Boxwalla Beauty Box "Summer in Hangzhou" June 2019 Review

Each Boxwalla box comes with a letter printed on high-quality cardstock detailing the items included. This time there is also a booklet from featured brand 5Yina that talks about their Lucent line.

In addition to the lovely box, the 5Yina products come in a branded drawstring bag and wrapped in black tissue paper with a gold seal.

5Yina Lucent Summer Hydrolat, 50 ml - Estimated Retail Value $37.50 (Buy 60 ml for $45.00)

I am just obsessed with toners and mists lately so getting to try this one packed full of honeysuckle flower, green tea, and lotus leaves is a dream. The pump delivers an ultra-fine mist of lovely scented ingredients that not only hydrates but also cleanses and refreshes. This can be used as a toner after cleansing or anytime during the day as a pick-me-up for dull-feeling skin. After a couple of pumps, my face feels a little bit fresher and dewier than before. Aloe, cucumber, peppermint, witch hazel, lavender, and a slew of other ingredients make this feel lavish and soothing. I'm a big fan of this Summery mix and can anticipate the sunnier days ahead.

5Yina Lucent Summer Beauty Oil, 30 ml - Retail Value $145.00

As the accompanying booklet tells us, the Lucent line was inspired by summers in Hangzhou, China. Founders Angela Chou and Ervina Wu used Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to find a way to keep skin glowing instead of oily and this is one of the products they produced to do just that. At first, I thought "Okay, here's just another beauty oil" but I was so wrong. One early evening after a long day of traveling in a car and then being out in the sun, I gave my face a fresh wash before going to dinner and caught my reflection in the mirror of my Airbnb. My gosh, my skin looked SO GOOD. I was GLOWING. But why? Why did today seem different? And then I remembered I used this beauty oil that morning, as I did a few mornings before. I looked simply radiant and could not get over how dewy and almost darn-right sparkling my face looked. I tried to photograph it to send to my girlfriends' group chat but couldn't quite capture that magic. Is it the radix ophiopogonis that was elevating this beauty oil to another plane? It says it's a "nourishing and micronutrient-rich root that provides long-lasting lightweight hydration and glow", so I'm gonna go with that. I am obsessed with this product and you cannot change my mind.

Verdict: Boxwalla Beauty consistently offers high-end green beauty that I love to discover. Having not heard of 5Yina, I was able to try a new brand and be delighted by the toner essence and found a new all-time favorite beauty oil. This box has a retail value of $182.50 which is more than three times the $49.95 cost, so I think it's a wonderful value if this is a brand you're interested in trying.

I received my box with 5 Yina products, was super excited to try but when I tried to spray the bottle it popped open and product fell off since it was opened I looked into the bottle and to my surprise it had black residue from the plastic cap.. when I sent pictures to boxwalla they didn’t even consider asking me to send the product to review and send another one they straight off ignored saying it’s just the product residue.. I even asked them to send an older box and not worry about it but their response was product is good we don’t replace.. if I were them I atleast would have the product back to check than to ignore.. poor customer service very disappointing

I’m super duper excited as “Boxwalla” says this oil plays well with Siam Seas Sai Serum which I will never ever be without… I’m super happy. Not one disappointment from this subscription.
