Bombay & Cedar "Green" Review
The box comes with a booklet of information that lists out the products and highlights some of the brands. The theme this month is 'Green' and it looks like we have a ton of variety this month!
Eucalyptus Essential Oil Blend, 10 ml - Listed Value $12.00
Carrot Seed Essential Oil, 10 ml - Listed Value $19.00
I love eucalyptus oil in my home, especially when combined with lavender or orange. It just smells super stimulating and clean. The carrot seed oil was a surprise for me, because this is more of a skin care oil. It does not smell good. I would recommend adding a few drops of this to your lotion instead of using it in your diffuser.
Bean Chips by Bada Bean, 1 oz - Listed Value $1.39 (Buy 24 pouches for $24.99)
Although I really want to like this bean snack, I don't! They are so hard and difficult to chew. The flavor is there, and I love the 7g of protein, but they are just hard to eat.
Bangle Bracelet by CANVAS- Listed Value $20.00
This bracelet is very interesting! From the booklet, it looks like there were some variations, but ours is a woven raffia charm. The collection itself has cork, wood, and raffia charms, with the focus being on highlighting the natural beauty of sustainable materials. I liked the texture of the woven raffia and the subdued gold tone of the bangle itself. It would make an excellent stacker!
3 in 1 Massage Candle in 'Guavalava' by Hempseed Bodycare, 6 oz - Retail Value $15.99
This candle is made from some truly skin-loving oils! A blend of avocado, jojoba, hemp, and soybean oils, you can pour the oils onto your skin for a massage while your candle burns. These oils have a pretty low melting temp, so no worries about getting burnt! The smell is utterly tropical and fruity, with a little bit of lush greens. The scent is pretty powerful and would be great for a larger space.
Bkind Konjac Sponge - Retail Value $9.95
I feel like whenever I get a decent green-themed box there is always a Konjac sponge inside. This isn't a bad thing because these gentle sponges are great for your face and since they are 100% natural and organic, they do deteriorate over time, meaning you will need to replace them faster than a plastic or foam alternative. I love using these on my face for some pretty gentle scrubbing because they don't irritate my face and help my facewash lather to perfection. The one included in my box is infused with purifying charcoal for some extra cleaning power in my pores.
Silicone Straw by Save One Straw and Brush Kit - Listed Value $4.99
Over the last few months, I have gotten SO many disposable straw alternatives. I am so thrilled to see this becoming a trend because straws are AWFUL for the environment. I have gotten BPA free plastic, bamboo, and glass versions. Save One Straw makes their own version out of super flexible silicone and the diameter of the straw itself is just bigger than my others, making it a great smoothie choice. This straw won't quite take the place of my beloved glass straw, but I love that it is much more packable and flexible.
Casa Amarosa Cotton Clutch - Listed Value $39.00
I love, love, love this little clutch! It is very much my style, and I adore the black and white pattern with the pop of color tassel. The quality is great and the zipper is heavy duty. The inside is lined with a black cotton fabric and features an interior pocket for smaller items. It is plenty big enough for my wallet, keys, phone, and a few lipsticks. I am not a matchy person, so I would easily see this clutch becoming my summer go-to for events, regardless of the dress I choose.
Myro Deodorant Kit - Retail Value $10.00
This month we also received an entire Myro deodorant kit, which felt a little like getting a box within a box. I have actually already tried out this brand, and as a natural deodorant enthusiast, I was super pleased to see a kit like this in a box. This brand is plant powered and features a ton of different scents for everyone. Although I found another brand to be much more effective for me personally, this is a great choice for someone wanting to try natural, especially if your skin doesn't react well to the large amounts of baking soda often found in other natural deos. The scent included in our kit is called 'Solar Flare' and it is a lovely blend of sunflower, juniper, and orange. If you choose to subscribe, they send you refillable pods to use inside your case, meaning less plastic in the long run!
PRO TIP: Though I have a different natural deodorant fave for my armpits, Myro makes an excellent solution for the dreaded summer thigh rubbing. You are welcome!
Stoneware Dish by Fringe Studio - Retail Value $9.00
This little dish is perfect for keeping all of your tiny jewelry pieces contained instead of falling off your desk or down a sink. The 'pause' message is probably something all of us could bear to be reminded of more often. I like the earthy tones and minimal design, and think this would work in a ton of different settings.
Verdict: This month's Bombay & Cedar box was a good one! I loved the green theme and thought the curation was pretty wonderful. I also think it is worth celebrating that there was no quote book! YES! My favorite items this month would have to be the clutch and the candle, closely followed by the Myro kit. The bangle was an interesting take on sustainable materials and the sponge and dish also both made quite a bit of sense in this box. While I couldn't find every item's retail value independently, based on the listed values we are looking at a box with a value of around $141.32, which is good for a $50 box.
