
Malaya Organics Advanced Repair Mask – Neem Honey Herbal Complex, Full-Size! Retail Value $78
This face mask arrived at the perfect time- I have been dealing with a nasty cystic acne breakout on my chin (the worst I've had in months) after trying out a product that had coconut oil as the main ingredient. My chin is red, inflamed, sore, and ready to fight someone- so naturally, I should try some new skincare products, right (lol, don't be me). I took a long look at the ingredients list before slathering this on, and the first one is neem flower honey. Honey is great for acne because it is naturally anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. This mask also has bentonite and kaolin clay, Aloe Vera, and a proprietary blend of herbs to help repair skin. The mask itself has a watery consistency that spread out easily (usually honey masks are MUCH thicker), and when I rinsed it away there was a gentle grit that exfoliated without being abrasive. My acne was noticeably calmer after one use, and this mask with the moisturizer also included in this box was the perfect healing combo for my stressed out skin. The mask can also be used as a spot treatment, too, if that is more your style.
Flower and Spice Modern Apothecary Soothe and Repair Daily Moisturizer Rose and Coriander, Full-Size! Retail Value $82
I have not been able to stop using this moisturizer since I've opened it- my skin LOVES it. This is packed with incredible ingredients like coriander seed oil (which is naturally anti-inflammatory), prickly pear seed oil, Aloe Vera, rose water, and arctic oat extract. This actually noticeably smells like cilantro thanks to the coriander seed, and while it doesn't bother me it is something to be aware of if you are sensitive to scents. This is instantly soothing to my sore, pimply chin, and it's not too heavy on the thinner parts of my skin too. I can use this morning and night with no issue, and a little goes a long way. I did notice if I applied too much it felt like a small film was left on my skin, but since I was going to bed I figured I would just let the moisturizer do its thing. I am going to be very sad when this jar is out!
The Verdict: This is my first time experiencing Boxwalla beauty, and I am blown away. Each and every item had an amazing ingredients list and they exceeded my expectations in terms of performance. Each product definitely felt luxurious, too, which is important when you’re dealing with boxes at this price point. I think this was a great assortment for a Mother's Day gift, and I think even ladies like my mom, who aren't that into beauty or skincare, would be able to tell that these were high-quality products meant to make them feel appreciated and pampered. I definitely feel that way, and all I've done lately is finish my last semester of law school (which is probably about 30% as difficult as being a mom). If I had one critique, it would be that I wish the items were packaged together in one box rather than two separate boxes. This set was a combination of their April and February boxes, but I think having them in one big box would have made the unboxing experience even better.
